  1. Is it just me, or has South Korea / China starting to overtake the west when it comes to character creation tools? I've never heard of Comrades but that looks impressive.
  2. Pallegina looks a lot better than what I remember, she looked really pissed off. Pretty sure something was changed. Eder also seems to have aged.

  4. The govt and taxation is not the only instrument to steal money. Or we could switch to a less loaded word, shift. Economies are largely about shifting wealth around. Private industry does plenty to force out competition, isolate reward, and more. Even going so far as to using the government as an instrument to change tax laws. Often times tax cuts aren't putting any money back into the average person's hands, but instead shifting money away from government contracts for shared infrastructure into savings for already monopolized industries that wouldn't need to invest the difference saved to even save their industry position from an influx capital. Of course it's not like the government always uses that money well either, I just read that the Pentagon has avoided federal audits for 3 decades now. Either way, economic principles like "don't steal" don't map onto actual economic policy anymore, yet continue to be the political rhetoric to shifting voting behaviors.
  5. it just goes to show......we must Never. Stop. Posting. 98 posts?
  6. Wow. THQ Nordic is good peoples.
  7. Yeah, give it time. The fact that we are having our concerns articulated back to us is a good thing.
  8. Aviator for me. Head and shoulders above anything he's ever done, including The Revenant.
  9. I tend to just avoid games that I feel ruin the merit of games in the first place. I'd love to play a tactical Star Wars assault game with a large Galactic Conquest mode and themed levels based on film plots. But since that's not really what they are offering, I'll just find another ball to play with. Enough people seem to think similarly that there isn't really a shortage of the types of games I want to be playing. Especially now that I'm older I tend to be working through a backlog instead of always jumping from one new release to the next. Classic PC games and 1st party consoles games basically get me by.
  10. That's a solid list, I'm really not a Fassbender fan though. I'd probably add Benicio del Toro, Ewan McGregor, Gregory Peck, and DiCaprio. Man, Klaus Kinski... an actually monster. When one learns of an actors past actions, it can really soil watching their work. But with Kinski it's different. Herzog captured true unadulterated madness. He's easily one of my favorites, but the use of the word favorite has to be very very different than how it's used to describe any other actor.
  11. Bale was fantastic in The Big Short. I'm really excited to see him play **** Chaney. Speaking of Cillian Murphy, I really need to watch Peaky Blinders. As far as I know Murphy had no intention of being a film actor, he's simply a passionate play actor who was offered roles for the unique fact that he's Irish, then he got noticed for his work with Danny Boyle.
  12. I feel that Gyllenhaal comes across as one of the hardest-working actors right now. I just feel like he's putting 110% into every role he's in, even whilst the film around him may be an altogether forgettable affair. Which is a shame because based on the ones I've seen that's usually the case. He's long due for some more recognition. Bale is fine for me but I wouldn't rate him above the ones I mentioned, or if we open up the scope to anyone in the business right now, the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis, Viggo Mortensen or Gary Oldman to name a few. Heh... those 3 are the other guys I had in mind. But I thought we we're talking about a younger age group, so I didn't mention them.
  13. I think method acting is often used as a crutch by those who can't act. It's most impressive when someone has real acting chops, then can layer method acting on top.
  14. I actually like silent protagonists. I can go either way. I like that Gordon Freeman is a both a character but you can place yourself into his circumstances. I think their is something charming about Link, and would hate if they all of a sudden gave him a voice. For a first-person game I think it works really well. Not sure I want the Link model to be replicated though, it wouldn't work as well for new characters.
  15. Jake Gyllenhaal is easily my favorite out of that bunch. Christian Bale is probably the best male actor in the business.
  16. La La Land was a perfect role for him. Probably his best role to date.
  17. It makes me wonder. With the hotlinked in-game codex, I wonder if that is encouraging some design patterns which rely on it to explain away systems that should have be designed more forthcomingly so in the first place. This sort overuse/over-rely on pitfall is pretty rampant in software in general, so I can imagine it directly affecting the deliverables.
  18. I'm not in the beta, but this change has been worrying me for a long time. Particularly the change to armor penetration / lack of grazes. I hadn't even considered how this would play out with the longer cast times, I must say this is not the shift I want to see the mechanics take.
  19. I think we've also reached peak The Rock.
  20. This could very well be the case. However, this would be something that needs some "in-beta exit interview" which collects other telemetry like what difficulty was played, in order to really say.
  21. Europe doing something right.
  22. Can we all agree that Cher is terrible along every conceivable metric?
