  1. I was surprised there is no way to respec your char - wanted to try out different approach with my Brute. Overall - I cleared everything except Brood Mother and Titan solo, can't do those 2 encounters with current build. I have Exceptional Mail and 2 Fine Sabres, as you understood focus is on sabres You can't reach level 9 normal way before facing Titan. Final ingridient to make one exceptional item means stealing from Brood Mother, also I feel lack of money. Here are some stats, I evaluate this build as weak: As you see - I maxed out perception. As you see with 20 perception dual wielding critical rate is about 13% and that's pretty low... Even with pretty high dexterity swings feel slow... Will try something else.
  2. Out of curiosity have tried it with bleakwalker/stalker now. Couldn't do it on lvl 6, but it's easy enough on lvl 9 even with AI-autopilot turned on Link to video. Although it took 33s on normal time...Btw, he didn't get increased stats with level-scaling (only-up) on; but yeah he gets +15 to defenses, 20% bonus hp and +4 more PEN from potd difficulty: P.S. Went with exceptional brigandine and exceptional clubs. Yeah, clubs is the key due crushing. I'm with ordinary fine sabres, no way to get them exceptional (only console). But I've managed to find exceptional mail and breastplate, along with greatsword and arbalest after tough shipfight. Seems like level 8 is max you can get clearing map before titan...
  3. I meant that no abilities should be unperformed. Summoning time right now seems to be unreasonable decision, still I may be wrong. Every ability should be viable, no reason to make something just for overall picture, game depth and balance are extremely important if the game intend to be iconic. And I hope Josh wants to make Deadfire iconic, I so no evil in that.
  4. It's the moment when you get the most of the game - maximum awareness and game experience. All entire game should be built around that option.
  5. Wow, today I learned that many nations have proverbs explaining gaining something over nothing using birds for description! In Russian it's "Better tomtit in hand than crane in the sky". All these proverbs are highly doubtful though! Webb and Iovara just add some flavour to the main plot, I don't understand why they are considered as poor choice by some. The only reason I see is that they are pretty steampipe and unavoidable, but they are milestones, still you have option to know more or less about them.
  6. Now think about tough fights (dragons) potd solo, such fight can take way longer then 2 minutes, most likely re-conjuring new weapon during such fight is like a death sentence. Summoning weapons should be faster, then it's not a big problem. Offtop: P.S is it only me thinking that timeline of implemented ability as a filling circle is kinda poor visible?
  7. It's ridiculous how even single overpowered cleave stance is at current state. When you can't deal one by one with all mobs - just gather them all, pick the weakest and then boom - all mobs are dead. Using this feature with Barbarian / Fighter class - extremely powerful versus 1+ enemies. Cleaving stance with other things affecting on radius, damage and more attack triggers just bonkers. I don't even know is there any reason to play melee class in so slow paced combat (recovery 3+ seconds after each swing) other way than using such momentum and explode all enemies at once.
  8. I don't know, still can't do anything with melee solo char with Titan... but still trying From what I see a ranged build working fine, so respec is the only way to go... simply can't do it in melee.

Playing beta 3, potd solo - cleared all map with Berserker / Devoted dual wielding sabres, and I'm almost level 9 and can't kill Titan without cheesing (kiting) The build is good clearing 2+ mobs, but is not enough to tank serious single targets. I don't know if Obs changes something, but I can't kill it, even being fully on drugs and potions with 8 alchemy... Has anybody done Titan solo potd in beta 3?
  10. Yes, not being access main game menu during ship combat. Once they add quick "flee", "ram" or "surrender" options it should be an issue. Do you mean "report to" was unavaliable? I have noticed that moves you can do get grayed out in a way used conversation routes get grayed out but you can still use them. If it has "per round" limiation it should disappear from the list just like "full sail" does. Didn't use much "report to". Under enemy portrait you can see their class and level, which should give you a rough idea how hard they will be hand to hand combat. Some enemies will be easier to defeat on sea, some will be easier when boarding. Yeah, right now combat comes down to making 180 turns and shooting, or rushing enemies for boarding - not great. My ship crew suffered serious damage, helmsman and some other guys were wounded, so I could only go forward, stay or report. As I've done all necessary swaps using "report to", the "report" button (confirmation) was grayed out, unknown reasons, that was till defeat screen, several times.
  11. The main disturbing factor - you can't load during ship fight, even if you are already doomed, you have to wait till the end. Also sometimes in "report to" option "report" button is grayed out. Ship fight seems pretty simple, just get maximum range cannons and turn ship firing from left / right sides, no reloading time needed. Only factor is if your team is wounded. I'm playing potd solo, and once tried to ram the ship - never tried that again, cause I was executed in brutal way.

As it currently is balanced, single wielding a sabre is near the top dps wise and that is without taking into consideration the potential for extra penetration leading to the multiplicative 30% damage boost from over penetration. Also it doesn't consider that the most challenging enemies will also be the hardest to hit and where the extra accuracy will be the most useful. I don't find one handed weapon style useful at all (miss to graze), cause you already, probably, focusing on maximum accuracy, so your miss chance is pretty low, thus this passive in PoE I with chance to turn hit into crit was way better. Still, playing on PotD, even with 20+ perception I often miss hits using dual wielding weapons, so I may be harsh with evaluation, in situations when a graze can interrupt an enemy... Havn't made my mind up yet.
  13. Have you understood what is "report to" doing? Overall the system looks a bit simplified, still I guess Obs can make certain scripts for different ships, so it will be not similar.
  14. I hate to say, but now I'm worried, cause it's too raw game from my overview, no way Obs gonna polish these things out in two months Kinda nobody pushed them for faster release! It's depressing to get great ideas implemented in games on paper, but with tremendous exploits aka bugs in reality, and we have so many examples of such approach lately in game development. Hopefully I will be wrong, but...
  15. So one handed sabre is a thing, crit based character should shred everything.
  16. That's a bit dumb not to fulfill all milestones (Korean translation) and rushing for the game launch without them all done. I really hope it's just a mistake and Korean translation is under way. If something is not done - I prefer not to have the game in April; polished product is more desirable! I'm still without any information about my Od Nua Statue and all other material stuff... It's almost like releasing the game not including some of stretch goals!
  17. Magran's Faithful encounter was pretty easy I came there already at lvl 16 , for sure Sunlance do ton of damage, but that can be neglected kiting and restoring endurance. I'm sure it's doable solo potd with barbarian, but it's much easier using stronger classes like wizard or rogue. Always wanted to do it with a fighter though... But it's even frustrating to think about how long will it take... I understand it's the matter of burst damage, high toughness guys are not the best choice for solo runs, but I always wanted to try... so I'm at this point

Can't see how Combusting Wounds make the difference there, but I'll try this method My main problem with Brynlod is due lack of damage, they just heal up and my HoF damage is not enough even if I manage to stick them all together for multiply carnage damage. Still I've made only several tries, just to feel the wall...

Yes Still I don't have everything I need from WM II, but most of it, the thing is Apline is hitting very hard, like 200 per second, and I have around 600 starting endurance pool, still I havn't spent much time there... probably it's a matter of lucky HoF crit procs, but I'm not fond of such rng, that's why moving barb to lower tier than wizard and rogue... Rogue is too casual, just pure dps, godly poe I wizard is useless in Deadfire... I'll finish the game with barb and then I'd like to try out monk, kinda liked Helwalker in Deadfire.
  20. Updated my PoE via steam, but no NPC with new stuff... Overall I see this stuff is not better then everything else in WM II...
  21. Haven't decided yet... Right now I'm trying to finish the game solo potd with my evil, max endurance dwarf barbarian, the idea is to help Woedica. Still I'm trying to beat every challenge in the game, but Brynlod and Alpine Dragon are still unbeaten. Overall I feel barbarian is underperforming in comparison with wizard or rogue, it's fun with many trash mobs, but lacking single target dps and survivability...
  22. All game I've played had bugs, more or less... By my experience very few companies are ironing out bugs, most of them just make 3-5 patches and that's it. If that's frustrating things - I just quit. PoE has bugs and, probably, will always do, still the game is good. I don't give up my hope waiting for a good product, hopefully there will be less bugs than in first game.
