Torment: Tides of Numenera Released
Katarack21 replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
On at least two occasions, yes, I found new or extended information in that manner. Sometimes it gives you Tide affinity on the repeat, even if it didn't on the original. And sometimes the NPC will comment about your crap memory, but I don't know if that has any real effect or is just window dressing. -

How the hell people do this? It's been 3 days since release. I'm 15h in the game and I didn't finish the first location. Well, the beta was pretty much the first half of the game so I skipped some dialogue in that part since I'd played it recently. And yeah, once you leave the first city there's not much else. Inaccurate. The Bloom can take just as long if you do all the quests. It's between the two that is *super* quick. -

They're actually all celled "Fettles" and no, I haven't noticed anything like that yet - but I've yet to get into the mechanical side of things a bit deeper so it might get worse. Or possibly better. Well 'Encounter/Combat' is called 'Crisis', but what it stands for is rather obvious, so that bit is just a little strange. Yeah, it stands for "crisis". Kinda like how might isn't strength. Crisis points can involve narrative events, dialogue, etc. They *can* be combat encounters, but aren't specifically so. -
So....is it any good?

Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up, you pale, furless bastards. As an Orlan ex-slave, I have one thing to say. One of these day's you'll all choke on your own whip. -
Or maybe their own fathers? The Black Isle Fathers, or BIFs... Of course that is sexist, who says it was the fathers who were the nobles? Maybe it should be the BIMs instead! alternative: wives and husbands. the bib claim to be the target o' The Queen's Justice-- an elite cadre o' officers o' the law special formed and empowered by the crown to bring the bastards to heel. in actuality, the queen's justice is the spouses o' the bastards. exhausted by the time and money the bastards has wasted on their "role-play hobby" o' being pirates, the queen's justice set out to bring their spouses home where the bastards actual has successful middle-class jobs as accountants, merchants, and whatever is the renaissance-era equivalent o' IT guys. ultimate enemy o' any pretend computer game pirate is gonna be the spouse o' the pirates. The Queen's Justice "you could have gotten your mba by now if you weren't so busy playing pirate." HA! Good Fun! And then the one guy with no real job and no spouse who constantly sits back watching the altercations drinking a beer and going "What? Ain't my fault."

am pretty certain you don't wanna go down this road. the number and magnitude o' ridiculous features in virtual all crpgs beggar any kinda plausibility considerations. one-size-fits-all plate armour is okie dokie, but the fact we won't see an atlatl used by any o' the folks in the archipelago is too much? The complete and utter lack of atlatl, or spear-throwers in general, in any and all media ever has been a pet peeve of mine for a long, long time, actually. It's only one of the oldest and most ****ing common weapons *KNOWN TO MANKIND*, but that literally *never* shows up in any game ever.

But I *LIKE* having the ability to enchant low-level items and make them powerful enough to keep with me and use. One of the things I *really* enjoyed about Pillars of Eternity is that if I find a weapon that I really like in the first dungeon, I can keep that ****er with me through to endgame if I wish. That's freedom right there. That's choice. That's giving the player the option to use what they like instead of forcing them to abandon it and go with what you as the developer decided is the appropriate weapon at such-and-such level.

This guy! -
This has been already confirmed to be not the case anymore. Being in scouting mode does not confer a bonus to detecting hidden stuff. Strongly disagree, it would make things a lot MORE fun, especially for rogues. Time of day, for instance does play a role in Deadfire. Every NPC has a schedule they'll follow and you can use that to your advantage. If I remember correctly they even confirmed pickpocketing. And *reverse* pickpocketing!
