^When push comes to shove, that's what Israel might do like they did against Iraq. Not with their own nukes mind you, just blowing up the suspected nuke site. Anyway for the China thing - China wouldn't pass up the chance to mass oil reserves at prices below the price that others would have to pay. Let's put it this way - say the US (the single largest consumer) and say some Euro countries will have to get oil from other countries. That's going to drive the price up for them and the suppliers won't pass that up. China and whoever can get a relatively lower price from Iran (why should they buy from Iran if not for a lower price - they could get it elsewhere) and possibly because they're politically rewarding China for staying out etc.

I think the current gradual upward pressure on oil is about right to get people to seriously plan for alternate energy sources. Too much pressure would cause an economic meltdown and perhaps panic which isn't too constructive.

There isn't going to be a war the US will be involved in for the near-mid future because they're already stretched as it is, both in terms of military personnel, budget and support. Sure, it's going to be ****ty if Iran stop exporting oil to the west. Probably their sales to China and other countries might be able to support them for awhile.

Hope they chuck in tons of head models. The player's going to be stuck with them for the whole game so I think it's good effort investment.

Of course they're mods. When you buy NWN2 you buy the official single player campaign and the right to use the engine that can support other game mods which usually turn out to be better than the official campaign. Valuing NWN2 solely on the SP campaign is silly because it obviously opens up the potential for many future game mods with probably good content. Ignoring that would be like saying a DVD player's not worth buying because you'll only get to watch the bundled DVDs that come with the sale.

Imagine it's the age of the classical empires (Greece, Egypt, China etc). You, the new leader of a small kingdom-nation that is on the verge of greatness have the opportunity to establish the laws, values and customs of your culture. What would you emphasise in your kingdom-nation that will continue to evolve into the present day? Remember, it has to be reasonable for that time and sustainable for future generations. How do you imagine your society-nation will turn out in the present day? I'll start things off by proposing my own: Overall closer to Greek civilisation. -Central government that coordinates projects of local governments (such as irrigation, financial systems like currency, trade, standards of measurement etc). -Promotion based on merit rather than inheritance. -Emphasis on minimal standard of education for everyone. -Engineering, mathematics and art development in higher institutes of learning. -Well funded and developed military primarily as deterrant. Mostly elite units (vs large enlisting) trained and well armed, possibly with developments from engineering institutes of learning. -Rather than conquering, expansion is encouraged to be by other areas wanting to be part of the nation because of better standards of living/culture.

I was wondering what roles the concept artists and the 3D modlers/texturers etc have in a company and how their work is spread out. I really like the art of Justin Sweet and Vance Kovacs along with the guys that worked on Jefferson and IWD2 and was wondering how their workload is distributed in projects (initial heavy demand for concept to be taken over by in-game modlers?) and maybe ideas on how to incorporate more of their art into the final product. Of course it takes the modlers to flesh out the game world and make their poligons count. Animating the models etc. How closely do you guys work with the concept artists? Finally, are there devs that do both kinds of art?

What the... how are those elements besides "a good story" integeral to a "traditional CRPG" - and by that an extention to CRPGs that you like? You're as bad as those religious fundamentalists that you claim to abhor - getting caught up in details while missing the essence of the point. The main requirements to a good RPG in my opinion is a story the player(s) enjoy, decision choices and character development. Not something like a particular PNP rule system, setting, turn based combat or isometric view.

Congrats! Almost makes me feel old when one of your forum buddies has kids.
