cbs poll on evolution vs. creationism
Well I don't live in the US so I have about the same exposure to Christian fundamentalists bitching as do I have access to atheists bitching about the Christian fundamentalists. Actually if anything it's the latter that outnumber the former. They're annoy me around the same level.

Planescape Torment question
I'm not praising or knocking - just observing that the amount of resources put into Planescape may have made it more difficult to be profitable. I would agree that this is a special case relative to other IE incarnations - it would be normal for other games to have to start from scratch.

Planescape Torment question
It's a lot down to the setting which lets weird things go on. It's not in the Prime plane so you can have weird stuff like belief/will defining reality. A game in the Githzerai plane of limbo would be pretty wacky.

Planescape Torment question
Compared to say IWD where they reused a lot of the animation and models it would have cost more I think.

Planescape Torment question
It's occured to me that some of the art in Torment is amazing. They've basically made new art, animation, spell effects (one of my favs), interface etc just for the game - tons of work and time for just one game. Maybe that's why it wasn't considered a success relative to its sales - the resources invested in the game were very high.

Planescape Torment question
Surprisingly I can't find the lady's rag doll at Pharod's vault - I remember it being there the last time I played it... Anyawy will resort to Aoskar now.

Planescape Torment question
Sounds cool - I remember finding a Lady doll though I didn't piss her off at the time. Will try it now. Why's it needed? I played through several times without getting mazed. The only maze which is compulsory is Ravel's. Edit: Btw is it really tough - ie should be average-high lvl? I haven't headed into the Clerk's Ward etc yet. I've just picked up Annah not long ago.

Planescape Torment question
Ok, it was a bug I think - I couldn't read the full 6th circle past the first time. However there was the deeper-meaning teachings once I bumped up my wisdom. I'm on the 8th circle now. Plus Many-as-one isn't supposed to die I think. I believe it's scripted to run away and once you've killed all the rats that are after you, a message pops up to say that they surrender. On a sad note, it seems I can only sell 1 tail at a time to the office of vermin. Since I wasn't going to click that 100+ times I sold them at a discount to one of the merchants for around 75 coppers. Pharod just got knocked off by the shadows - I'm heading to plunder his stash - another question: What happens if I get mazed by the Lady of Pain - is there a way out/experience? Is it a positive thing?

Planescape Torment question
Yeah, that's what happened. Luckily I have a quicksave before I went in. I'm running v1.1 so it should be already patched. On an alternate note I'm not sure if my circle of Zerthimon's broken. I re-read the 6th circle and it's just 1 line - something about steel while the first time I read it it was about Zerthimon and the Queen disagreeing on continuing war.

Planescape Torment question
Is it possible to kill Many-as-one? I've killed all the cranium rats that come into the throne room (Dak'kon + Swarm curse ftw) and have corned a panicked Many-as-one and have been hitting him for about 10 minutes with magical weapons. Dak'kon's got his magical blade, Morte's equiped with magical +1 piercing damage (Ingres' teeth) and I'm using a +1 dagger on him. No damage numbers floating up. It resists my magic too.

Do not underestimate the power of a papercut. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> His ultimate attack must be spinning into a hurricane and shouting THOUSAND CUT ATTACK. If he goes ultimate attack lvl 2 the post-it notes shoot out from him too.

Bioware/Pandemic and investor relationship
I think there are benefits to the move as well as negatives. I'll wait and see how things work out. I don't think the dudes at BIO are clueless - they're in the gaming industry afterall and know better than most of us how things work, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Markov chains
The only way Markov Volourn would be better was if "An umberhulk is not NWN1. NWN1 is not a dwarf. It's a spider." + Game over. R00fles!

cbs poll on evolution vs. creationism
Of course the Bible's a book - that's the best they had to record stuff on at that time. At least it's in writing and not passed down from word-of-mouth. I suppose later people in the future won't be satisfied with "mere" pictures since they can be manipulated (CG, photoshop etc) but it's commonly accepted because everyone from that time acknowledges that the event happened and of course in the information age info spreads easily. Heck, you've got people saying the moon landing was fake and made in a studio somewhere so you'll always have problems convincing people.

James' ossuary has been proven by the Israeli's department of artifacts (?) as a fake. Mothman raises an interesting point though - why the Romans didn't deny Jesus' existance even though it was in their interest to do so. And of course you had lots of people during that time suddenly believing - possibly because they interacted with Jesus (say saw His preaching in person etc).
