I remember a few devs were following the World Cup yay!

I think resources would be better spent making clone armies of Maria Ozawa.

The what are you eating and/or drinking thread!
Atreides replied to theslug's topic in Way Off-Topic
Wholegrain, lettuce and smoked ham sandwich. Plus coffee. -
Try playing 5v5 indoor soccer. I find it works great for numbers like yours and short passing and movement. Everyone gets the ball more often too.

Gnomes need to break out of their "mad but likeable" stereotype. If Amon was an asshat gnome that would be either awesome or catastrophic.

If you're gonna get rid of a character, what better way than have an Israeli agent beat them to death?

This got my interest up because I like watching EPL and playing myself. Who's in the team, who plays where and stuff like that? I'm a fast myself, preferring left forward or central mid but I can play striker. People have stuck my on central defence lately though because we need to plug holes, and speed's useful there.

I was reading wiki and found something interesting: Chevron Corporation is the world's largest producer of geothermal energy. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geothermal_power) Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) is one of the world's largest global energy companies.... Chevron is one of the world's six "supermajor" oil companies. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevron_Corporation) *Of course the disclaimers about wiki not being the most dependable source of info etc applies here.

Btw that was "hot springs"

Intro: Geothermal/hot rock technology works by drilling holes about 3 miles deep into the earth, sending down cold water and getting the superheated water back up to turn turbines to produce electricity and heat buildings etc. Link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070804/ap_on_...Pyy4jIyeiGs0NUE I found this on news.yahoo and considering I read about this in highschool, so this must have been around for awhile. Given the interest in renewable energy sources I'm surprised this hasn't been given more consideration. If you're pressed for time, here's a summary of advantages and disadvantages from the piece which is a good read. Advantages -Renewable, available anywhere. Just drill down -Can be done on land - less complex? -"Clean, quiet, virtually inexhaustible" (from link) -Can produce most energy needs (replace others sources?) -No radioactivity -Can operate 24 hrs, doesn't depend on weather conditions etc Disadvantages -Drilling's expensive -Research funding's low. People are taking a wait and see/analyzing -Risk of earthquakes - from drilling (which should stop once it's in place), and from water pumped down/up moves soil -Competition from cheaper energy sources (coal etc) means lower interest for now -Heat from wells decreases after a few decades, may need new ones (comparable to other energy plants like nuclear etc?) Anyone have experience with this? Sounds like a more sustainable idea to me than biofuels etc and has strong output. Plus I like hot sprints oh yeah ^__^

Maybe we could ask what the current Japanese think. Not just a few, but many to get a balanced view. Plus I can't wait for more Lucky Star.

The robot's human remote controlled, if I understand correctly. That's not very different from those small recon planes that carry missiles too I think. I thought those planes were a fantastic tool for taking out targets, independent from moral arguments for the moment. With battles becoming less about armies vs armies and more vs small groups of units the recon plane makes sense.

Thanks for the replies guys. Physically I'm lean verging on skinny and I have very good stamina because I play a lot of soccer. Hours of jogging, sprinting up and down a few times a week. I'm not looking to for a fast unrealistic result. I don't want to go really cut either, just middle path. It's as much as learning the right techniques so I can do this long-term by myself and getting into a manageable routine as putting on some weight. Hiring a trainer makes sense too.

I thought I'd join a friend that works out at a gym to put on some weight and mass. I think he'll show me how to use the equipment, so the question I have is what's the "right" amount of work to put in to challenge myself without over stressing my body, and when/how will I know when I should raise my workout. Any ideas?

Of course it has. The real issue is standards, regulation and enforcement in China aren't up to scratch yet though so these things are likelier to happen. I bet it was the same way in the West too before standards got raised. Maybe even ethics. What the media spotlight does is raise awareness and even gets the govt to raise its game, which is exactly what the Chinese govt is doing. They're revising laws and cracking down. I think they executed a former minister because he accepted bribes and let substandard drugs be sold in China.

China scares me at times. With the focus on their substandard food exports, this is getting disturbing. I mean the stuff they put in isn't even related to food. It's to make a quick buck. It's like capitalism gone wrong, but to be fair to the "theory", the buyers have incomplete information on the trade (they don't know they're eating cardboard or melanin in their wheat gluten) so it's not a valid exchange. If they did know that they'd obviously buy something else, probably. Regulation and rules are important in case ethics fail, which is disturbingly common in China. FFS, the stuff they put in isn't even food by most definitions.

I think on some level they know what they did was wrong. Maybe very wrong. That'll stick with them for however long that's relevant which could be a very long time.

What game would you rather see Obsidian work on
Atreides replied to Gorth's topic in Computer and Console
I voted for Vamp! I think it'd be interesting to see how the devs would handle a Mature game. Plus Dungeon Keeper would be interesting -
Obsidian would be interesting, if just to let the devs work on a Mature rated game. I'd rather they did a Vampire: The Requiem but Fallout's cool too. Plus I know many of them like Fallout.

Seems like the suspects are doctors. Guess well educated professionals can be a fundies too.

It's religious in the sense I remember what it's about and give Happy B'days and thanks. Also it's about family getting together.
