  1. ^^ Goldman Sachs is big a player in the European energy market and are making money hand over fist. So, yeah it's "Give us all your money, it's fine, it will only be for a while" rule of thumb, when in doubt - yes they are behaving crooked.

It's all building on research that goes back 20 years though. I couldn't do it, but hobbyists are getting in on the action now that the processing power is there on consumer grade PCs. I guess the point is that it owes rather a lot to the database. here is a collection of the greatest art humanity has ever produced, according to whomever. Without that database it's really nothing. The AI can certainly make it look the part, but it doesn't understand the why of it. A painting like the one that won the competition would take months to produce. Is it good or bad that anyone can do it in 5 minutes. Well, I guess it's kinda like how anyone can use their PC to make music. Some of it is good, but it's also kinda the reason nobody bothers to learn an instrument anymore. So yeah, if you are just some random person using the imput layer, that is definitely not the impressive part of it.
  3. Every offensive runs out of steam though, as it moves too far beyond its supply. If this were on all fronts it would be war winning, but it's not.

I love how people are being all coy with their imput, as if it were IP. In the very loosest sense perhaps, you didn't do anything that took more than a minute or two per attempt. https://beincrypto.com/ai-art-wins-art-competition-invokes-metaverse-social-media-melts-down/ https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/02/technology/ai-artificial-intelligence-artists.html
  5. Imput Dame Edna in the style of Mike Mignola. The future of art or just hot garbage. So far I have not been able to reproduce the really impressive stuff I have seen, and I think the reason is that it can create an amalgam of things it has seen, but neither the ai or the person giving the imput truly understands what what's going on. It's just rearranging from at database, no one really knows what success looks like beforehand. The database itself is the impressive part. To be able to draw from an essentially unlimited amount of reference.
  6. Account related ? Either obsidian or... I have a Microsoft account at work and they set everything as stringent as they know how, I can't even open settings in windows. I am posting at home now though. It's strange.

  9. On Quintin Tarantino. I don't think he's a genius or anything, but he does tend to be entertaining. And the shooting on real film snobbery is appreciated when most other things that come out are so low effort.
  10. Criterion streaming looks interesting. It works with a VPN supposedly. There are a bunch of lesser known Samurai drama on there too. Kurosawa's are all very western inspired.
  11. fighter jets are a really good match for GCI actually, the reason they used real air frames is the same reason they used animatronics in the latest star wars installments. It's for PR, and its because CGI isn't a selling point. Everyone has been bored with industry standard CGI for a decades already. It's the most bland thing and invokes nothing.
  12. Finks arena is discoverable near starter town once you advance the main plot and go looking for.... I can't remember the plot at all, but you go looking for something underground, probably a vault. It's usually a vault. yeah I started with borderlands 2 so I'm a bit spoilt.
  13. the arena mode in bl2 was really good, it's just a botmatch with waves of enemies, like in the main game mission, but much better.
  14. I played the original bl1, not the remaster. And it's pretty terrible. It's locked at 60 fov or something. It feels like you are playing the entire game through a sniper scope. But yeah get the remaster if you want to sample bl1. It made me fov nauseous, and I don't get fov nauseous.

"learn more" leads to a microsoft write up about their cookie policy. So basically you can't agree to cookies and you can't share video content across several platforms, youtube usually and others as well. I've been wondering about this for a while. Doesn't seem ideal.
  16. Soo, how is it compared to borderlands 2, the only borderlands worth mentioning. Does it have an arena mode.
  17. Really ?, I haven't seen anything good in a while. I dunno if good cinematography could save a bad movie, probably not, but the bar has been lowered. You can have "good enough" for drastically less money, and as a consequence excellence barely ever happens anymore.

  19. the boomerang tomahawk bothered me the most, but yeah they could have sprung for a real bear. It's big and can't really afford to feel like it has no weight to it. This is what cinema is now though, the days of spending millions on sets and extras are gone, it's all CGI because of the savings. Think about that for a minute. the best cinematography you will ever see, has already been made in the pre CGI era, and will never be seen again. Depressing.
  20. Did Todd Howard get plastic surgery ? Anyway agree that + 10% whatever are boring perks
  21. Part of the reason we aren't heading for an extreme overpopulation problem is that as living standards go up, birth rates go down - as people have the number of children they want and can support, rather than be a victim of circumstance.
  22. So, Roe vs Wade overturned. My immediate thought, this is going to be bad for republicans. States that might conceivably institute a ban are going to get a lot of new democratic voters. And there is going to be internal pressure to ban, the abortion issue is a hallmark of the Christian right.
