With the ****ty dialouge system I don't actually hold out much hope that anything they put out is going to measure up to what I would consider an RPG. It feels like they took 1\2 borderlands and 1\2 fallout 3 and mixed it up, for better or worse. The gunplay is much better. An RPG though is more than items and levels. What's the point of talking to anyone when what you say so rarely matters.

I used to live near a high school and there was a bomb threat every exam season like clockwork. You know, exams had to be postponed etc. Aren't you people about to close for the holidays, deadlines, term papers and whatnot.

Built 5 matresses in the middle of the street for the squatters who came to take over my home and they thanked me for it. Then proceeded to completely surround the red rocked truck stop with bridge sections and built a commanding tower on the roof. So far no hostiles have gotten through, probably because they spawn too far away, but trashcan Carla's brahmin get's stuck in the barricade every once in a while. Once had a caravan guard doing the pathfinding error dance for several days until he simply vanished. Got a bum I found in Diamond City to come tend the garden. Happiness is in the high 80s, not sure what I did to merrit that.

It's from from an episode of Southpark. Cartman convinces Butters he has been a coma for 200 years and survived the apocalypse, so he can get to go to Cassa Bonita for Kyles birthday instead of Butters. Some of the lines are the same. Meant to be in there for a gag I'm sure. Just terrible though.

It occurs to me as a non-American that the setting of Fallout 4 isn't exactly familiar, and that may contribute to the difficulty of getting into the game. Things I know about Boston: It's somewhere in the top right corner of the US, and has a harbour that may or may not taste somewhat tea-like. I couldn't name a single landmark, be able to recognise the general architecture, or know anything about the weather (though I'd guess it gets pretty snowy). This is in sharp contrast to Vegas and DC (sort of, I know it has, uh, the White House, and that obelisk) in the immediately preceding Fallout games, and would be the case with cities like New York, Miami, New Orleans and San Francisco for example. If I wanted to see what Boston was like from a movie portrayal, I wouldn't even know what to watch, whereas say Philadelphia, a city I'd consider equally unremarkable, I can at least get a feel for by watching Rocky. Screw Paul Revere and John Han****, it's not the tiniest bit interesting and it all feels forced and stupid. It didn't in FO3 as far as I remember. Anyway where is robot George Washington with 8 go and fetch quests before his barge can cross the Delaware.

Well, you could just build a rad shelter and whenever there was a rad storm settlers would go there, or otherwise stick to the ababdoned houses. You could script that into NPC behavior surely.

Fallout 4 is coming soon.. is there a new OB Fallout Scheduled?

Ditch him in camp and romance him by modding your guns and armor, works for Codsworth and whatshisface from the railroad as well. Well minus the romance. -

Had my first CTD while scrapping a building of all things. Remarkably stable until now though never crapped out on me while I was testing what settings I could bump up to ultra. -

At this point I wouldn't put it past them...but I don't think so. I just wish they'd let us totally disable the whole shoddily written mess that is romance You sure he has one ? -

I'm sure most of the publishers would rather have the entire install base to be on the latest version and that's that. What about what I want though. Why doesn't steam have a version rollback function with all the useless fluff features they have accumulated over the years. Also, why are there no patch notes, don't people do that anymore. -

It's just painful when you can feel the architecture messing with your enjoyment of the game so clearly. Obviously it is possible to make seperate conditions on the outcome of specific missions. If the main thrust of the plot is that you are undercover and the usual quest structure plainly does just not work for that. Well, it's just lazy. -

What makes it even stranger is that it is in my estimation the most likely player choice that will lead you on missions where all the ememies are only hostile to your companion. If you solo you can just hack them down while they stand there and take it. I wonder why. There are lots of options to make it work. If there was a real risk and a consequence to blowing your cover, if you had to chase down witnesses, if someone blackmailed you. So, are they just rubbish at coding ? what's the explanation. -

I got an 'instigating' 10 mm pistol, does double damage on the first hit if target is at full health. With all the other sneak attack bonuses comes to dmg x 5 or 6. and you can shoot three or four times before the target even reacts and you lose the sneak attack modifier. Deliverer has vats bonuses, you rarely ever use VATs if you are one shooting everything from stealth. -

She don't like when you steal she only has hots to see you to use those bobby pins with such great skill. She's got a weird moral code. -

I think a memory lounger DLC is inevitable unfortunately. The memory lounger lady is just sitting there with no lines. -

You can build it anywhere including wherever your main stash is. I built mine on the roof of the red rocket truck stop. -

Well, true light, FOV and sound based stealth mechanics are superior to modified score checks any day. I can still crawl through a spotlight though so special is still there in gameplay situations, just deliberately obfuscated. All the dialouge checks have probably been cut on the altar of 'fully voiced' as well. They did dumb it down too far no question, but if they lose a bunch of RPG fans and add twice as many soccer moms they are probably fine with that. -

The level design on some of the small 'dungeons' is really good though. I never even knew the game had desctructable cover until i noticed it in one. A raider silently praying by a grave, a raider building an abstract statue. You notice a lot if you stealth it. Kind of a shame you aren't allowed to talk to any raiders, still with the dialouge system as weak as it is maybe it's a blessing. Still, I would much rather have had partial voicing and more options. -

Actually I'm curious to see the dialouge trees. Whether there are more than one or two branches and dependencies per faction and companion in the entire game, my guess is most dialouges will have none. -

Apparently the dialouge tree has to fit on a controller keypad. Part of the price of having the game fully voiced maybe, but having had the experience of playing Shadowrun Hong Kong and Pillars recently. There are at least a few pivotal plot instances where the game is let down by its over slimplicity. -

Actually you get the background bit when you have enough influence. Influence is tied to dialouge choices obviously but also for some strange reason to gameplay actions. One follower might dislike you when you pick locks and like when you eat corpses so if you want to max out your relationship you have to change the way you play to suit the follower. It's too much of a nuisance to put up with just to get to the special quest/romance option. Nearly all followers cramp your style in one way or another. No they aren't that interesting from a writing standpoint either. It's a Bethesda game. Bethesda games are primarily about exploration. Once you have seen most of what there is to see and done most of what there is to do, you are done. I never finished Morrowind, or FO4 for that matter because I hit that mark before I had finished the main quest. -

Well that will be a massacre to think any group of Muslim countries has the military might to stop the USA or Russia But don't worry, the West doesn't like massacring Muslims anymore ..but I cant speak for Russia This is war of deception...nobody know who they are shooting...but in the end the west who gain, when Assad toppled, mission accomplished. So, the west used to like massacring Muslims..... The Arab spring is what made Syria unstable, we can't really claim to have done that ourselves. Political instability and a desire for progress and a need to demolish existing conservative institutions and power structures. It is what happens when a system of government is nolonger compatible with the people it governs. Experience shows that in those cases it is perhaps unavoidable to go through a period of civil unrest/civil war.

Like everybody was on the same page in Iraq, Yugoslavia etc.? Careful your hypocrisy counter is going over 9000 Russia didn't intervene in Iraq as far as I remember, as for Yugoslavia at one point Nato and Russian forces were close to shooting at oneanother, definately not a good idea to pretend to inteverne together while backing different factions. Russia doesn't have the military muscle to be pressing its case in Syria, not any more really, she's doing it out of pride, some sense of lost empire, you know like Britain in the Falklands. But they were against those interventions, in the mechanisms (UN) instituted with the idea that conflicts should be resolved on the basis of consensus instead of unilateral action. When NATO was doing as it pleased the world over, that's all well and good but when Russia is protecting its interests it needs to be "taken down a notch", even though its targeting an entity that is now more or less the enemy of the entire world and is attacked by country that is supporting said entity - a country that is also a member of the NATO alliance and is undermining the supposed goals of the alliance in the matter. Long story short - Turkish support for ISIS is okay, Russians protecting their interests isn't? So by your logic, what entitles Russa to intervene in Syria. Shouldn't they be going through propper channels and attempt to woo over the UN. The UN was never able to account for the cold war dynamic so a 'consensus' for anthing, not just Iraq and Yugoslavia meant everyone except Russia and China, they were going to vote 'no' nomatter what. Is that hypocritical, sure, I'll go allong with that. Not a lot of the UN's lofty ideals of peace and cooperation survived contact with reality.
