  1. I loved it. The premise is silly, but its so gorgeous and I don't need my space opera to be award worthy. I don't know. While I agree that entertainment doesn't need to be award-worthy (far from it, actually) I'm rapidly approaching a point where gorgeous visuals can no longer polish a turd, for both movies and games. Even low budget schlock like Iron Sky looks visually impressive these days (not that I don't like low budged schlock, I loved every moment of Iron Sky). Point in case, well, Avatar. When it came out I went to an IMAX cinema and the movie gave me vertigo in certain scenes (I hate heights, really, standing on a chair is enough to make me queasy) and I thorogouly enjoyed the three hours of special effects porn. I caught a rerun on TV recently and... boy is that one dumb film that has loads of distracting obvious CGI stuff, most prominent obviously being Saldana's blue space elf brigade. On the flipside Volo's much disliked Avengers (the first one, that is) is almost as dumb in its story premise but at least it has a roster of decent actors and some really funny dialogue. Jupiter Ascending has Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum and a Sean Bean character that actually survives. That's just wrong. Umm. A space werewolf who got his wings cut of (he had wings - a space werewolf, think about that for a minute) because he ate a guy, so now he jumps around using rocket boots and apparently he can hold on to a spaceship and hitch a ride to another planet (as in on the outside of the spaceship like a train surfer or something) if the need arises. Terrible movie but not unentertaining.
  2. Apparently anything with swords and an inventory and randomised loot is an 'RPG'
  3. Totally accurate
  4. Socialism is a lot of good intentions, sometimes it goes horribly wrong, but it is just that. The needs óf the many outweight the needs of the few and all that.
  5. Why are you all doing this song and dance, of course it's going to be a radical islamist. I mean 99% of that. Doesn't make you a racist you know.
  6. Ah. Volo was right. Linking is useless because source will always be questioned. The Mirror is a joke though.
  7. Could have been worse, when you remember the truck attack in France. I guess they have started putting up countermeasures in public places. They look kinda like anti tank barricades.
  8. In fact, the insurance industry is the overriding factor why the US cannot shift to efficient universal health care. They are the middle man no one wants. If you want to maximize efficiency and really run health care like the army, as in the government hires and maybe even pays for the training of doctors in return for x amount of years on comparatively crappy pay, you can't have any parasites in the process. The logistics of supplying the entire US population simply do not allow for it.
  9. Strong shooter mechanics could make me overcome most things. A weak makeaface in the character generator and the terrible animations. Maybe not though, and there is not going to be be as much glorious ME shlock either iif it's going to be so combat intensive. I want to have my cake and eat it too. Also there's no cover button. Fluid cover... nahh I've never seen that done well, but it's good that they have at least moved out of the cover based shooter trope.
  10. Hello, I'm a mod. Just here to say that I prefer the light touch and as far as I can see people are still talking about class builds.
  11. They made it a part of the culture war already. It's like the Ghostbusters reboot. Half the world is pointing the finger going 'look, a woman who is bad at something' she must have gotten her job because of her superior social skills, I feel threatened. The other going 'Freeedoooom' I will buy Mass Effect Andromeda and promote equal rights by doing so.
  12. Well good, now i won't have to install Origin again.
  13. Got one, a lumina xl 640 with a slightly larger screen because I like to read on my phone, and then had it stolen before It was even out of the package. Watch your stuff around train stations. Ordered the exact same model again.
  14. Dead eyes. That's actually pretty cringy.
  15. I would suggest just ignoring the new game then. If you thought ME3 was a dumpster fire, then I don't see how a new ME will possibly be worth your time, money, or energy. Microtransactions are here to stay. It's going to be harder and harder for anyone to resist putting them in. That's just an unfortunate fact of how things have developed. Would you like for your game to continue making revenue long after purchases have leveled out and have next to zero extra expense yes/no. That's often the consideration. I thought Me3 was pretty decent for all its faults. The ending was **** but I can look past that.
  16. Watching The Expanse season 2. It's alternating between bad and really good. There's a sideline with a bunch of Martian marines and they're all terrible actors.
  17. looks pretty ****, but at least no one can accuse them of downgrading.
  18. My samsung finally died on me, or rather the battery connector did, I have to spend 5 mins wiggling the charging cable to get it to work. I kinda want to try a windows phone, but just a cheap one since the hardware is kinda bad value compared to something like a Motorolla Android. I'm done with expensive phones. I tend to drop those and shatter the screen a day after I get them. Bluetooth and mobile wifi hotspot functionality and the ability to get an ad blocker to actually work, including youtube. I guess most things could meet those criterea these days. Ohh and battery life. lots of that.
  19. Sony doesn't know how to make a good movie. That's just based on past experience. Still, 1000 monkeys with a 1000 typewriters, or directors in this case, you never know.
  20. This is ironically such a Russian response through and through. Whenever someone in Russia exposes government corruption the typical response from pro-Putin camp is, "But in America/Europe/etc. they do this too. You're are targeting us. You're doing this to undermine our country. You're an American agent (just like Wikileaks is being labeled a Russian front) etc, etc..." I'd like to point out that Wikileaks doesn't 'target' anyone. They publish leaks. If there had been a bunch of those from North Korea or China they would gladly have published those, but there aren't maybe because 'westerners' ,whatever that means, care more about government transparency and corruption. In other words it's a symptom of giving a **** about these things.
  21. Anyone else think that Trump was worried that there would be a leak about an FBI investigation of some sort into his campaign staff, now I don't think there actually was, but I think he thought it. So he decided to fire first. I thought this up all by myself, I'm so proud.
  22. Anyway rich ****s shouldn't be asking for handouts. I think that's the point ?. Make the public school system good enough for everyone instead.
  23. That was an odd turnaround
  24. mmm. The pixel graphics look kinda lazy and the controls take a lot of getting used to. I couldn't get into it. Not a patient man with games. If I don't feel it the first 20 mins I move on to something else.
