  1. People will generally start a ****storm over very little. You know, the internets.
  2. Check out the latest Steam reviews, mentions of bad performance are actually fairly rare. Apparently, for some people, framerate dips still happen, but aren't nearly as severe. The game ran okay for me on launch and runs perfectly now so not much to complain about. As it always is with these things tho: YMMV More or less fixed for Nvidia cards I would say. They really should have waited, they must have known how dire things were.
  3. Well for all their faults I really liked playing the Mass Effect games. Dragon Age 1 and 2 as well. The teen romance doesn't detract anything imo. I guess Bioware makes me feel like I'm in a cheesy B movie with a large budget. Not an altogether unpleasant experience.
  4. What's the other plane though. A Mustang ?
  5. Congratulations Kirk, you look like a shoe. I hope I never live to be 100.
  6. I liked playing dwarfs best but hated it once i discovered that I was only able to capture orc lands. That's just too much lore getting in the way. It also kinda ruins any chance of a tough strategic challenge as enemy factions always seem to even out and never expand beyond a certain point so the stronger you get the weaker they get, relatively. Making the last 1/3 of the campaign strategically uninteresting.

There's gotta be a twist and they can't realistically have Anthony Hopkins for more than a season. I was unsurprised at what the maze was, I always figured Hopkins would turn out to somehow be the 'good guy' although that's debatable. Certainly that he was more interested in the development of the hosts than he was letting on, that was pretty clear from his dialouge with Bernard. I thought they were going more relativist with the ending, you know 'what is consciousness' that kind of thing. He does it a bit at the end with his speech.
  8. I find that impressions after 5 mins tend to be accurate. Tutorials are stupid anyway, especially those you can't skip. Make them contextual and skippable and overwith in the first 5 mins. Thats kinda the standard you have come to expect.
  9. I'm like a fine wine taster after all these years. I only need to gargle a game for a few seconds and spit it back out to tell if it's any good.
  10. Yes I want a mechwarrior game. Got 5 mins into the mechwarrior online tutorial mission and realised it was ****. Let's have a strong single player campaign this time.
  11. Superman is just plain boring, that's not really anyone's fault other than whoever created Superman. Nolan gets the blame for making the CGI action sequences boring and nauseating at the same time. And what's with the constant gloomy filter. (Man of Steel) Batman v Superman was raping a comic that deserved its own movie. (Dark Knight returns) They should be ashamed that they stole such good source material and still ended up with a script which was so terrible, even if Ben Affleck was good in it. They wind up fighting the ork warlord from the Hobbit ? what the hell was that.
  12. Says the guy who logged a thousand hours on Skyrim. Obviously, he hasn't discovered the truth yet. Gotta search for it thoroughly. Mine says 2300 some hours. Which is almost 100 Skyrim days straight. I hope that's not true. Probably all the crashes messing with STEAM.
  13. There should be a law against burned plastic doll symbolism. Seriously.
  14. Weird student movie gets a game spinoff. No wait.
  15. Nearly done with Dishonoured 2. Overall very positive, but I gotta say I am not involved with the plot, at all. The cast is too large and unwieldy. If you are going to have this much text based exposition that really calls for a dialogue system. Otherwise the plot should be simple and tight and the story shown rather than told. Remember in D1 how the rat population grew dramatically if your kill count was high, that's a really good example. The levels also feel a bit too modular compared to D1, not enough variation in size. Also I find myself wondering why the game would just give me the solution to a mysterious puzzle door. More rewarding to work those out yourself surely. Ohh and the lean thing is pointless. Doesn't affect detection very much as far as I can tell and it's annoying to have to do it all the time. It's just there because controllers have trigger buttons.
  16. was that beyonce. pffffft. Maybe she'll be playing a Ruby Rhod type role? I'm not sure if Beyonce has the acting chops to nail that type of role as perfectly as Chris Tucker did, though, despite her decades of experience in the entertainment industry. I can't say the trailer leaves me inspired, apart from the visuals, but I'll hold out a tiny flicker of hope based on how freakin' awesome The 5th Element was. Are you all referring to Rihanna in the VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS trailer? Yes I am well aware that it is Amazing that it is even getting made. THEY CAN SCREW UP ANYTHING THESE DAYS THOUGH
  17. I tried the non lethal approach but I didn't really have the powers for it so the first two areas have been a bloodbath. I need the stealth power upgraded but I guess it's too late now so I think I'll go for the other extreme. Don't get it without a current gen GFX card though. My 1070 is just about managing with some drastic drops in cityscapes. Playing at 2560x1440 because HD looks really ugly on my new monitor. 4k is wishful thinking.
  18. "Hitchens and Harris are religious fanatics worshiping the state." I was dumbfounded when I saw this retarded analysis by a so called intellectual. It's the debate equivalence of calling someone nasty, taking his ball and going home. That's the best he could muster. Compare this to Sam Harris' willingness to engage with his opponents one on one, and Chomsky seems like a joke to me. At least politically. Chomsky is from the Vietnam era. The overwhelming boogieman was always the state. Nothing else comes even remotely close.
  19. Dishonoured 2 is really good.
  20. The current Cuban leadership is gradually easing restrictions on commerce and sooner or later their socialist roots is going to matter about as much as it does in China, which is to say not at all. Ideology always takes a backseat to the practicalities of development.
  21. A concession to the Bernie wing, giving up on TPP I think. But that's fine. Politics is compromise.
  22. Only works with side vents. The Asus above sucks air from the bottom. Near as ai can tell It's not one size fits all. Looks like it's on there with superglue as well. I mean if I had a laptop that was making a lot of noise and I was getting desperate that's probably the route I'd go. It's a bit clunky to be on anyone's wish list to from the get go though.
  23. I kinda get the vibe that Chomsky really doesn't care one way or the other about public perception and that Harris cares too much and is a bit too self promoting.
  24. Yeah I know of these. I suppose it helps, although it's not actively cooling the places that need cooling the most. And it's another thing that needs power.
  25. (images) HA! Good Fun! (images) HA! Good Fun! Well, a bullet to the chest doesn't leave you screaming. you don't think more than a few o' the victims o' castro were screaming? those who went down in the boats castro sank at sea or those who watched family members killed before getting their own bullet were no doubt stoic and silent. *chuckle* HA! Good Fun! Well following the Robesperian chaos after the revolution, these things tend to happen, things have been relatively quiet. But fair point, I don't mean to paint him as a nice guy or anything.
