  1. Projects happen whenever the government is forced to build large amounts of affordable housing. To no one's surprise they wind up being full of poor people who rent instead of own, thus not caring much about their surroundings. Crime inevitably follows. No particular race or culture is required but it just so happens that the people at the bottom with fewer resources, options and struggling with discrimination and such are often immigrants. They should just gift houses to people in need and don't put any of them in the same place. It will work out cheaper in the long run. Or maybe tell them to hold down a job for 5 years and the house is yours ?. Reward merit that way.
  2. I would be so screwed without my spellchecker, which is currently trying to correct my English in to Danish.
  3. He had the same 'is this really happening' look as Shinzo Abe while they were doing the photo op.
  4. You burned him so hard he's never comming back.
  5. Tell you what, I kinda agree with the Daily Show and whatshisface Seth Meyers. We already know what you are going to say, where is the joke in that. It's like they are secretly inviting you to be part of their knowitall club. It's like you said, they can't muster anymore outrage, they are spent. I miss Jon Stewart, he didn't even have to try.
  6. Kinda like the anti Obama demonstrations that went on for quite a while. But yes, they are freaking out, only they are already at close to maximum freakedoutness so you can't really tell much difference. I think it's gonna last quite a bit longer than the Obama demonstrations and that Trumps war with the press is one that he is going to lose. They are succeeding in portraying him as incompetent, not a hard task to pull off anyway.
  7. This much hurt in the butt cannot be contained to one thread. Every snark is new and original. Every utterance by Trump newsworthy! LOOK LOOK, someone misspoke! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah it's pretty great. A day rarely goes by without him screwing up in some way. His media people are pretty entertaining too.
  8. I want this to be good. I want it sooo much. I guess like what the Starwars fanboys wanted for the Force Awakens, except **** Starwars, comparatively speaking.
  9. I wonder when single player games become subscription based. When you look at both apps and games they have tried almost everything else already, cramming them full of adds and malware, buying minutes like on a pre paid phone. It's already getting to the point where if you have an app that you know certain people cannot do without it will inevitably be subscription only so people will wind up paying for it forever.
  10. You do know they say that everywhere. Like in East Timor some guy will be going to work on his lama reading reading about how the public school system does not prepare propperly for college level work.
  11. Wow, Theresa May has the personality of a flower pot.
  12. good shlock though. Not always but consistently rising to the level of 'so bad it's good'
  13. New addition windows tablet. • Intel® CoreTM i7 • 512GB SSD • 16GB DDR3 • NVIDIA® Quadro® M1000M graphics with 4GB • Intel® RealSenseTM 3D camera and scanning software 15' 4k touch and pen screen
  14. Anyone notice how Trump makes a big deal out of signing those executive orders. He holds them up like he's showing something off at an auction describing them in detail while his underlings stand to attention behind him. It's just so bizarre.
  15. Deserts of Karak doesn't count. It's on one plane. The whole point of Homeworld was that you could command and view/zoom in a fully 3d environment. Take that away and what you have left is every other RTS.
  16. The Homeworld series, up there among the best games I have ever played, can't even get a kickstarter reboot. Best they could manage was a cosmetic makeover.
  17. I don't think devs think there is any money in traditional RTS as opposed to MOBA and the whole e sports nonsense which is kinda what the genre developed into.
  18. Is there an Xcom2 mod which replaces the sparks with the mechs from the previous game.
  19. I wonder. Do you think the reason he didn't pardon Snowden is practical or ideological. Practical in the sense that it would undermine the deterrent in divulging classified material, because Snowden hasn't been seen to be punished, rather he lives the life of an international celeb, often quoted and often asked on security matters, or ideological in that he broke the cardinal rule of the intelligence community and that the feeling is that the act itself was wrong. That he betrayed 'Murica as it were.
  20. I guess the feeling in Europe is that he achieved some long overdue reforms that would essentially make the US a bit more like Europe which we naturally think of as a good thing. Now it's all being unraveled and we are getting another moron populist. We have enough of those over here to know how destructive they can be.
  21. When I see that I read good value. Paying extra for branding is silly after all ?
  22. Snowden was right about privacy. It's something you have to claim for yourself with encryption. They have been at it since the Bush administration.
