The media craze can be helpful but also potentially deadly. If every one knows what she looks like the abductors might decide that they have to kill her. Don't think this one will have a happy ending considering the length of time she's been gone, but it could also be some unstable woman who wants a child, probably the best screnario to hope for. Or the parents killed her somehow and made up a cover story.

People are scared and they don't know what to do, so they do something rather than nothing, even if it's stupid.

Maybe a crazed gunman drill would be in order, you could even have the alarm do a special ringtone so the students would know not to run out and be mowed down like cattle, but to throw themselves out of the windows instead. The drill would cause only moderate casualties if propperly prepared. Or alternately, you could make sure that guns were so unavailable, particularly to children and homocidal maniacs, that these things would be so unlikely to happen that drills would be unnecessary Nahh, too advanced.

I don't like top down RTS as a rule, the kind with hundreds of little green selection markers milling around, build queues and buildings, but I thougth starcraft was good for it's time, Diablo was mindless repetition.

I can't remember a blizzard game I liked. have they done anything other than warcraft and world of disneyland ?

Some vacinations carry an innate risk of serious side effects, although those risks have been vastly exagerated and have become almiost an urban myth in their own right, perhaps this is why some parents refuse the offer. I dunno. I and most of my generation have a welt on our shoulders remaining after being vacinated a children, on some people it is really quite large and unatractive. one would hope they have developed less intrusive methods since then.

No one ever asked me if i wanted to be vacinated or not, whats the difference if it's mom or the government deciding, the kids still don't have any say. And in this case, theres no real downside.
