  1. "How can you believe that when you die, you sieze to exit? Entirely, no afterlife, no consciousness, no anything. Thinking of death must leave you with a really hollow feeling." Faith is asking an intelligent person to accept that 2+2 = 5. If he does this he will live a fuller spirtual life and will not be haunted by the gloom of his own inevitable destruction. Some people however, can't accept the 5 whether they will be better off for it or not.
  2. [heavy mexican accent]Stars, we don't need no stinkin' stars[heavy mexican accent\]
  3. "Games on Linux: MS - for all of the criticisms - continues to offer the most integrated cross-spectrum stable OS for hardware. Apple pales and Linux stutters in this regard .." Really, I heard the Unreal Tournament series on linux servers ran smoother, unfortunately not a single other game comes to mind that I could get for it. If the game choices were there I wouldn't mind the hassle of getting Linux to accept all my hardware, lesser of two evils. "The machine I am writing this on has been on for 93 days without a crash or a restart. It's Windows XP Pro SP2 Swedish." Yeah, I love my electric bill too.
  4. What does that mean in the common tounge ? Anyway i'm not gonna bother upgrading unless it's inescapable. Why don't more games come out on Linux, lazy coders.
  5. I would think it would be more than 1:1 if you factor in the whole of the tax beuocracy which is not exactly cheap to maintain.
  6. What do you mean, the forum wasen't down
  7. The biggest channel here has a sports director that used to play handball, so now every transmitted game is handball. It's not very interesting to watch though, like basketball everything happens too fast to appreciate the tactical elements. At least women's handball has bouncy ****.
  8. What are the principal tenements of Hinduism, discounting the million differen't denominations.
  9. So thats pretty much what you are gonna make right, except prettier.
  10. Inside the case it's nice and neat with little plastic wrappers to keep everything in place. Outside it's an enormous birdsnest of cables stuffed behind the computer.
  11. " You are confusing the historical Jesus with the religious one." No. Jesus was crucified by the Romans for political reasons whether you are religious or not.
  12. The greater good seems like a practical rather than moral consideration to me. You need to put an individual in a position to compromise his belief system in order to have a moral dilemma.
  13. What if the 100000 were deranged killer clowns, lawyers, or mimes.
  14. Thats impropper use of present progressive. The answer to your question is : 'it depends'.
  15. Looks like a clip from toy soldiers. Anyway you might wan't to stack up on bubblegum anyway.
  16. "Actually, Christianity is a bridge between the older religions and their sacrificial purifications (e.g. the witchdoctor can be sacrificed
  17. Why do cougars attack groups of humans, are they stupid ?, I mean they are smallish cats and predators usually don't try to take on anything that can fight back, if a predator gets injured it can't hunt and will likely die. Perhaps it sensed they were weak somehow, or felt its territory threatened.
  18. "If anything, your example of a Zulu farmer from before WW2 is more misleading than helpful" The case and settlement are very recent, haven't you been paying attention ?
  19. 'Even disregarding' is a popular way to sneak an inappropriate agrument in the backdoor at reduced effectiveness, thats what you were indulging in. Taking 30 or even 50% of the settlement as payment is hardly pro bono, and thats the usual arrangement in longshot lawsuits against big business on behalf of people who can't pay. The case was in legal limbo for 6 years, and as stated the settlement came about only because it was discovered and made a cause de jour by rolling stone magazine. The stones are wealthier than most small countries, I don't think they make a particularly good example, although i'm sure there are more cases of rags to copyright infringement riches out there. The odds however, are always stacked in favor of the party with the most money to spend on lawyers.
