  1. Lots of people will be jumping off the windows train after it becomes a fully closed system. Myself included.
  2. I am really not a fan of immortal companions. I particularly disliked how it was done in NWN2. You should'nt keep NPCs on life support just because they have lines later on. There is always a workaround for it if you think it through. It's a bit reminiscent of the babysitting mission debacle. As long as you can have the NPC die and have that be a result rather than a reload, I'm fine with it, but having to reload a babysitting mission over and over while being a victim of AI quirks and bad pathfinding. It's one of the tings that will make me give up on a game completely.
  3. Personally I don't want beta access. I want to play the game when it's done, not exhaust my interest in it while it's still buggy and unpolished.
  4. A name like 'Eternity' kinda suggests that you would be able to time travel, or sleep for a 1000 years like a vampire. In that context there would be guns.
  5. The Barbie dressup component of RPGs cannot be underestimated. I can't begin to count the number of people i killed - then reloaded - in FONW because I absolutely needed to try on their hats. There is no rule that says you can't have a prestige armor or two that can look the part because it only fit's one body type though.
  6. Not allowing people to indulge in their traditional discriminations is... discrimination. I think that's what they call a double jedi mind****.
  7. Picked up divine divinity for a fiver. Surprisingly it hasn't aged that badly, and thankfully there is support for modern resolutions. It's a bit hard to read with the text so tiny though.
  8. I used to be a regular at BIS, no idea how long ago that was. We used to live in a shoe and the internet was a relative novelty. My father beat me senseless with a shovel every day to build characer. Kids these days etc.
  9. It's a bit like saying steam trains vs electrics. Proper game expansions harldy exist anymore, there's more money in DLCs and they don't necesarilly require a full developer team.
  10. Max von Sydow as your soul ability sensei. He makes lengthy and unlikely explanations of a core game mechanic go down really easy.
  11. Thanks for making me feel like a geezer you bastard.
  12. I don't think a little curvage hurts anyone. What matters is how the female characters are written. I trust Obsidian to be able to stay away the usual banalities.
  13. Can i just cast a vote for women with no shirts on in general.
  14. Yeah but that's just because it's how a lot of politics are driven in the middle east these days. The Islamic Brotherhood, who now pretty much run Egypt, were the ones who called for mass protests and are now feeling pretty hung over about the whole thing.
  15. JE doesn't like romances either. So maybe we'll get none, or some bad ones.
  16. So an RPG with souls and stuff. Yeah not bad. They haven't really worked on anything I wanted to buy since NONW.
  17. Hhahaahhaahhahaaha. No. It won't sell.
  18. So it's finally out. Do you have to buy HF1 to get this to work. Kinda indifferent about it now, took too long.
  19. Artistic freedom is nice and everything, but do you really want to wonder whether your car is rigged to blow every day. The fundamentalists are genuine crazy.
  20. I don't see it, but I never read the books so what do I know. I hope it's Torment(ish), was there ever any official word on that kickstarter idea. Nameless goes through incarnations like potato crisps. It sortof fits.
  21. That's not a bad point. It's no excuse either. You can certainly conduct counter insurgency operations without torture and assassination, like you said yourself.
  22. Although that makes me think Nose Mythology which makes me think Icewind dale. It's got a lot of name recogniton, and they could be converting the old games for tablets in tandem with this.
  23. It's a depiction of the midgaard serpent which envelops the world. http://en.wikipedia....iki/J
  24. I imagine the separatists still enjoy plenty of support, and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. There is no state that doesn't use torture and assassination when the situation calls for it (which is rare, since there are plenty of other, more reliable ways to solve problems) . To believe that is to be exceedingly naive. Its a halfway racist prejudice against Russia that everything there is as brutal as possible, the state, the people, the culture...etc. Russia is not CNN and gangster flicks, just like Africa isn't a bunch of black people jumping around a fire. Russian human rigths violations in Chechnya are well documented, so in this case the media bias against Russia, which is a real thing by the way, is not wrong.
