  1. The real problem here is human lifespan. We don't care enough about what the world will look like for our grandchildren to make hard choices right now.
  2. Don't think so, for spamming account reasons. I'm sure you can imagine.
  3. The crashes and freezes which were in EVERY mission are gone so far with me starting a new game, and I didn't do anything. That probably only leaves corrupted saves. So anyway it appears I spoke too soon.
  4. If a spindle drive is performing a write and you lose power. It's happened before.
  5. Xcom. Crashes I could handle, but the thing hangs. That's not without risk to my computer, I could fry a HDD every time it happens and I have to hard reset. Trying to turn off everything STEAM related, cloud save, comunity, etc. But honestly I'm nervous about ever booting it up again. As disapointments go I'd call it a 10 out of 10. Broken game, no refund. Have fun with it customers.
  6. Jhon Lennon was shot. Knew that already.
  7. A "truth" engineered, run and controlled by a bunch of wannabe-Kings. As for the rest: Thanks for turning another subject into a "RT sucks lol Fox News and BBC rawks" ****storm, instead of discussing the actual video content I linked. That's nothing new, the republicans have been using that angle in the election for a long time.
  8. Ideally one should have at least 7 or 8 parties. Large parties grow larger by eating up the competition, that's an organic process that can't really be halted. but it's nolonger healthy when the entire rainbow of the political spectrum becomes reduced to a two coloured dichotomy. Fancy analogy if I do say so myself. What it means is that if you seek participation, odds are good that no party exists which remotely resembles your political inclination. That leaves a lot of people disillusioned. I don't think every republican voter stupports creationism, wait and see on stem cell research, or seek and destroy on sex ed and birth prevention programmes, but if you vote republican that's where part of your influcence goes. If you want to avoid it your best bet is to associate yourself with a PAC and try to buy influence or extort your way in instead. it's not an ideal situation. A larger spectrum would have a greater chance of keeping the wingnuts at the edges of political influence.
  9. I always thought it was pretty retarded not being able to put on a pair of boots because you didn't know what magic was on them.
  10. Well it's not watered down. That's good. That was my main complaint about Army of Darkness.
  11. RT means Russia Today and it's state funded. It has a Russian perspective, which is interesting at times, but it's not ridiculed for it's journalism like ,say, Fox News.
  12. While were at it, why is there never a spear+shield option. The tradition is to get caught up in weapon type. Is it one or two handed, if it's two handed it takes up both hands. That doesn't leave any space for a Hoplite type situation.
  13. Yeah the hardware part of it is nice enough.
  14. It's more that I've done that discussion a million times already. I don't understand Apple users, but I have come to accept that I don't have to.
  15. Why is the appstore a plus. I mean aside from preventing various malware, it seems to me there are easier ways of doing that. Hardly worth giving up root access to your device. Nevemind, lets not derail this into Apple vs PC.
  16. I wonder how good the digitizer part of it is. I've got a wacom screen thingie, but it's got too many cords going on. Doesn't reach my couch without a hassle.
  17. Invisible pink elephants. Deists believe they know for a fact, as clearly as anyone can know anything anyway, that they exists. Atheists stipulate with equal conviction that they cannot. The truth is that there is ample room in the human psyche for mutually exclusive ideas, even convictions. So as long as nobody puts a gun to the scientists head and forces him to chose, he can indulge in the logical fallacy of invisible pink elephants. It won't hurt his scientific objectivity any.
  18. There really ought to be a common standard for measuring gears. 10 speed or 7 speed in my experience only means that there are that many of them. Many manufacturers make them purposefully low so they don't create too much stress on the, what's the word for a crank shaft on a bicycle, and that way they don't get as many claims on the insurance/mandatory guarantee. It ought to be presented as an equation. How many Newton applied per revolution translates into which speed on average terrain factoring in accelleration. Average that out and call those standardized increments 'gears'. You only really need about 5 or 6 if the increments are chosen well. I wonder if it would be possible to come up with an automatic gear system for bicycles. You could have a small computer for the gears powered by a dymamo.
  19. No, they're pretty much the same. Obamas progressive streak can be more expressed though. Romney took an oath to protect rich people from taxes. All republicans candidates do.
  20. What's a solid state hybrid by the way. Does it use SSD for indexing, frequently used files, that kind of thing. The rest is optical.
  21. Bought a subscription to a gym. Used it once in the last month. I'm a slob.
  22. Maybe I'll spring for new board ram and processor for my old box instead. It's a more manageable prospect anyway. Certainly cheaper.
  23. Looks like they are being deliberately obtuse about the specs. I found them elsewhere though. Intel® Core™ i7-3820 (4 Core, 10MB Cache, 3.60GHz) - 16384 MB (4 x 4 GB) 1600 MHz DDR3 Quad Channel - Original Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, Dansk - 500GB (7200RPM) Solid State Hybrid + 1TB SATA 6Gb/s (7200RPM) 32MB Cache - Uden skærm - DVD+/-RW (læse/skrive) 24x - Integrated HDA 7.1 Dolby Digital capability - Dual 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 555 SLI™ - 1
  24. If I was able to get this with a substantial price reduction, re-sale but barely touched, should I bite. The Alienware part of it sounds fine, but its put together by Dell. Aside from the fact that it looks ridiculous how current are the parts. http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-aurora-r3/pd
  25. BOS radiation suit built for Fukushima cleanup. It'a missing a few of the plates, but the leg actuators look functional.
