Movies You've Seen Recently
Well it's owned by Disney, it will be a children's movie. There will be nothing even remotely controversial or challenging about it. If you recall there was some. Or at least some people believed the last movie to be a jab at the Bush administration. Give it to Lars Von Trier. It will either be brilliant or boring 50% chance of either.

What you did today
I'm with AGX in that I reserve the right not to bother even trying to understand why people would pay big bucks for conceptual weirdness. I do think it's pretty damn impressive to be able to pull off a career doing it. They are like the ultimate ballsiest con artists in the universe. The thin red line between something that anyone could do and genius. Now that's the really interesting thing. We're not meant to be able to understand it, if we did then the spell would wear off.

More intersted in the new Star Trek. cpt. Kirk seems to be little more than a pretty face, but that's fine. I don't mind rooting for the bad guys. None of the Star Trek movies were any good, but I don't understand why people insist the reboot is worse than the TNG movies. I just know I will enjoy this going into it with low expectations.

My theory is that he has Russian family but currently studies in Norway.

Mali Civil War and the Western Intervention
I find it rather curious that no one considered that the reason for the mask might be that once you join the Legion Etrangere you get a new name and a new identity. As far as the rest of the world is concerned who you were doesn't exist anymore.

Mali Civil War and the Western Intervention
Since it doesn't have very clear leadership and a cell based structure, it's basically no more than a loosely defined anti western terrorist ideology. If you are Al-Qaeda you generally shout it from the rooftops. They constantly try and outdo eachother to gain fame.

Graphics Card R.I.P.
How quiet is your system. On paper fans are supposed to offer a good noise ratio, but over time **** gets into all the nooks and crannies and they start making an infernal racket. Some of that dust also gathers inside your graphics cooling unit where you can't get to it easily and requiring faster spinning under full load to compensate for reduced efficiency. There are still fans in a water cooled system, notably one fast spinning one near the CPU connection, but is that something that can easily be replaced, say once every year. No, 'g.ook' is not a racial slur. I should be offended the filter thought me so crass.

Oculus Rift?
So you need content designed for the display in order to even use it. That's doesn't bode well for the success of the device. Or are they just talking about having more demos ready for a maximum launch effect.

Oculus Rift?
You don't have to move your head at all, the controller can do that. I do kinda suspect the wow factor will wear off after a while. We'll see what actual humans (as opposed to gaming journalists) think when production models start becomming available.

Oculus Rift?
It's basically what they wanted to do in the 90s with VR, but couldn't. It would be great for a compact gaming system, something that would fit in a small bag. The real question is how will it do endurance wize. Is it something you could bear having on for a few hours at a time. The hardware issues aren't insurmountable and the screens are already there. Apple retina display for instance. It should be able to mimic stereoscopic vision better than current generation 3D.

Mali Civil War and the Western Intervention
They want to stop a potential hard line sharia regime on the edge of Europe and protect their interests. The difference from, say, Chechnya, is that most of the world seems to agree which is why there is a UN mandate and a Pan African intervention force. France probably are getting nostalgic about their lost empire, but I seriously doubt this is a move to try and reinstate it.

What are you playing now?
They should do away with all level restrictions on gear and you should be able to level up your guns, or they should just do away with levels altogether. It's not a real RPG, it's a shooter. Only the nuissance elements of an RPG remain for some reason, I dunno why. Nothing less than that would bring me back to the game.

Aaron Swartz has committed suicide
I don't know the names of any of these new breed hacktivists. Is this a fault on my part ?. Anyway, my hat's off to anyone who still thinks they can change the world for the better. It will pass with age, but it's nice while it lasts.

The moral of the story : don't use Outlook express. How many years ago since people started to notice that it would open emails without you asking it to.

Gun Control in the US
They remember being close to breaking point in WW2. Stalin ordered deserters be shot on sight and no further retreats. Unlike Hitler's similar orders, It worked. In Russia much can be forgiven by showing strenght. In this he was not much different from the Tsars.

Syrian dictatorship continues slaughtering children
Yes. I believe their main interest is in writing these reports and being factual about it. Everything is connected to everything else. You aren't going to find any one body that is truly impartial. Of course it could well be argued that they shoud'nt have any employees at all, just volounteers.
