  1. @Zoraptor I stand corrected. Although at some point Australia was happy to sell everything to China too and it changed. Guess we'll see about NZ.
  2. Mmm, I think you are just not hearing about it over the Ukraine noise. They are still very much active in their usual stomping grounds, directly and indirectly. I'm sure that once the Ukrainian issue resolves itself one way or another the news will start picking up other topics. It does them no good to dilute the public attention when it's already teetering as it is right now.
  3. And NATO is a peace loving saint? Please... Australia and NZ fear China. Try having Croatia, Bulgaria and Albania as you border pals. Turkey? The middle east and Africa don't even have the US on their border and they are ****ed. Israel? China? How do Mexico, Cuba and South America feel regarding having the US so close.
  4. So the US is punishing Kosovo by excluding it from some military exercise. Again this is a really strange situation when you get condemnation from the US against the Albanians for the first time ever, I think, and on the other KFOR getting engaged against protestor also for the first time ever. @Elerond If this is just a lack of oversight and coordination on the part of the local KFOR, I guess they learned their lesson.
  5. What that article does not mention is that the protestors were sitting with their hands up when the KFOR started to disperse them with tear gas and stun grenades. I was under the impression that KFOR was supposed to prevent conflict and not start it, especially when the news outlets are condemning the Albanians for their actions. Go figure...
  6. KFOR tried dispersing the protesting Serbs. Some wounded on both side and it seems KFOR retreated.
  7. Coincided with a rally that the leading party organized, so a lot of people from kosovo went to join. Could be that the Albanians took it as an opportunity. The strange thing for me is that this is getting press in the west, let alone negative press. That is a big shift.
  8. That struck me as such a petty thing to do, no matter how you flip it or at what angle you look at it. I probably would have quit too...
  9. For me it was the payout of the cars estimated value minus the value of the wreck. The difference between insurer is that some will auction off the wreck for you while others will leave that to you. There are some rules regarding what happens when the actual value of the wreck is higher or lower than estimated, but it's very convoluted.
  10. Yep. I mean in case of a write off he doesn't necessarily have to junk the car. If it's a cheap fix he could do that and pocket the rest of the money. For an example the frame could be slightly tweaked and that can usually be remedied with an alignment if you can live with gaps in the bodywork. Although I don't know what the laws in the EU are regarding totaled vehicles and he would probably have issue insuring such a vehicle. Then again, new car prices are something else nowadays...
  11. That can be tricky. It may not look like a lot of damage but if the frame is bent they will total the car.
  12. I would say it's good, as you were not in it. You will have a little headache having to deal with insurance and get a new car, but that's it.
  13. They really need to battle it out for the rights to the name. Single combat, iron dome style. May the best dev win.
  14. Been watching Unicorn: Warriors Eternal (Genndy Tartakovsky's new show) for a couple of episodes now. It wasn't off to a great start, but it's starting to pick up steam. Will see how it goes.
  15. I was in a mood for some sci-fi. It was a toss up between Dredd and the new Blade Runner. After my 5th rewatch of Dredd, it's still great.
  16. Since I started working I haven't been on a vacation. Probably some 5 years before that too.
  17. Seconded. But man is Affleck dead in the eyes... Don't know what happened to him.
