  1. One would think that they would have learned from Cyberpunk.
  2. I went down the rabbit hole of his interviews/posts/presentations of what went wrong with Deadfire (PoE). In general he doesn't seem to know what the core issue was. I'm trying to find if he has some impressions about the Owlcat games, but apart from mentioning them he doesn't go in depth. He does touch on Divinity Original sin, but says that it's not a direct competitor/comparison, which I agree with, but I would think that the Pathfinder games are so I was expecting to see more. I mean that is what those games are trying to do and the audience they are trying to cater to. There are other games that do what you want to. Sims being the easiest example.
  3. Just finished it and I agree. Hope they don't do a sequel.
  4. @Zoraptor When you spell it out yeah it seems to be obvious, especially considering that most Aes Sedai only considered each other to be equal to one degree or another and the rest of the world were at best children to them. But man I read the books a number of times and never picked up on that, not even for Eladia and that one is in your face. I'm not much for subtlety...
  5. Probably the best Star Wars anything that has come out of Disney.
  6. I'm perfectly ok with waking up thinking I have a heart attack, but it being acid reflux. So no thank you.
  7. I think the standing boss is going to be difficult. Also yes, that mission is very long I think.
  8. Cleared all the missions in DMC5 and man do I suck... I remember being better in the previous games. But muscle memory is a thing and the GoW control got stuck in my head... I'll probably play around more, do the son of sparda difficulty, maybe do the arena, try Vergil. Still hate the camera in this game.
  9. The manga was interesting to skim through in a over the top, train wreck sort of way, but at some point even that got boring. Made in the Abyss, but it sadly fails on the embarrassed point due to the art style and some other things. Code Geass if you haven't watched it already. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, but it's very heavy and probably doesn't have anything to do with what you asked. Hal I guess could fall in to the category, but it's more of a drama. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou. @majestic liked it. Psycho-Pass is probably the closest, but it's not as good. Maybe give the Ghost in a Shell movies a rewatch?

  11. I didn't, I feel all those things are true. Feeling powerful is one part of the equation and I thought I stated that pretty clearly. On its own it's not going to keep me playing the game. I don't know why you take these statements as personal attacks. I think most of the people here, or at least the regulars, wanted to like the game and wanted Obs to succeed and make more games. But wanting something and it being so are not the same. No one here is attacking people who did like it, or trying to invalidate their opinions. A question for you. Why do you always feel the need to belittle and offend anyone who you disagree with? Does that make you feel powerful?
  12. People counting their chickens before they hatch.
  13. Well yeah. In your own words: Add to that uninteresting items, the low fantasy setting and in my mind you get a more "sterile" gameplay experience. But as @213374U said: My issue is that the cover box was something else and I couldn't get over that, which is a me problem. But you can respec in WotR (unless you were trying to say something else), I would even say to install toybox as it improves the experience.
  14. I don't mind snakes, but why own venomous snakes apart for research or to make money in a zoo. Seems like such a risk. But yeah, I guess they are "passionate" (insane).
  15. Why would they rate them, why would anyone own them as a hobby? Why?!?
  16. I mean it wasn't dynamic in a good way, at least as far as I can remember. One example of that would be the health system, it's complicated for the sake of being complex and a chore to manage. As for it being sterile, I'll stand behind that statement. It may not be fair, as their plan was for it to be a low level adventure, but for me there was no dazzle and a feel of magic, or at least being powerful. The items were simple and uninteresting, the setting/world pulled towards low fantasy. All in all, as a package, it felt kind of sterile magic/fantasy wise. Compare that to Owlcat, who even in their first game (kingmaker), went all out, maybe even a little bit too much. The biggest thing for me is that they leaned in so heavily in to the spiritual successor shtick when pitching the game, so I couldn't ever look at it on its own merit, but always through the prism of the IE games. To be fair to the game, on its own it's probably not bad overall, but when you go in expecting something else it's hard not to fail. For garbage choices I still think there is something to being able to fail, it makes your success all the more rewarding. Now having said that I do not experiment that much with my builds so I haven't "failed" so far in any of the Owlcat games.
  17. Because the gameplay is sterile. There is something to a game having imperfections and being able to fail with your builds (having overpowered builds too). The gameplay doesn't need to be a Swiss watch, it needs to be fun. Also I imagine that having an already well made system in place (D&D/Pathfinder) takes a lot of the guesswork out of it. Having to make a game and invent a ruleset is not easy.
  18. But that is half of the gameplay/experience! I didn't mind the buffing that much, at least when I remember to save after I buffed.
  19. Asteroid City. Not my favorite Wes Anderson movie. While I did enjoy it I did not watch it in one sitting and overall it seemed very disjointed to me. The highlight of the movie were the characters, but the plot seems to be there just to move them along instead of telling some story. Of course the movie could just have gone over my head.
