  1. For people who like to explore and 100% the game it's really not semantics.
  2. Nah, trash encounters are trash encounters. That they are present in the quest has no bearing on that. An example would be going to the area of the quest, while not taking the quest, and kill all the trash encounters. You can still come back and do the quest. There is a pretty big difference between quest related creatures/npc's and trash mobs.
  3. No it isn't... In both cases and I don't where you get the idea that it is. BG2 had a crap ton of trash encounters, that were in no way related to the quest except to maybe fill the space in between the encounters that were related. Being related to the quest means that they somehow fit in the story of the quest and not just be there to fill empty space. Which is not to say that filling empty space with trash mobs is bad.
  4. As for who did what in Ukraine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIvRljAaNgg As far as I know the mood in Europe is that most countries didn't want to sanction Russia, plus it did blow up in their face in the end(or is in the process of blowing up).
  5. The sheep is not a label for anyone who doesn't believe in the story, it's a label for people who use "Conspiracy Theorist" as an offensive term as soon as their preconceived notions are offended. An overused but still valid example is that people believed not too long ago that the stories claiming that the government listens in on everyone were conspiracy theories. They making the same claims as people in this thread are making now, it can't be done, it's to much information, too many people would know, etc... I'm not saying that I believe that this was set up, but I also didn't fail to see the convenience of this event on unifying the west at the time where America has accumulated the ire of Europe over forced sanction to Russia. The euro is taking a nose dive the dollar is getting stronger, the sanctions have failed, but now we have a common cause again. Also to end this rant, this didn't even had to have been set up, they could have just let it happen. One of the many terrorist acts that were known about and could have been deemed as not to damaging but useful for the cause of the west.
  6. LoL, then everything in DA:I is quest related too.
  7. A good solution would be to add a burn effect around the letters or just add a black shadow to them.
  8. If you can get people to believe in the big bearded man in the sky who judges you if you ****, I think staging this won't be that big of an issue. Besides if there was even someone to step forward they would either kill him or if he got too much exposure discredit him and call him a conspiracy nuts. The world has trained it's sheep well.
  9. Well played sir. Though we in the CT business like to call it brainwashing, it has a better ring to it.
  10. You and I must not have played the same Baldurs Gate. My advice is, give BG another spin and see how incorrect that number you stated is.
  11. He didn't say that, he said that people who call them conspiracy theories/conspiracy theorist and dismisss them out of hand are.
  12. Yeah, my bad. Forgot you got xp, I only remembered that you could buy Praxis. Still the game has combat xp and is linear. Nope I was talking about Human Revolution, only I forgot that there was xp. Ok but as far as I can see that game wasn't combat focused, PoE is. You won't have those options in majority of encounters.
  13. Deus Ex doesn't use xp at all, haven't played bloodlines, ME2&3 are pretty linear.
  14. @Gorth Just go for the x99.
  15. Whaaaat? I said that the thing between the beginning and the ending of the game is the most important part and that if that's bad no one will bother to finish the game. I don't know how you got anything else from what I said. As for passing of the character progress via xp, I doubt it will be smooth with quest only xp. Those who like to explore and 100% the game will suffer the most by that system.
  16. The difference being that you need to get to that end game. That in between that you dismissed so conveniently is the whole point of the game, if that is bad then there is no point with the ending as no one will even bother to get to it.
  17. How dare you sir!
  18. I agree, but I don't agree with how they "fixed" it. Hate to break it to you but this game pretty much focuses on combat.
  19. Because this is primarily a combat game and for the n'th time you won't be able to skip combat as much as you guys think. It's probably going to be a few quests, but what about all those creeps in the wilderness and in between those quests? This game is not Torment...
  20. I tell that to my self every week... Only I want to learn to work in Linux and not really migrate.
  21. I found that summons are a solution to 99% of the encounters in BG2. At least when I played it as a kid.
  22. Ah, well can't really help you there.
