Parallels between The Odyssey and TSL
ryan12177 replied to Darth Drabek's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You'd have been better served comparing the similarities between KOTOR and the quest for the Holy Grail... (and no I don't think that works any better) Cathar while a race in KOTOR were a group of heretic's who the early catholic church made it its duty to exterminate. Cathar are also said to be the last holders of the grail.. Sith Academy, an ancient castle of sorts carved into a mountain side, very similar to the castle that the SS soldiers were trained in. Part of their training was the grail mythology and I don't think I need to explain the uniforms. So if you wanted to force it..... you can see the hunt for the StarForge aswan Indiana Jones like hunt for the holy grail and Revan as Hitler for turning reasonable men into an evil axis. -
and what Laozi said...

lol, yeah it was like he was a roman emperor and gave a thumbs down when Chewbacca's name was brought up (and yes I know that the thumbs down sign actually was a way of saying to let the losing party live, not die) Oh and he made them switch from killing Jacen Solo to Anakin Solo... the man is the grim reaper of EU
-
Why don't you go back to your ship and get your lightsaber (hint, hint)? and you can kill him with mines and grenades easily,. gamebanshee also has cheats and strategies for fights http://www.gamebanshee.com/starwarskotorii/walkthrough.php
-
No, it isn't impossible. Just keep practicing and getting a feel for KOTOR combat. For some reason obsidian made the Sith in this game neutered as they don't even use force powers and they have no awareness so you can stealth and mine them to death in most areas of the game.

My idea is to beg bioware to do the third game.
-
Yes, but there is a cd-rom that Lucas and company released about the entire process of creating the NJO and his personal involvement in it.
-
You also have the small hint that Mira is the daughter of a famous mandalorian bounty hunter. .. (no idea where they were going with it before it was cut out of the game)
-
I love when people pretend as if Lucas wasn' t involved in the planning of the NJO saga. Just because we don't enjoy things, doesn't mean they didn't happen. Lets all get together and pretend that the twin towers are still standing today.

They do have real names. Mical and Brianna.. its revealed in-game

I don't think it was that long,.. probably was quicker than in thei first game, though maybe not. My main complaint would be how small all the planets were. It seemed like so much got cut just so Lucas could release the x-box versionj for christmas
-
I don't think it scream KOTOR3 as much as it screams "Hi, we at Obsidian couldn't put together a good story and wrap up all the questions/plots we put out there. P.S., bioware we are not"
-
needs to be bumped to the top with some of the questions being asked....
-
We've been seeing a lot of questions since the PC release that we've all gone through a million times on this forum. So my advice would be to just search the forum, and you'll find your answer. Also if you're stuck on want to know how to complete a quest go to http://www.gamebanshee.com/starwarskotorii/ They have a complete walk through that a few of us on the board have been adding to, just to make sure its 100% dead-on.

Malak's Lightsaber & Armor
ryan12177 replied to KotOR_rules2004's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Superpowerful? If you hit them with force wave twice they all disappear except Malak. -
Laozi, I would give Labyrinth of Evil a try.. its the lead in to ROTS and I thought it was one fo the better SW's books so far and they answered stuff that Lucas isn't touching in the movies due to time constraints (Like the whole Sifo-Dyas thing with who ordered the clones) and I read Shatterpoint on a plane from the Baltimore/Washington area to L.A. so I felt liek I had no choice but to finish it, .. it was hard to finish for even those who read almost all of the SW's books
-
So which books have you read, Laozi?
-
Don't sweat the criminal quest, its the most bugged one of the early going and its honestly best just to lie to the cops about killing them to clear it. Just look at the open missions and follow the basic instructions and you shoudl find out where to go next.
-
Then I guess its an agree to disagree situation, because I genuinely think that the EU has been a lot more well-thought out than the prequels have been and enjoy them a lot more.
-
Because you can blow up the other droid in the room you need to get to, if you're talking about what I think you are.
