  1. I've done this many times.. including clearing Moathouse on Ironman. TBH, not playing TOEE on Ironman would be anti-fun for me. There is no tension otherwise. The only problem with TOEE Ironman is how buggy the game is.
  2. Honestly, I really don't know the exact amount of the bonuses. I assume(perhaps wrongly) that it will be similar in magnitude to the PF bonus(+3). So Ciphers can be good at it. What about Paladins, Barbarians, Fighters, and Monks? I don't care if they aren't able to beat the Rogue(or Ranger) in high-single target damage, if the damage they are able to inflict isn't chump-change. I'm a bit worried about Barbs. AOE melee seems like a pretty crappy niche.
  3. So, you had Garrick in your party in BG1? Did anyone keep a Bard in their party at all? IMO, that was easily the worst class in all of 2E. Hopefully Chanters will be useful. Yeah, 2E bards are pretty awful but Haer'Dalis is the most broken character in BG2.
  4. Kotick: What the **** is Arcanum, some nerd ****? *orders 10 more CODlikes* Would kill for a steampunky Obsidian game. Just lock Tim Cain in a room until its finished.
  5. The Moathouse is a serious kick in the ass if you're not prepared. I really hate the opening village though. Bunch of boring fetch crap that you sort have to slog through in order to get that first level or two. The game becomes amazingly better once you reach the TOEE actual. Puts Watchers/Durlags to ****ing shame, to say the very least.
  6. ^^ It's called EE keeper and works just fine. Picked up BG: EE for five bux, installed tweak pack. I rather like this Dorn Il-Khan fellow.
  7. New Vegas an Add-On? What kind of weed are you vaping? That's like saying Fallout 2, IWD 1/2, KOTOR 2 were all add-ons.
  8. Rogue/Fighter are the biggest and blandest offenders. Insanely boring names.
  9. Prefer not to have full multiclasses since they inevitably break the game and are impossible to balance properly. But I'm all for shared talents/abilities/skills and not being pigeonholed into using certain armor/weapons based on class selection.
  10. Barb Rogue Cipher Chanter Wiz Priest If a Rogue isn't required for dungeon crawling (traps and such) then I would probably dump him for a Paladin and focus the chanter/cipher in melee.
  11. Yeah, modern MMOs are abysmal and they ruin everything EQ/AC/UO were pretty cool circa 1999 when it was new and shiny but **** what the genre has become and the influence it has had on the industry.
  12. Would be great if the next Fallout game was contracted out to Obsidian. Because Fallout 3 was trash compared to NV, especially the writing. That frees Bethesda to work on a new IP or something.
  13. I'm a bit concerned about the Barbarian's role. Being good at AOEing trash mobs from melee seems like quite the underwhelming niche, considering we'll have spells which will arguably be more efficient at that job coming from long range and fired earlier in the encounter. Not to mention, there will probably be fights that don't have ample trash and trash mobs in general are scrubs and most likely won't even be a true threat to a prepared party. From what I've read, Monks will be the toughest class to run from (according Jsawyer) and do more damage from taking damage which sounds like it should be a Barb feature. Fighters will be the quintessential tank while Rogues/Rangers will have much better single target DPS. The Barb just sounds a bit underwhelming from what we know and I'm not quite sure what real advantage they will bring to table to justify taking them over another class when building a party (besides roleplaying).
  14. Yeah, same here most likely, focused on two-handers (morningstar mind****ing!), sounds like an absolute blast. Cipher definitely seems like the most unique class which will be a refreshing change of pace, though it might depend on what story NPCs are available.
  15. Damned/Expert/Iron for me despite the fact that it's all going to end in disaster. Depending how the Adventures Guild works I'm probably going to approach my first run similarly to how I play Xcom . Dem rookies can deal with those traps since I'll be too paranoid about losing my story NPC rogue in the first third of the game.
  16. Do we know if Expert and Path of the Damned will be available off the bat or will they have to be unlocked? I'm totally with the OP though, too many games have been ruined by my obsessive savescumming growing up. Definitely want my first play-through as to be Ironman + toughest difficulty. Subsequent play-throughs will be modded with even more difficulty
  17. Yeah, Clerics not being able to use edged weapons is one the silliest and most pointless tropes around. If my priest wants to use a big F-off axe I don't see why he shouldn't. He's still a killer either way.
