  1. Yeah a hotfix for the most egregious game breaking bugs would be nice. Not really a productive testing environment when you're fighting this ad nauseum 3 minutes into a playtrhough with build that is 2-3 weeks behind what the devs are probably using.
  2. None of the IE games were challenging if you abused summons. This even goes for most of the difficulty the mods that didn't specifically nerf the them.
  3. I don't, and here's why: A) Trash mobs bring a refreshing break to exploration without stealing the show. Think of exploration as a slice of pizza and trash mobs as seasoning; now think of strong trash mobs as super strong seasoning. So strong is the seasoning you can't even taste the pizza anymore. B) Weak trash mobs also make the bosses feel more special. When you are fighting a boss you won't be used to being pushed so hard by the game, and this battle will be very memorable. With strong trash mobs the bosses won't stand out, and what would be epic moments in the story will feel very anti-climactic. C) This isn't a big deal for everyone, but weak trash mobs make the player feel like a boss. Not to mention all the problems that come with strong trash mobs. The MOBA generation in a nutshell ladies and gentlemen.
  4. I meant simpler for you to defeat, and I already stated how. Lower their hp by 10%. He just showed you how without your nuclear option though.
  5. What class are you? Maybe some classes are just under-powered or overpowered. Making people's game experience different. Barb, Cipher, Druid, Chanter.
  6. Have yet to wipe or have main chr die on Hard despite key gear vanishing. Never even attempted the easier difficulties.
  7. At the very least I hope you can mod them in. There are some really decent scripts out there for BG1/2 that make playing the game (especially with SCS) more enjoyable. Otherwise you're just fighting the pathfinding more than the actual encounters at times.
  8. Not seeing the difficulty really. Aside from being completely under-geared and with no weapons equipped due to the vanish bug. Also the usual shaky RTWP pathfinding issues where my rogue bumps into the warrior, forgets to do what I told it and stands there idle. Characters seems to very easily get stuck if they are bunched.
  9. Yes weapons were completely gone from world + paper doll for me. Only happened to my Priest's weapons (still had a shield though).. just from talking to everyone in town. Think it might have happened during a load transition.
  10. Really sucks! Not sure what exactly is causing it to happen but I can see why so many people were wiping at gamescon. Anyone figured out a way to avoid it?
  11. A game that proves multiplayer can be implemented well. In game that suffers from extremely porous dialogue/story/character writing among other things.
  12. All the baggage in the world doesn't change the fact that betas come in all shapes and sizes. Or the fact that, if you decide to spend your money on an assumption, you already know you might not be correct about what you think you're getting for your money. I realize that the tiers made it quite clear what was in them... I was talking about what you're getting with beta access, specifically (the topic of this entire thread), not "what all items are included in your tier pledge." So, I don't think you got what I was saying, and the comparison's terribleness is now suspect. Yeah, the larger shapes and sizes the majority of the time at that price point these days. Would have bought in regardless, personally. Then again, Early Access wasn't nearly as prevalent in the past that could be factor as well.
  13. That's fine, as well. But, really, if you don't want a beta with only four quests in it, don't spend $25 based on nebulous expectations. I mean, if they were charging $3,000 for the beta, would we just assume that we must be getting a bunch of Obsidian stock along with it or something? Or a real-life, fully functional grimoire? The word beta comes with baggage in the industry. PC gamers, even the most skeptical, aren't generally going to expect a 25 dollar cRPG beta to be the length of a free demo. Higher tiers pretty much spelled out what was in them, so I get what you're saying despite it being a terrible comparison. As far as spoilers I get why a developer would want to keep them on lock but it would be relatively easy to avoid as a backer. Game of Thrones this is not. Another worry is a game with almost as many maps as BG2, that is sporting extreme difficulty and Iron man modes, where a killer bug/crash can tank a playthrough will see sufficient QA to catch most things on a such lowish budget/time-frame (especially looking at NWN2).
  14. That's what I was always planning to do. But if you're going to use the word beta with a 25 dollar buy-in people will have certain expectations. Backer tech-demo would have been more apt. Yeah but paradoxically one of these expectations is for the beta not to spoil much of the main quest (repeated time and again on these forums), so unless you were expecting Obsidian to produce a lot of unique content for the beta which wouldn't make sense, it was either going to be a few relatively unimportant side quests or some huge spoilers. That's fine. But really, if you don't want to be spoiled don't play it. When they go Early Access (which I'm sure they will) I assume it will be different from backer beta. Wonder how that is going to work out in terms of spoilers.
  15. That's what I was always planning to do. But if you're going to use the word beta with a 25 dollar buy-in people will have certain expectations. Backer tech-demo would have been more apt.
  16. First playthrough will definitely be max difficulty (i'll be learning the mechanics in beta), don't see a point in playing through on easy or normal. Subsequent playthroughs will be max difficulty + mods. Generally I play ironman, though, I doubt that would be the wisest decision for a day one first run with the possibility of a killer bug tanking your campaign mid/late game. So probably iron honor system first time around.
  17. SO HAPPY. Wasn't expecting it to be this soon but I'll take it. Hopefully not as rough as the Wasteland 2 initial betalpha though.
  18. Heh, I originally read this as 'ponified' while shuddering.
  19. Probably not before Nexus poops out a nude mod. But probably a hour or two if they had access to beta.
  20. Seems like the majority of POE fans are ecstatic about this fantastic design decision.
  21. Yeah would really like to see a Soul Reavery type class eventually (sequel/expansion I guess at this point).
