J. Sawyer said that passive talents won't have unique icons, and that the talent selection screen will have tabs. Edit: Here is the exact quote.

Just bumping this from the old ranger thread.

Casual Gamers Redux (No fighting please)

I was under the impression that you write the spells in the grimoire, and a grimoire can hold a limited number of them. Edit: Read this article. -
That image looks upscaled to me, anyway if you want to take a better look at the map check this video at exactly 1:45:00. I'm pleased with the world map's appearance, though it would be nice to have a separate section in a corner showing Defiance Bay, like in BG 2; or have the city as one marker on the world map and have another map for navigating it, like in DA:O. Edit: It would be nice to see something like this concept art for Defiance Bay.

Top notch marketing.

Everything that has been reveled on this subject is available on the wiki. -
No need for something as fancy as dragging . Just a selection portraits position 1, log position 2, etc, really simple for the non-solid UI, not too difficult for the solid either.

More movement required to issue commands.

My thoughts on the issues with combat systems
Lychnidos replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Wouldn't an additive damage bonuses make Might disproportionately more useful for low damage/high speed weapons compared to high damage/low speed ones? Though that could create an interesting dynamism, because then if you want to use a high damage/low speed weapon it'll most likely be more useful switch to Dexterity. -
Did they bring up any motivation on why not? I was considering making another pic where I've ordered them that way. I have two more versions in mind actually, then I guess I'll start a poll thread. If I remember correctly it was bad mouse movement.

It wouldn't be too difficult to make it possible to choose which element we want in which position.

There are at least 114 backers eligible for an NPC, it's almost impossible for them to be something more than vendors, townspeople, or random mooks. After all, you need to treat them all equally.

Always found it slightly strange how much anglophones use the word "please". Where I live it's only used if you are really asking for a favor, or are being extremely formal, neither of which is likely in a marketplace.

I'd like to see this too. WL2 does the same with companions being allowed to interject and use their dialogue skills as well. Can't see it happening though as the decision has been made to have all dialogue go off your main character. And that decision was good. Otherwise, the attribute/skill checks are almost pointless, you are better off not having them at all. How fast do we get the "ass" skills high enough to pass any check?

Sensuki's Suggestions #025: Backer Beta Version Review v301 bb
Lychnidos replied to Sensuki's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Nice find! Wow! That's almost on par with WL2. What the hell happened? The armour colours look quite more saturated then they are now. -
At the Gates released an extensive gameplay video, showing the first year of gameplay and a new art style.

In my opinion background affecting disposition is not a good idea, you are basically stating that all clergymen, aristocrats, etc are the same. It would be better for it to affect faction reputation and only slightly, e.g being an ex slave grants you +5 with a village with a lot of former slaves, and -5 with slave owners, or being an artist gives you +5 with aristocratic patrons of the arts.

The biggest culprit for me was that blur thing, it was easily dropping my frame rate by 2/3rds when moving the camera.

That's some big ass horse at the beginning .
