  1. Is that the expansion to PoE that adds only melee-oriented, defensive fighter-type classes? 6_u
  2. I've already gotten shipping confirmation for my stuff (either last night, or the night before. I can't recall exactly, at the moment). But, I'm a U.S. backer. Dunno if that's useful at all. The email comes from Paradox, so check your junk/spam folders, people! As for non-U.S. stuff, there was a post 3 or 4 days ago saying that they sent that stuff Air Freight to make up for the initial delays with the port strike and all that. I think they don't know exactly when it's going to get there, so they figure it's better to just tell people as soon as they have concrete news, rather than keep adjusting an "official estimate" every 10 minutes.
  3. How many other games have you gotten a refund for after buying and using them? I'm just curious.
  4. You know what's dated? The idea of non-Frostbyte-Engine graphics being inherently dated! What now, journalists?!
  5. Yeah, I mean, it's understandable, what with the game being playable for the past 10 hours or so, that many keys have already been claimed for one service or the other. I just wanted to mention it, in case anyone hadn't claimed them yet, as a temporary workaround possibility. I don't mind waiting for my disc, but I'd still like to know if we're supposed to get disc-replacement keys or not. 8P
  6. You'd think Hard would give you 3. Then, Path of the Damned could give you 2. *shrug*. But, I realize it's not really a proper difficulty setting, but rather a different "mode," sort of. So... 8P
  7. "Agh, OIL PAINT?! SO several centuries ago, u_u..."
  8. Well, for what it's worth, to anyone in this predicament, you could always generate a GOG key instead, and just that installer for both PCs for now. *shrug* I realize that's beside the point, though. Just thought maybe it'd be helpful.
  9. I just don't know how accurate that word is. That's kinda like calling a 2D game "dated," simply because it isn't 3D. I mean, this is the first game I know of that's had dynamic lighting and such in ultimately-hand-painted 2D environments. What's in PoE isn't really dated, since it's brand new. *shrug* I mean, yeah, 2D isometric games have been around longer. But... I dunno. Is a new 2015 car's wheel dated simply because we invented the wheel a lonnnnnng time ago? *shrug*
  10. Drat! I was really hoping we'd have to collect the 12 legendary/long-lost anvils of the god, Forjj! 8P
  11. That does seem odd, Adhin. You'd think, at the very least, you should be able to stash those supplies, like you said. Then, you could "resupply" (literally) later without having to buy some. *shrug* Either that, or you should just get some kind of "NOPE" message, and have them remain there upon their groundy, groundy bed, forever.
  12. Yeah, I mean. It's not that I demand an extra copy. But, it makes sense, given the decision they made. The biggest problem was that some of the ways you could have backed (post-Kickstarter, methinks... since all Kickstarter tiers with physical copies had 1 digital copy accompanying them) lacked a digital copy. So, those people were just SOL, waiting for their disc. So, Obsidian kind-heartedly said "Hey, why don't we give you a digital key to use right now, in lieu of that disc you're waiting for?" So, with that in mind, it does kind of beg the question "why does person A get a replacement key for their temporarily missing disc, but person B does not?" It's not exactly reasonable to say "Oh, you knew, before you even clicked on the 'pledge' button that this tier was going to give you two copies of the game? Just negate all plans you had for 2 copies, and use that 2nd copy for yourself while you wait on the disc, 8D!" So, yeah. I'm just curious now. It seemed, from previous threads addressing this question, that ONLY the people who already lacked any digital key whatsoever were going to be awarded a "bonus" key, so that they'd actually have some means of playing the game on day 1. But, if we do actually just get 1 key for every physical disc we're waiting on, regardless of tier, then I'll happily go download the game tonight, and just save my disc as a collectible. If Stryker's tier was simply the $65 Kickstarter tier, then it would seem all instances of a physical disc are getting a free digital key to make up for the temporarily-missing disc. But, I'm not certain. I WOULD just go check my portal page, but I can't get to it right now. 8(
  13. Using golf scoring, 8D!
  14. Expert mode turns off basically all the little "meta" notification things that you can already turn off individually. Combat tooltip details, Disposition identifiers in dialogues, etc. It's sort of the most immersion-focused setting, for lack of a better word (it toggles off as many of the "Hey, you there, sitting at a computer! This info is directed straight at you!" things as possible).
  15. So, wait... DOES every single physical copy get an extra/free "here, while you're waiting on your disc!" digital copy? If so... I'm gonna go download the CARP out of this game! If not, I shall patiently await my disc, and continue my drawing practice like I SHOULD be doing, To be clear, I have the Collector's Edition Kickstarter tier ($140 tier), which comes with the collector's edition boxed/physical copy, and 1 digital copy. Should I expect a second digital game key in my products, or not? (Apologies for my being unclear on this -- I still don't know if Stryker's talking about two separate pledges/packages, or just the one with 2 copies, one physical and one digital)
  16. I definitely understand, . For what it's worth, I won't be playing until I get my game disc. But, if there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that you have 2 options: 1) Wait until factors beyond your control change and stress out/freak out the whole time, or 2) Wait until factors beyond your control change while "not worrying about it" and just enjoying that time doing something else. Not worrying doesn't mean you just don't even care and don't jump on a support response, for example, the second it comes in. But, you will seriously feel much better in the long run if you just treat it like rain or something. Stay inside, or get an umbrella, but it'll stop raining eventually,
  17. I'm the opposite. I start with hard, and dial it down a bit if it ends up just being too frustrating for my playstyle/capabilities. 8P
  18. *shrug*... Maybe it's to trick people into thinking there's only one, really big person making footsteps, even if they DO detect your party?
  19. I uhh... I think that's the "gibs" option. I'm not 100% (I'm actually not familiar with that term), but I believe enabling gibs will enable those "explode into super-dead chunks of once-alive entity" kills, 8P. I think it only happens on kills, though.
  20. Might affects all damage from anything. If that character is producing damage, it is affected by Might. Abstract, I know, but it eliminates the "always pump THIS one stat for Wizards, and THIS one stat for Warriors!", etc., dilemma. If you have average Might, you'll just do +0% damage. Unless you strictly dump it, you shouldn't be doing crappy damage or anything. But, if you value the control aspect of your Wizard over the damage numbers he's putting out, I'd worry more about Intellect, as Magrusaod said. Heck, you can even focus on Perception, if you want to interrupt the crap out of everyone, etc. Or Dex if you want to be able to cast/attack much more frequently. (You can choose the Blast class talent, and wield a wand, then max out DEX and attack as often as possible). It's really just up to you, I wouldn't try to focus on more than a few stats, though, or you'll just end up with all average stats (which is fine, if that's what you want -- a jack of all trades, sort of).
  21. Not sure about the clothes. As for the culture, it actually influences things throughout the game. I don't think you're going to walk into a town and have everyone suddenly bow to you and name you their lord and savior just because you're part of a particular background/culture, but it will actually affect things here and there. Some of those things will affect other things, etc.
  22. I don't think we'll be getting a world editor. It's not your typical world-editing process, and they're already using a very small budget compared to other games/teams. You never know, though. Maybe if they make enough from sales, they'll easily be able to support something like that. *shrug*
  23. You may want to contact support about that. There should be a contact link on the Backer Portal page (eternity.obsidian.net). While it's possible someone might see it here (other than us perusing forum-goers), your best bet is to get a hold of Obsidian's support team, directly.
  24. For what it's worth, I'm waiting on my disc, as well, since I planned on giving my digital key to a friend instead of using both it AND my disc for myself, and I don't want to have to wait for the disc, THEN mail that to someone to get them a copy. @JFSOCC: Yeah, I dunno if there were only certain tiers with "name in the credits!" rewards? I can't recall. But, also, I think there's maybe supposed to be some kind of reference to the Obsidian Order, for example? There were surveys for the titles, but then everyone kept coming into this thread saying "I responded to a survey for my title in the backer portal, but nothing happened here on the forum", etc. I don't know if that was just a glitch in that system, or if those were supposed to go to a list for some other purpose as well. I've heard only rumors regarding an actual in-game reference to the Obsidian Order. So, *shrug*
  25. The trend, nowadays, is to sort of act like significant tactics are inherently hard/complicated. There's nothing wrong with games that just let you make one character, then tear everything up. But, they keep taking things like this -- party-based play -- and trying to force it into the mold of another type of play, as if it's wrong. Or as if they need the novelty of its aesthetic ("Oooh, it's neato to have a party of people! 8D!"), but every other part of it just gets in the way somehow. I don't get it. By all means, make Dragon Age and Skyrim, but stop trying to breed out everything else, ya crazy companies!
