  1. Wow, thats too hardcore for me. Imagine the time it takes to get kickass gear vs dying once and being stripped clean by a pack of piranah's. IIRC, dying in EQ involved losing experience, even to the point of dropping you a level if you lost enough. Thats an acceptable consequence IMO.
  2. Too easy, you'd always be in "god mode". Bwahahahahaha, I kill me.
  3. Wait, in Ultima Online your corpse can be looted by random passer by's until your "ghost" gets back to it!?!? Thats crazy. Although I suppose you could just lurk around other people doing battle and just gank the hell out of them when they die. Still, that one feature alone ensures I will never play that game.
  4. Explain please.
  5. Isnt the National Guard already a "volunteer national security force" thats (almost) as well funded as the military?
  6. Horrible. Latest I read is up to 12 injured and the suspect was "injured" by the police while being apprehended. Couldnt happen to a more deserving person. In other news, another gruesome murder at VT. Geez, whats in the water there?
  7. Where is Claire anyway? Did she die last season? I thought the season premier was pretty good and I liked the plot. One thing though, wouldnt they too reset every skip? Like a bunch got redshirts
  8. Thats one of the things I hated about 3.5, everyone could be a god at everything. Whats the point of classes? All abilities could be feat based too.
  9. Yep, 1600 gold. You must have never gotten your epic flyer before you quit as the "training" for that was 5000 gold alone. Im unbelievably wealthy now (have around 14.5k now after that purchase) due to Jewelcrafting. Its really insane, some gem cuts make me over 100g each (IE: +32 Attack Power) and the Epic rings and necklaces fly off the shelf even priced at 2.5k! Im rich biatch! /Chappel
  10. Yeah, I didnt have the patience to get a Netherdrake either. I know of three ways but I know there are more ways I dont know about. Of the three I know: 1) Get exaulted with the Wyrmrest Accord. This is what I did and they give the Red Dragon for 1600G. 2) Get exaulted with the Oracles. This one is tougher as all you get from them is an egg and it has a very low chance of maturing into the dragon. I dont know what color you get from them either. If it matures, its free. 3) Do a Culling of Stratholm "speed run". I tried it once but a wipe or two doomed us wrt the timer. You get a Yellow Proto-Drake if you do it in time (everyone in the party iirc).
  11. WoW. Just picked up a Red Dragon mount. Shes so beautiful...*wipes tear from eye*
  12. We are the WoW, resistance is futile.
  13. Huh, I thought capital gains tax laws had changed and didnt kick in until you hit a much higher threshold.
  14. Agreed but thats nothing new. What you say to get into office will often not jive with the realities of the position. I dont think he's against war per se as much as he is against the Iraq war. Unlike Iraq, there is no ambiguity regarding Afghanistan's involvement with sponsored terrorism. What should really make your sphincter pucker up is the almost supermajority Obama has. THATS scary.
  15. Unfortunately, not a chance in hell. As is swearing in on any religous document! I was more curious why the addition of "in god we trust" had people up in arms any more then swearing an oath on a religous document, like somehow its EVEN MORE religious. All Im saying is it seems the same to me.
  16. This is a tough point to explain. On one level, there isn't a difference at all. A person is expected to have faith in whatever they are pledging to, and will honour that pledge. What if the person is not of that faith? Then this pledge will mean nothing to them. Only the morals or codes they adhere to themselves will guide them, not the promise. But they have a choice. They may swear on the bible (christianity), the koran (islam) or simply the Constitution itself. I see what youre saying but isnt "god" a general term used for every religions head dude? They are not required to say that. The actual oath is: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
  17. ^Why do you feel that way?
  18. Which is obviously false but then somehow I didnt catch the hidden meaning of your post and you REALLY meant the addition of "so help me god"? Whatever. Oh noes, I was off by 20 years! So smegging sue me. Or, you know, don't. *sigh* Abraham Lincoln assumed office in 1861. So, you know, you were only 89 years off. Every president since FDR has used the oath ("so help me god"), so no, I was off by two decades. But dude, whatever. I dunno why you're having a fap about this. Do you really want to know my thoughts on the matter? I think it's wrong for the person administering the oath to include the words "so help me god" - if the President wants to, well hallelujah. But he shouldn't be urged to like this: Roberts: "preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States" Obama: "preserve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States" Roberts: "So help you God" Obama: "So help me God" Roberts: "Congratulations, Mr. President" The actual oath in the constitution is: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Oy, if your just trying to beat me down with some wierd circular argument, youre winning. You keep addressing something you never originally said, just look at what you quoted in your reply. Anywho, tell me why you feel its different to "only" swear on the bible/koran/wiccan tablet then it is to also include "in god/allah/odin we trust".

  20. I'm disappointed in how quickly you jump to conclusions. "This crap" you refer to is the fact that every President since FDR has added the words "so help me god" to the oath they swear on the Bible; where previously it was a strictly optional commodity, it has become a de facto standard response at inauguration. Still, surely you picked up on my facetious tone when I referred to it as a 'flagrant violation of separation of church and state', or the strange anecdote about racial oppression following it? If not, I suppose I can't fault you too much, the Internet being a largely monotone communication medium and all. What? You said: Which is obviously false but then somehow I didnt catch the hidden meaning of your post and you REALLY meant the addition of "so help me god"? Whatever. Im curious, does the addition of "so help me god" in some way make it more significant then merely swearing on the bible?
  21. Um, how was it introduced in the 1950's when he swore oath on the same bible that Lincoln was sworn in on? Do you just make this crap up on the fly?
  22. This is what scares the crap out of me. I think I'd cry like a Sally if I logged on one day and my toon was standing there in his underwear. To those more savvy then I, is there a way to check an addon for trojans / virus / loggers? Can you pump the file through an antivirus program or anything like that? How do people protect against that or is it just the luck of the dice?
  23. Thanks for the link MC. Can it generally be considered "safe" to D/L from that site (do they check out the add-ons for trojans / worms)?
  24. You're probably right. I dont run any addons as Im paranoid Im going to accidentally download some logging trojan.
