  1. Off topic and having nothing to do with a Sci-Fi show, the Toba catastrophe theory proposes that the low level of variation we see today in human DNA was due to the preceding event reducing the human population to 1000-10000 breeding pairs.
  2. Here is a monster thread on CQC, complete with some of the dev's chiming in on why that style was chosen.
  3. Iirc, it was stated by one of the developers that they chose that style primarily because it "looks cool". Meaning, CQC was always intended to be in the game and they also wanted one thats fun/looks good. In that case your going to want to avoid the trailer that has MT and some bad guy about two feet away from each other going all full auto on each other.
  4. Im going to assume thats a typo and you dont in fact weigh

  6. This is going to sound crazy but hear me out. I have a theory that weight gain/loss has less to do with what you eat and more to do with your metabolism. Ive always been tall and skinny (6'3" / 197 lb) but for a while there in my early thirties I started to gain weight and eventually topped out at 230 lbs. About a year of 5-days-a-week working out with weights and running and basically being on the Atkins diet and I dropped to a lean, mean, 192 lbs. Fast forward now 5 years or so of not working out at all and eating everything that doesnt get out of my way fast enough and I still maintain a range of 194-198 lbs. Whats different? IMO, as my body started to age my metabolism started to slow and that years worth of working out jump started my metabolism back to a previous level. Either that or I have tapeworms.
  7. Man, Im glad Im so sexy the women just come to me. I kid, Im married and am so far out of practice I probably couldnt pick up a girl in a whorehouse with a fistfull of 100 dollar bills. And yes, theyre all crazy.
  8. I think a typical break heals in 6 weeks. Ive never actually broken a bone so Im not sure on that.
  9. Wizards are scions of arcane magic. Wizards tap the true power that permeates the cosmos, research esoteric rituals that can alter time and space, and hurl balls of fire that incinerate massed foes. Wizards wield spells the way warriors brandish swords. Magic lured you into its grasp, and now you seek to master it in turn. You could be a bespectacled sage searching for dusty tomes in forgotten sepulchers, a scarred war mage plying foes with fireballs and foul language in equal measure, a disgruntled apprentice who absconded with your master's spellbooks, an eladrin upholding the magical tradition of your race, or even a power-hungry student of magic who might do anything to learn a new spell. A cloak of spells enfolds you, ancient rituals bolster your senses, and runed implements of your craft hang from your belt. Effervescing arcane lore pulses through your consciousness, a constant pressure craving release. When will you know enough magic to storm the ramparts of reality itself?
  10. I never get the annual flu shot and I never get the flu. I very rarely even get sick but when I do its a doozy.
  11. Cool video. Lol, I hope what you see MT do around the 4 minute mark isnt the sneak animation. Apparently if you slightly hunch over nobody will hear you running up behind them.
  12. IIRC, most laptops use a modular design for their optical readers in case you ever want to swap out a CD/DVD for say a 3.5" drive. You should be able to flip the laptop over and somewhere near the slot for the drive should be a release switch that will allow you to slide out the drive in one piece. At that point you will see a sticker on the drive with the manufacturer and part number so all you have to do is call Gateway if you want the exact thing again or simply cross reference that part on the intertube.

He could never pull it off.
  14. Yeah, I was just happy to see Iron Man 2 and Spiderman 4 still on schedule. Captain American and Thor are of slight interest and The Avengers not at all.
  15. Arent the responces timed too? Meaning you have to respond in seconds?

Probably not. My guess is that she reels out those comments to gauge your reaction/interest level in her.
  17. ^The one caving in on itself? I thought that was Earth's moon.
  18. Wait, what? Are you referring to this story where a Chinese jet rammed our recon plane over international waters?

    TV: Heroes

Sylar rocks. I was a little surprised he didnt take his fathers powers. Whats the story with him, can he now absorb powers via proximity like they showed in the episode where he takes Electric Girls power while they are in the cell together or not? The hunter being the bald guy after all the heroes? I dont think he has one. Mrs. Petrelli power, iirc, is mind reading so I think she just read his mind and found some deep dark secret about something bad he did back in the day.
  20. Whoa, awesome trailor! Sylar makes for an excellent looking Spock.
  21. That was set in the old West, right? I remember liking that show quite a bit.
