I always had a great time in Memphis, what I remember of it anyway. There were sketchy parts even back in the 90's. ^Yeah, we were over families house for Thanksgiving and when things were wrapping up my brother in law and his fam were excitedly getting ready to go Black Friday shopping (which starts Thursday). And I asked him "where you going?" and he rattles off three stores, then I ask "is it some deal that you can only get in-store" and he says "no its available online too". So I say "why go wrestle the crowds if you can have it delivered to your front door?"...and the answer was "we just like the shopping experience / excitement". Ug. The madhouse is exactly what I hate about Christmas shopping.
