Lol, my bad. I thought you were joking around about actual boomerangs being less deadly than guns. Disregard my rant about the inefficiency of boomerangs.
Ive heard of that technology before and I guess it would be useful for telling people which direction not to run. Or in prolonged attacks. But in this case it was over before the cops even stormed his hotel door.
Its got to be hard as hell to hunt with a boomerang. I assume you are trying to strike the target with the initial throw and the "boomerang" action is only if you miss? How is that in any way superior to a similar technological level, the sling and stone? Ive tried throwing a boomerang a few times, almost took an eye out.
Sadly even my beloved drones would not have helped in this situation. He seems to have killed himself after emptying his first 2-3(?) magazines?
Bolt action would definitely cut down on the body count. Or boomerangs.
And maybe times have changed, but I distinctly remember going to various gun shows back in the day and seeing right there for sale a self printed ~10 page manual for how to convert AR and AK-series weapons to full auto. And what! Just down there is a small bag of parts? *winkwink*nudgenudge* I'm sure the same is available online if one were to look.
Or have they clamped down on that sort of thing now a days?
Theres an estimated 300M guns in the US. I definitely would not want to be the dude whos job it is to go door to door collecting them. He's going to die of lead poisoning.
I'm astonished by the number of casualties. 500+ not counting the 58 fatalities! Seriously?! I can only imagine the vast majority is trampling damage.
I was going to mention that the windows in Las Vegas hotels are only capable of opening ~1-2" (to deter jumpers). Looks like this guy shot them out. Perhaps bullteproof glass?
And guns seem less dangerous than stampedes.
As pointed out, almost any semi-automatic weapon can be converted to full automatic in under 10 minutes. An AR-15 modified to full auto can shoot approximately 2 rounds per second. So if we consider the 27 seconds of firing time he should only have been able to get off ~60 rounds. People are reporting "hundreds" of rounds fired so I wonder if he was dual wielding fully automatic weapons or if he had help.
Las Vegas Shooting Near Mandalay Bay Casino Kills 50.
Lets do a little napkin math:
1) We don't know the length of the second two bursts but lets assume the worst case scenario, 9 more second each, for a total of 27 seconds total firing time.
2) 456 casualties / 27 seconds = 16.89 casualty per second! I wonder how many of the 406 were shot and how many are injured from running away.
A great American hero, Dan Bilzerian, was there and left to get his gun. Unfortunately, the cowardly geriatric shooter shot himself before Dan could storm the hotel room.
What the hell, Europe. The currency sign is on the wrong end, theres an unnecessary gap where the comma should be, and said comma should be a decimal point!
Anyway, Google says that equals $59,063.50 at todays exchange rate! Crikey!
Its a beautiful day, blue skies with no clouds, going to be 70something. Ah, I love days like today. Went fishing and didnt catch anything but thats ok. Its getting pretty crowded over by my fishing hole so I think Ill switch to Sundays which seems to have less people. I'm feeling the urge to get my daydrink on and my neighbor is renoing his kitchen so Ill probably go stand around over there and be the tool monkey. But I'm always watching and learning.
But seriously, haven't you heard the raging debate going around the internet lately? That's a screen grab from the movie Valkyrie and the Twitterverse is in deep debate as to whether he is sporting a prosthetic booty. He says nay, its all real, and its spectacular.
