First of all, consumer power never ever works in reality. Second, Im going with the "play, but dont pay" alternative. They think they can rip me off? Ill rip THEM off. Dont like it? Stop publishing games then, its a free world.

I would call a lot of the DLC strategies used today, unethical. Charging extra for something that should have been included in the main product, or even actually including it and then charging for unlocking it is just plain wrong. I would even go as far as to say that this type of bussiness practise should be criminalized, because we cant allow companies to do whatever the hell they want in search of profit. Thats not democracy, thats idiocy.

Sweden only stopped (for financial reasons) using mandatory military service a few years ago, although escaping it had been quite easy for a couple of years before then. I didnt have to do it because Im born late in the year and all the slots had already been filled. I also have some 'issues with authority' I dont think its a good idea though, soldiers probably need a great deal of motivation and you dont get that if you force people into the military.

Still, the perfect trolling is when no one realises they've been trolled.

I finally saw Avatar in 3D. It was cool, but the depth-of-field really drives you crazy. Like there is a room full of people and only one guy in the middle is in focus, your eyes/brain are trying to get other things in focus as you look around but you cant because the film itself is blurry. The pure CGI scenes are better because the're not restricted by physical lens limitations, but they still play around with CG depth of field effects which makes your eyes pop out of your head from strain

I hate web games, yet all I do these days is make graphics for them. Teh irony But on what I did today; we have this guy at work who is a bit of a newbie and drives me crazy with questions all the time. So my subconscious is rebelling on my conscious mannered side and blurts out smack talk about this guy whenever I relax. It's like a kind of beligerent tourettes syndrome thing. And I think he's heard me one time too many, cause now he just quietly went home without saying goodbye like he usually does. I wonder if there is medication for what Ive got?

It was kind of fun. Not even close to the hype, but it was playable and had tons of charm.

My phone, a dirty old piece of crap, has categories so I can sort people into work, friends etc. and screen calls based on that. If I dont want to talk work, I dont answer when they call

French fans of Max Payne did. Man, that was horrible. With localized voice overs, what did you expect? They get like a 1000th of the budget for the main english VO's. The general rule is to play in the language it was made in, and only swithc for cheap laughs (the swedish voices for 'heavenly sword' are hillarious.. they used the same actors who dub disney cartoons)

Having full VO for all characters including the PC is industry-standard. I thought it felt really weird in DA when my character just stood there quiet like a moron. The original "no voice for the PC" schtick was just a cost-cutting measure, I dont think it had anything to do with roleplaying immersion. Though, the VO has to be top-notch for the PC, otherwise the game might be hillarious in the bad way (like german RPGs)

Avalanche arent exactly renowned for caring much about quality of.. well, anything. So Im not touching this. The first game was so broken it was a joke, its baffling how the studio can still keep open.

The bad news is that things ****ed up and I have to work weekend to make it up (never trust chinese or eastern european graphics outsourcing companies), but the good news is that I have the entire renderfarm available to myself to play with.

Atleast you get to actually PLAY those games instead of watching a giant 7-hour cutscene with annoying QTE's every 20sec. ..and seriously, where is this plethora of bad 3rd person cover-based shooter you keep talking about?

This game is an abomination and a threat to the world of computer games. If it sells well, it will mean a rebirth of QTE's like the world has never seen. Luckily, the reviewers are pretty unanimous in their opinion that it stinks.
