It's funny how that works - after they do two novels about geographical distinctions disappearing, they still couldn't follow it in their own game. Her appearance can probably be explained by this hypothetical scenario in the art department. "Hey, didya hear they got Sarah from Chuck to do Mirandas VO?!!" "Dude, that is friggin sweet!" "Only thing is, I wish the model was as hot as she is. To do the voice justice, you know?" "Well... why dont we trash that old crap and model a new one that looks just like Yvonne Strahovski?" "AWESOME. Lets do that." ..and what scandinavian last name? Lawson? Strahovski?

Ive out grown "point-and-click" RPG gameplay. The only way Im going to prefer that over actual direct control is if its turnbased thats as good as Silent Storm, and that will never ever happen again in an AAA title. Word, Voles.

Your ignorance baffles me. Do you not know that Mass Effect is classified as a Shooter/Action-Adventure/RPG hybrid?

It would have been more awesome if the man would have been modeled after Sheen, but as they probably had him deisgned before they signed Jed bartlett to do his voice its ok. It's even more awesome than when World in Conflict managed to get Alec Baldwin to do their VO.

It sound alot like she is stringing you along for some reson or other. Maybe shes not sure about the whole deal, or shes just scared to say "not interested" so she goes out with you to be nice. I would start looking for other opportunities, you should come off a date thinking "Ive got a good feeling about this" not going home pissed and confused.

Mostly its just a question of choosing the right weapon for your playing style and not rushing mad into the action. If you go in all gung-ho, then you WILL get shot/knifed from behind or the flanks while your busy shooting stuff. A friend of mine just loves diving headfirst into the action and today was one example NORBERT: CHAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!!!!! ME: Man, there Norbert goes off again. I think I count to five, see how long before he gets shot. DOGBERT: Nah, he got shot in the face with a SPAS12 while you were half-sentence. ME: Oh.. that has to be some kind of record. DOGBERT: Not really, he did the same thing yesterday. *all names are completely fictional

I tried GTA4: Libery City Episodes, Id forgotten how butt-ugly GTA4 is on the 360. My eyes are trying to leap out of my skull form the torture.

Unreal has always been very moddable, all they would really have to do is to enable you to start UnrealED with a simple "-editor" in the command line. They might be using specialised tools and so on, but youd still be able to do things like new textures and so on. I think the "no mods" thing is a pure bussiness decision because they dont want the hassle of supporting a mod community.

Not really... Who the one really bad guy is or what nationality he has is not really important in the big picture though. Did we play the same game? Because the game I played wasn't patriotic at all... You need to listen to the pre-level speaches again then. It's all stuff like "We are the most powerful war nation in the history of man" said with a ridiculously masculine voice and with complete seriousness. Or "Every fight is our fight blah blah". No. No, it's not. Anyhow, the entire game screams of US patriotic war propaganda. It's actually a bit worrying that none of you even reacted to this. It probably means it sounds natural to you, which is what all propaganda is about: making the extremist sound natural. I hate when I sound like Yuushi or whatever that left wing nut in the Off topic forum is called! Why do you hate freedom, mkreku? Why?!

I tried to play as male Shepard once but I couldnt stand the VO either. The female version has a nicer bum aswell, which is important as you're going to be staring at it everytime you walk somewhere.

Im replaying ME right now and the time you spend in combat compared to traditonal RPGs is very short. There is no "not another damn cave of friggin' goblins!" combat fatigue.
-
Yeah, I dont think I ever saw an option to do that.

First of all, Mass Effect is pure awesomeness and anyone who hasnt played it should buy it. It's without a doubt Biowares best game and one of the most entertaining gaming experiences of all time. And secondly, BG1 was mostly a grindfest with very little story and character. BG2 expanded the concept into something real.

I was thinking about getting it, but Id feel like a complete idiot to buy ME twice.

You don't need a revolver, you want a rocket launcher. And the cold blooded perk. I'm going to prestige soon, but I want my 500 headshots with the ACR ( I need less than a hundred). Plus I need another 22 kills with the FMJ attachment. I wonder which I'll hit first. The magnum is LETHAL when using it Akimbo, and not to shabby by itself either. You can use it as a sniper rifle. I use the Thumpgun as my backup most of the time, it drives people insane with rage but when you absolutely positively have to lob shots over terrain, its essential. p.s I actually have a positive K/D ratio in MW2 as opposed to COD4. Its way easier to find a gun to suit your playing style in MW2 (I use AUG or ACR)

Today is the 24th, which is the date we Swedes celebrate jul, a holiday originating in the ancient traditions of the winter solstice celebrations. This festivity was sometimes called midvinterblot (mid-winter sacrifice) and involved sacrificing grain, animals and people to the gods in order to get a nice spring and rich crops. Nowadays, we celebrate the giving of presents and the binge-drinking and eating of traditional food. And up until the 20th century, we didnt have a "jultomte" (christmas gnome/santa) so we had the jul-goat instead. Sometimes someone would dress up as the jul-goat, but usually you just had straw goats kind of like halloween pumpkins. The famous giant christmas goat of G

There was never any hope for the summit to reach any kind of functional agreement in the first place. Countries like China have everything to gain on maintaining free CO2 emissions, and very much to lose economicly if they were forced to cut down on pollution. Naturally, they're not going to agree to anything that would halt their economic growth, even if it wrecks the planet. We've got a stalemate like the old Nato vs. Soviet that completely crippled the UN for 40 years. Kyoto had some very clever scheming behind the curtains which made it more succesful despite the US refusing to sign, but theres no tricking anyoe this time.

Goverments are democraticly elected to follow the will of the people, Companies are completely feudal Are you mad? Companies spend all their time panicking about people not buying their products or services. The problem isn't the capability, it's the delivery of that capability. I've been giving this quite a bit of thought recently, off and on, and reckon you need something like a consumer union, with legally binding group behaviour. So when people say they will boycott they actually have to do so. Set something liek that up and the banks would absolutely wet themselves. That is the problem right there, it only works if enough people do it and they NEVER do. But I do think the companies would get very worried if we could actually get a consumer union going.
