I think its a very interesting idea and I would go ahead with it no matter what people might say CRPG fans are very hard to please and theyre usually extremely conservative while at the same time demanding new things.

Why thankyou, madam. Most kind of you! Mkreku, so when we grow up and graduate we can start a company where you do all the boring stuff like programming and I do all the cool stuff like design and graphics? -

Just out of the blue while were talking BG, is it a good idea to run BG1 with that Tutu thingie that allows you to play with BG2's interface and resolution? -
I think its bloody disgusting, and I cant imagine why one would want to drink it when there is beer.

Its much more relaxed here.. hell, I know the guys at the IT department are running ATLEAST one site themselves and theres a special DC hub just for students. The core of the fiasco with these apartments is that its not the Studentk -
I dont know why you worry about X3 when the first two movies werent exactly quality cinema to begin with. The whole thing has never been about anything else than a lot of hollywood producers making a ton of cash by selling mediocre movies that get lots of free hype because theyre based on a popular comic. With Sin City being the only exception, hollywood comic films generally SLAUGHTER the original beyond recognition. Its like McDonalds hearing about Sushi and comming up with McRawherring

Today I had concept art the entire morning and double lectures in the afternoon, my brain feels sort like somekind of foam or perhaps a very light plaster-like material. -The program is the sweetest there is -I live in a 25m2 apartment in the student village about a kilometer from Uni -600mbit at school... but they *** us in the *** here and arranged a deal with Comhem instead of Sunet so Ive only got 0.5 upgradable to 8/1 There are apartments that have 100mbit but the waiting line is loooong -Dude, game design aint exactly girlie stuff " ...which means we've got 3 girls, whereof one is good looking. A great step up from previous years that had 100% male students -
It would be even funnier if WoW had permanent character death "

Id love to start the Vampy game as soon as possible but so far its only you and Archmonarch whos reported any interest, I will need atleast 3 players. Linky: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...76entry453276 -
As Im now all set up with a connection in my apartment, the game will start as soon as possible. I will need atleast three players befor we can start, so far Ive recieved interest from Musopticon Archmonarch And now that I know my University schedual, Ill be available for play after 1600 UTC weekdays and anytime except 0200-0800 UTC on weekends(because thats when I sleep)
-
Ive got my connection now.. so are we on this friday?

Ladies and Gentlemen! I finally got my connection so I am from now on, completely available for all those unsavory activities which I used to participate in before. (random picture of the day)

Yeah, well ok... having friends in the ISP bussiness I know full well that its usually just to save money by saving bandwidth. but as for caps, I had a friend who was a backoffice tech at Tiscali and they didnt do anything until a user had reached 1000gb/month at which they called and gave them a warning. So fussing about 3gb is insanely cheap
-
Thankyou, that was actually a source of frustration for me. Ill do some more Zbrush tutorials when I get home, I have quite a lot of time to spare now that my schedual is less tight but I just cant seem to make myself get as far into it as I want to. If youre lucky, you might get a render or two when i finally get a connection at my apartment.

I still maintain my stance that babies are not cute, wonderful, adorable or special in any way. Theyre the same decaying organic matter as everything else. When I see a baby, I just see another "Johan, the inane office assisstant" just 30 years before he grows up to properly fill that slot. Another baby, another brick in the wall to be

Today- download caps, tomorrow- deathcamps for anyone who has ever downloaded as much as a tiny little mp3 without paying for it.. FIGHT BACK BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!! (and the new battlestar galactica is the shiznitz)

Im sitting here with a brick called "On game design" by Adams & Rollins and Im wondering who else, besides the tiny handful of game design students there are worldwide, is meant to read this stuff? Most of what it says is quite obvious to anyone who has more than a casual interest in computer games. I understand the purpouse behind books that tell you actual hard fact, advice how to program advanced collision detection f.ex, but I cant see any point to this except to milk poor students like me of their hard earned money. ..AND it says that BioWare made Planescape: Torment
-
Yes it does. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where/how? The manual and the tutorials neglected to mention any other way than cklicking the rotate icon and doing it that way. There is of course a command for rotating the object (e something) but I just want to be able to rotate the view so I can see what Im doing.
-
Well, I know what i like.. Normalmaps and advanced shaders on EVERYTHING :D

From the doodles Ive done so far I can say that Zbrush seems to be the fastest and most intuitive 3D program Ive come across. Comparing 3DSmax or Maya with Zbrush is like comparing Architecture with Sculpture. We're using 3DSmax as our standard program but we can use Maya if we want to, I think Ill abandon trying to learn 3DSmax because modelling is just so much easier and faster with Maya. And thats not because Ive used it more, its because it has a better interface that allows for quicker access to functions. I mean, 3DSmax doesnt even have a quick comand for rotating the view!!

But we should be able to point out the various poor decisions taken by LA and the consequences of them for OE and the development and release of K2. This is legitimate critiscism, not bashing.
-
From what we've all heard, LucasArts have not behaved in a very pleasant or agreeable manner towards OE or the fans of K2. They stay true to their reputation as one of the worst publishers in existance. And what we've heard is probably just the tip of the iceberg of whats really been going on between OE and LA.

A full-length CRPG is nowadays around 20 hours, finishable in half that time if you rush it. We get more candy but less gametime. Didnt Sawyer give some "how the bussiness thinks" microlecture the last time we brought this up? That games made for 20+ yearolds with real lives on the side cant be 100hour behemoths

The trend today and tomorrow is to blend RPG/adventure and some form of action into one another. The bussiness doesnt care about grumpy old traditionalists, it wants to sell games that everyone that as many people as possible will buy. There is this idea that actiongamers cant appreciate combat without a direct input, so everything is leaning more towards 'twitch gaming'
