I would have popped in sooner but I didnt get my access to the schoolnetwork til today and I havent even got my computer yet (just a suitcase with the most basic stuff) so my presence here will be random until I get everything fixed up. The "nollning" is ok, except the idiots paired us 1337 gamedevs with economy students so its just me and the leaders who are from my department. I would like to know the people in my class first before.. and since Im eating penicilin for my wisdom tooth, I cant drink that much either.. gah The education seems really awesome, we've got more gadgets and thingies than any other scandinavian Uni(including that sweet professional grade MoCap studio) and the teachers are from everywhere from L.A to Australia. Its also completely focused on game design, when we finish, we will be fully ready to take a job at a major developer. ...and we're almost all CRPG fanatics :D

But ATI = no DirectX Shader Model 3.0 + a whole lot of bugs, you should seriously wait til their new cards come out before purchasing an ATI card. That sex sells is one of the biggest myths of our society, it is completely false. As Fishboot says, noone will buy a game just because it has voluptuous women on the cover or in it. It is of course true of all types of products and advertising. I have to admit I look a little longer at an ad that has a gorgeous woman on it but it doesnt in the least make me want to purchase the product. In fact, Ive learnt to automaticly ignore advertising. Its just background noise. And of course we have exhibit A- the sales figures of such excellent movies as "Barb Wire" or those other quality films Ive since long ereased from my memory :D

Ive moved all the important stuff and some of the not so importat stuff onto my new drive so Im fine when it does go boom. Its been fine today though, no clicking. Not the SATA models I hope? Cause my new drive is a WD Caviar 160gig SATA

Ive had one HD crash before and its the worst thing that can break. Its sort of like if your house would burn down and take all your stuff with it.. and it sucks to go from having 360gig of space to 160

After just one year my Maxtor 200gb has begun to make clicky noises at odd times. Most of what Ive read about this is that its a sign that it will cave in soon so Im hurrying to get all the stuff to my other HD which unfortunantly is only 160gig so Im going to have to leave stuff behind Its already getting slower, It takes 5min to copy a gig of data from it. But the strange thing is that when it first went click 2 days ago, I discovered the IDE cable was a bit loose so I put that back and then it stopped. Coincidence? p.s Im sure glad that I didnt go for RAID, then Id be f*cked
