That RPGs have to contain realtime action combat to sell is one of those classic misconceptions that some idiot bastard publisher go into their heads. The same applies to the RTS vs. TBS row. Good, well-made games sell well. Thats the only rule there is. Most people Ive talked to think Fallouts combat ws a lot more fun than Olbivions where its more of something you need to do rather than something you play the game for.

Sometimes, when The Daily show and Colbert Report is REALLy good, I find myself in a state that can only be described as a hypercharged cosmic orgasm of laughter. Oblivion isnt the kind of game ID want a C.E of but if you like fluff then go ahead, the PC C.E is actually cheapert than the 360 regular version

But if the AI is in fact ruining the game, then it isnt especially well-made no matter how you twist it. An AI is there to simulate a person in a way thats fun for the actual player. This has nothing to do with my example but; Any AI could detect that an action flagged as criminal has been occured at coordinate X,Y and cause all Town guards to move to that position and approach the offending PC in arrest mode. A good AI would react if a townsperson was in the area, actually saw the crime being comitted(not just magicly detected it), ran to the townsguard and told them about it whereupon the available guards would follow the townsperson back to the scene of the crime and investigate. Then they would go door to door asking witnesses.. well, you get it And that was really just a ramble. I think Oblivion is fine as it is, perhaps it would need more scripting around events, such as when you stumble across an Oblivion gate 150m form a city and there is NO way you can alert anyone that its there until you complete the part of the quest that flags that you can now discuss the Oblivion gate with the townspeople.

I just had a curious AI moment. I was in a city looking for some naughty people, then I saw the guards rushing by so I followed them and they ran right to the people I was lookin for and killed them Damn you radiant AI for stealing my quest!! *shakes fist*

But seriously, I dont like to play CRPGs multiplayer. Ill do a couple of singeplayer modules and leave it at that.

If youve done a bad build so enemies are overpowering then you could open the console and write player.setlevel X where X is the level you want to be, it doesnt change any stats except your level so you can use it to adjust the difficulty of the opponents. OR you could just turn down the difficulty " edit: Im not cheating at Oblivion, I used PlayerMenuRace to fine tune my appearance and that ****ed upp all my skills so I had to set them back and that screwed my levels up aswell.

Thats just your bizarre opinion. If you go and ask a random guy on the street he would say that Fantasy is Magic&Dragons and Lasers and starships isnt. Am I the only one who turned on HDR lighting in Oblivion and went "Hmm, this doesnt really look good at all" and switched it back off? All it did was add this weird blurry glaring to everything. edit: screenshots still doesnt work, which button do I press and where does it put them? In the memory or in a folder as images?
