  1. I voted for Tool. They have great songs and theyre pure magic to see live. But mostly it is a personal choice because theyve meant alot to me through those vital late teens and theyve become associated with a lot of good times. should probably speak of Tool in past tense though. they havent been active as a group since 2001
  2. I just prefer to use plain weapons and lower the diffiuclty instead. The way magic weapons glow is ugly and I hate having a friggin sword run out of ammo Oh, and I finally managed to scrape together enough cash to buy that sweet house in Skingrad ) but now I have to money left to buy furniture or health potions and stuff "
  3. Did someone call for.. THE HOFF
  4. You can actually use the sigil stones? Even if your character sucks at magic? It is REALLY annoying to have to recharge your magic items, its even worse than having to stop mid-combat to repair your weapons&armour because those recharging stone thingies arent as common as hammers
  5. The very latest incarnation of our Lady D is totally sweet. Not only do they break the artistic guidelines (dont draw closeups of her ass, boobies and/or crotch. dont draw her with her legs spread, dont draw her on all four with her legs spread) on every other page, but shes also no longer undead so the whole necrophilia issue has been resolved. The downside is that its still completely retarded. "
  6. On the topic of boobies, its great to see how the artists on Lady Death have really nailed those neat physics "
  7. One thing that made me question Bethesda is that theyve apparently used 3dsMAX character studio* with premade "bipods" to do most of their animations. Thats is not very proffessional. *character studio is a part of MAX that lets you easily animate walk and run cycles for humanoid characters by supplying readymade bones/skeletons that you just click a few buttons to make them walk. The problem is that its both bugged and gives you less control than if you had made your own rig.
  8. Dont you people recognise bait when you see it?
  9. The point of distributing games online(our way) is to eliminate as much of the cost and hassle of distribution as possible. Sure, having a CD and a nice box to put on the shelf is great but if we didnt do that, youd be able to buy games at 60% of the cost and most of that money would go directly to the developer. Steam is a bad example of such a service because its extremely intrusive and impractical. That applies to most copy protection applications aswell.
  10. Nope. When you buy something, your purchase will be stored in the database and youll be able to download it again if you have any trouble
  11. Actually, I think Jews and Muslims would consider that even more offensive " p.s you can make bacon out of turkey?
  12. The weirdest AI moment was yesterday. I had a mission to liberate some rather nasty things from a dungeon guarded by humans. I sneak in and locate the cells but theres a guard there and Im not good enough at sneaking to lockpick them while sneaking so I was about to give up when the guard, after staring at a wall for 5min, suddenly goes up to a cell and unlocks it, whereupon the prisoners rush out and kill him and all the other guards in the dungeon. WTF?!
  13. Thats strange, you shouldnt be able to run both HDR and AA simultaneously.
  14. Then let me just add to to your tomes of trivial knowledge that I have yet again done my usual thing and realised halfway through the game that my build is completely off and that Ive had to resort to cheating to make it playable. ( changed my class with ShowClassMenu ) ( Ill say as Mkreku, do not take persuasion as a class skill ) p.s but its not my fault that Bethesda are completely incompetent at writing manuals. I shouldnt have to buy a strategy guide to be able to figure out what is useful and what isnt.
  15. I always hated this. I never liked the static nature of monsters, the idea of fighting "low level enemies" that level up as you do is beyond awesome. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So youre one of those types who like hacking level 46 rats in EQ? " But you have to balance this approach, too. FO1&2 is a good example, sure theres the Enclave or minugun-equipped supermutants but theres also raiders and other lowlifes that are just as fun to combat even though you kill them with one shot.
  16. I really, really liked "From Hell" though. And "The league of extraordinary gentlemen" was lots of fun.
  17. The ideal "balancing" is to set the progression of the PC and the difficulty of his opponents so that: He is challenged enough to keep him on his toes but without becomming frustrated As the PC levels up and gains access to better equipment, he is sometimes pitted against lower level opponents so that he can really feel that he has become more powerful. At lvl1 you combat kobolds. At levl 20 you combat dragons.. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PLAYER MEET LVL20 KOBOLDS!!! in short. you could write a 400page book about this.
  18. You should be able to buy the TPB anywhere you can get comics. I even saw a hardcover, swede translated version at my local bookstore. But, IMO its not really that good. But on the other hand I didnt like "watchmen" either, and many people love that.
  19. Youd better change these plans of yours to a lettuce-cookout right away not to piss off the vegans. And it better be organic and ethicly grown lettuce, none of that cheap taiwanese child-labour lettuce.
  20. I dont care if I get it or not, Ill gladly jump at any chance I get to spew forth bitter complaints I was so sure U2 would number one on that list... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The thing with U2 is that theyre not even worth complaining about. Theyre the kind of band that people who dont really like music listen to.
  21. I dont think hes quite right at grouping APC with Tool, though. Tool were amazing but APC is just Smashing Pumkins feat. Maynard James Keenan But nowadays I just get the feeling that music has died creatively. I havent heard anything new that was actually NEW in years, and none of the bands that sound like copies of old bands are any good either. I wonder if the thousand monkeys with a thousand electric guitars have finally wrote every song that could be written? Lets face it, there is only a set number of combinations of notes that can be put together so that it sounds good and weve been churning out tunes for 400 years now (not counting Hildegard von Bingen and the lot)
  22. So whats the background, some intergalactic fantasy nerd built a large Dyson Sphere just to muck around in?
  23. Now I might have labeled this thread wrongly, I was at A game dev conference, not THE http://www.gdconf.com/ I was at a conference for Indie game develpers even if there were people from some published devs there too like DiCE, the Red Orchestra guys and IO
  24. I played the first game, went "Uh, so my task is to hop through these ruins and shoot random animals? Whats the point of that?!" and Ive never touched the franchise since then
