  1. Most people would rate druid as top 3 most powerful class. It is not as powerful as a priest, no, but no class is. Priest > Wizard > Druid is my top 3
  2. Let's not make Potd worse than it is >.< Two front-liners are plenty to keep 4 squishies safe in any encounter on Potd, it's all about positioning and a little bit of micro.
  3. A wizard wouldn't really take any damage in this fight, his buffs are too strong at that point. Also I don't see how he would get surrounded, unless he did it on purpose. There is both a natural choke point and corners, in this fight. A paladin/Chanter with investment in lore would kill that encounter rather quickly, just spam a few spell scrolls. With 8+ lore it would be a slaughter. Yeah I tried Cali solo with no kiting or pulling on Potd. A tanky Wiz would not take damage here with buffs, surrounded or not. But I would just fight in a choke point, maybe pop a few summons in front, then spam AoE. Solo tanky Priest/Wizard's with Sanguine can clear bounties at level 11, I know this from experience. A Chanter or Paladin wouldn't need the summons, but definitely not need kiting, either. If I was solo with one of those I would have lore enough to clear the fight with scrolls, if I wanted to be quick. They would both be tanky in a solo run. A tanky priest haven't met his full potential, yet, at level 10/11 for sure, but he can be very durable.. and can level the fight with his own spells or scrolls in little time. Later he will be the, arguably, strongest class in the game. Such a fun class to play after avatar kicks in! ^^ You plan to start popping out videos when PoE2 hits, @boeroer ? I have wondered how you play, after reading comment from you here on the forum. You are clearly very knowledgeable, but I imagine you have a unique play style. My impression is you like Monk/Barb classes a lot and I noticed you prefer to play with no injuries from knockdowns. Which made me think you must have a lot of knockdowns outside solo play? I would be curious to see for sure.
  4. I am surprised a fight vs Cail the silent could be that 'hard' for a level 11 character. A wiz or priest would level him in less than a minute. A Chanter/Paladin wouldn't hardly take any damage in that fight, I am pretty sure. Barb is a late bloomer for sure..
  5. Aye I meant single weapon as in with no shield. Using Abydon's Hammer might be one of the more popular choices for late game blaster casters, it being two handed means not even a small shield can be held. It would be safer to go one handed with little savior, but imo you have little to fear once you get avatar, with a little common sense in your positioning and buffing.
  6. For a solo play you want to be a bit tanky, so I think your stat spread looks ok. I would definitely max might later, especially when you get avatar. With avatar you will be so powerful I might just go with a single weapon, for the accuracy boost in caster mode. Imo you will do best to plan 2-3 respecs for a solo run, as you find more powerful gear and gain better spells and abilities. Priests are later bloomers than most other classes.
  7. The load times are ridiculous, on POTD having to go through 8 load screens of 20-30 seconds to get an inn rest bonus + two new camp supplies, and get back down again, frustrated me a lot.
  8. How many different solutions would you say there are on average for each Quest? "Today, I'm working on a few odds and ends - bug fixing and miscellaneous features. Right now I'm looking into an occasional bug that causes party members to get stuck-in-place permanently after they get knocked down. That's no fun, so I'm going to fix it." That does indeed sound annoying, and were I in your shoes I would also want to fix this, which makes me feel there is a connection between you and me. We think alike you and me not wanting to have our characters stuck and all *brofist*
  9. If they need another year to make the game that's fine too, and none of you mini EA neck breathers are going to change that.
  10. Going on a hunch... I'd say you didn't watch the linked video. Further, yeah, I hope PE is not going to be punishing. Difficult on high difficulty settings yeah, but not punishing. Hard to disagree with a video I didn't watch. Units spawning behind you might be something you call punishing, a better player will simply adapt to such a thing and have a tanky character in the back, or summons etc. What some find punishing others find trivial, it is subjective.
  11. What is punishing and what is difficult is subjective to each individual. This fact makes most of the argument of the video you link to, fall apart. Imo What in Baldur's Gate 2 did you find punishing? What you answer will likely boggle many peoples mind since they disagree with you, and others might agree. If it can be prevented through proper buffing, positioning or scouting with stealth, then people who normally utilize those tools will find things trivial that people who doesn't utilize said tools will find punishing. I am guessing you post this in the Eternity forum, of all places, because you hope to influence PE to be a game that is not punishing, like 99% of all games out there. If that is your thought for posting this, here, may I ask why this game, too.. should be another in that mountain pile?
  12. 'But they just sell games!!?!1' The criteria s of the vote was not what company was in the darkest field of business, but how it was run.
  13. This logic only makes any sense if you think it should be standard practice to make money at any cost, making money of their products can be done in many ways. When a company picks a certain way of making money they open themselves up for criticism they might not receive were they going for a different approach.
  14. Are you finding yourself in a hurry to complete the games as you get older? If not, then I don't really see the logic in this notion. Who cares that you have to take more breaks to complete the game.. that you have to do it in 10 sessions instead of one 12-hour marathon session.
  15. Stoneskins, more stoneskins! That image is close enough to how I look... I guess
  16. What a finale! Seeing TrueNeutral shower in potions, makes me suspect a drinking problem? *
  17. Deeper Dungeons is the best. I love the levels with all the tunnelers. Am still slowly making my way through a solo game of BL2. I failed round 5 of the Ore Chasm arena 3 times (7 waves, only got to 6th wave, grr), so I've been farming the lava dragon for gear and leveling up a bit more. The first 4 rounds of that arena were pretty easy, the last one became crazy. Especially when you're trying to get the critical-hit sub-goal. You know it I still need to decide on a new game, though.. I guess I could consider dungeon keeper 2 but I might need a change *eye twitch*
  18. I just completed Dungeon Keeper - Deeper dungeons. I thought about Frapsing it and tossing up a Let's Play of it but didn't get around to it. Not decided what my next will be..
  19. Using barbarian as a general term is as much a choice as using Muslim as such, the diversity of either is irrelevant. In any case protesting against a blanket statement while making another in arguing against it, is the irony I wanted to point towards.
  20. Pretty much, i hope that France gets the balls for a total annihalation of those barbarians. Or rather capture each one of them and force them to slave labour and restore every single artifact while being forced to listen to Slayer - "Reign in Blood" in every waking hour. **** them and **** every piece of **** that support them. Luckily enough, i am not the one calling the shots here. Destroying cultural heritage really rubs me the wrong way. You know - us westerners are not really it position to call others Barbarians over such practices. There has been plenty of destroying cultural heritage throughout our history. I disagree that we can't get upset by there vandalism and call them barbarians, how do you think the Muslim community would have felt if the Americans had desecrated and destroyed Islamic mosques or religious sites in Iraq or Afghanistan? Except it wouldn't be done by believers of the same religion. In the end those sites are muslim and if muslims feel that they are blasphemous it's their call to make. Your point doesn't really make sense to me as there are different interpretations of Islam amongst Muslims and they have different places they consider holy in many cases. I would also say this has got nothing to do with religion but rather a lack of respect for objects or places that are considered sacred to some within Islam, so in other words barbaric behavior = barbarians Muslims behave worse than any barbarian ever did. I think Muslim behavior should be the term to use. Your point falls through when you defend Muslims against blanket statements and then do the very same thing against barbarians.
  21. ^ The string of likes you two toss at each others, it is almost romantic The dialogue wheel is an insult to a mind that is not on auto pilot. I know I am not alone with this opinion. Yes, I realize I should not expect others to be stimulated by the same things that works for me but a whole game split into baby talk sentences 'Goodie comment' - 'Sarcastic comment - I am hungry' and bad comments is underwhelming.. it is intellectually insulting. I am not 100% sure how your french teachers comment fits into this, but I know that it is common knowledge that teaching works when you use flatter. Nepenthe the open mind comment is either a lie or I misunderstand it. All the people who had pre-ordered the game, and didn't like it.. it is an interesting thought to consider they all threw money at the game and tried it with a negative mindset. But unlikely.
  22. For me I think they have learnt lessons. You can see from this blog that Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of DA3, that they are listening to fans and there feedback. http://blog.bioware....ii-inquisition/ So I expect a markedly improved game to DA2. I will be supporting them financially as I do still believe Bioware can deliver entertaining games. I don't think Bioware has learned their lessons, it is more customers like you who haven't. I say this based on how little it is required for you to already be decided upon tossing money at them when this title launches. The two things confirmed, dialogue wheel and voiced protagonist (that can only be one race) is not what I would call lesson learned.
