  1. Leather protects against heat, like a flame spell, better than a sweater, I would imagine. I also think I would prefer, say, a suitcase made of leather, as opposed to one made of wool =P Durability feels like it could be a reason for that.
  2. You became grossly overpowered in fallout, because of that. A walking demigod =/ Dragon Age 2 - with scaling system no matter what build you use, every battle will always be the same. Why would you mention Dragon age 2 to me like that, I haven't done anything to you..
  3. I have not played a game with increasing stats, yet, where it didn't lead to incredibly overpowered characters.
  4. I second that. I will not be touching my beta access, either. I always avoid any kind of spoiler for games to make sure it is as fresh as possible when I run through it.
  5. You almost get my point which is why I provoke him. I see too many pledgers who think they should 'dictate' things that, imo, they shouldn't. It is tiring to hear arguments based on the money this kickstarter collected and refreshing when people put forward a coherent argument. I don't get all the people who feels a need to decide what is the best use for the money.. they obviously had little faith in Obsidian to begin with, or want another game than was described by them from the start. I strongly hope Obsidian doesn't care a rats ass about all these threads with x,y and z wanting this and that, because their brains might melt if they did, by now. I have a lot of faith in Obsidian, which is why I have pledged based only on their promises, past works and one mock up screen shot. I was merely reacting to the argument that including romances does not mean any more resources need to be used just because there are no cinematics, by presenting our side of the debate. PS Do you think I am sufficiently provoked because I responded or is more aggro necessary? Having a lot of faith and voicing concerns such as how they should spend their backing funds can easily be seen in contrast. I am sorry if my provocation 'hit' harder than intended, I just wanted to make a point.
  6. "Hello, I've donated to your project promising to resurrect hard core games of old and I would like to voice my displeasure with you including old school hard core elements in it. Can't you make the game more like Mass Effect?" CTRL + Q to Enable/Disable GoPhoto.it This. I don't think it's fair, it is because of people like this OP that many old school gamers find themselves flocking to the kickstarter page, to help fund games like this upcoming RPG. Because you always scream for easier and easier and easier, simpler simpler simpler etc. How do people even end up backing a project like this when they the next week come and voice concerns about difficulty and game design (They were very clear on the project page about the type of game they were going to make). People who love Mass Effect are swimming in games. Why this, too?

  8. The companion interaction scenes do not write themselves and are not done in two hours in between design meetings (were they might be, if you work at Bioware). On a project like PE, with limited funding and people, effective usage of manhours is essential. But we've been over this already in this thread, several times, and we obviously do not agree with one another's premises. Yet you repeat it as if it is some golden nugget of an argument. The more depth they can squeeze into each companion the better. It is irrelevant if I want to explore them all as I play, personally, but it boggles the mind when people want to dictate if part of their writing should hold one thing or another. Anything that enhances is welcome, imo I am curious, since you happen to be mentioning this funding argument for the, likely, 100'th time, as far as I understand, during these threads. How much did you back this project with, yourself?
  9. Make portrait in that avatar creator, import it into the game. I don't see any need for it as part of the game.
  10. I did make that google search myself, but I could not find anything voiced by this Arthur Burghardt that seemed to resemble this deep voice with crystal clear pronunciation I heard in the prologue. I wonder if he would be a voice that could be heard in this game or if the staff has no contact to the man any more. It's one of the best voices I have heard in any case.
  11. Alright, I have a few question for people who might know of a specific narrator used back in the tales of the sword coast. At 3:17 in this video, introducing the PC to the werewolf island. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa6LWdx6HyY&list=SP335799D6C6735F4F&index=52&feature=plpp_video Does anyone know who he is and if he is still connected to, or used, by the obsidian staff?
