Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Tenjhotenge's topic in Computer and Console
In KOTOR it works, Jedi are not supposed to run out of force powers routinely. Actually my Guardian would run out if he went overboard. But while he was a very talented smuggler he wasnt really suited to be a Jedi anyway. There is nothing flawed about the mana system, which is the case with slots in a CRPG. Which makes it a good choice. It's only whether or not Bioware can apply it properly that is the issue. -
Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?

Could be , it's one of the reasons I didnt like it, it felt very hands off compared to BG/IWD. Fair enough. But if you are doing a system where you are all on your own then everyone needs their own way of being able to do a basic attack. DA isnt a solo game so I'm not at all worried about it. Everyone should be able to play their specialised role like they do in D&D (although not in NwN OC). -

Thats only a consequence of it being used for Diablo not the mana system. It's really no different to how an Amazon uses arrows, or a Paladin uses zeal. One character, you want to make sure that you dont have a lot of dead time. Add another 5 characters into the mix and put them all under the players control and spamming spells no longer becomes a factor. Restoring mana in combat is another thing entirely. One which having 6 characters should not require anyway anymore than IE wizards could burn through their spells in one or two encounters when thats the norm for NwN if your a wizard and you actually want to take an active combat role. That may be your idea of what spells are, but it is by no means a universal truth -
Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?

That's most peoples exposure to a mana based system. At least on here. However the only real difference is that instead of having spell slots you will be able to cast whatever you want whenever you want , mana permitting. So no more casting one fireball, resting to get it back, onto the next fight resting and so on. It's a lot like KOTOR Jedi dont have to choose whether to memorise force push, OR force pull you can "cast" whichever you need as the situation dictates as long as you have force points to do it. Mana systems are simply more versatile , the rest is in the implementation. -

Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Tenjhotenge's topic in Computer and Console
Thats fine, people are going to play for different reasons. We can know a lot about NwN II just from knowing about the D&D rules but that dosnt apply to Dragon Age. Dragon Age does plan to have two modules one written specifically for single player and one for multiplayer.Which seems like a very good idea given how different the two experiences are. One thing we do sort of know about Dragon Age is it currently has a mana based magic system rather than the D&D slot thing. -
Neverwinter Nights 2 or Dragon Age?

I'm very drawn to Dragon Age because it offers full party control in the same way BG and IWD did. NwNII has a lot riding on how good it's henchmen AI is. Dragon Age is also being written specifically for a computer to take advantage of what it is best at. Which means no one can whine about it. NwN II will have to be really special to avoid that been there done that feeling. Especially when measured up against the next gen consoles. As for better, who knows. Some people are totally fixated on D&D others loathe it. I doubt either game will change anyones mind. As a single player game though. I have to give DA the edge based on the BG games vs the AI henchmen in NwN. -
I never bothered getting any of the DVD's but now all three are being released in one package for

The name threw me for a minute there but the Takeshi's Castle thing gave it away. http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0001429/

Anyone know any starwars jokes?

Nah I was always going to rent or buy the Xbox version. Revan ignites his lightsaber which stutters and fails because of a bug. Malek then smashes him over the head with a 1 ton Xbox :D -
Restore your system to a previous setting.

If you like to drive then manual is the only way to go. If you just want your car to take you places , then automatic is much less effort.

I'd recomend those too. Thrawn is a very interesting character.

Used to play it a lot. Two weekends a month re inactment and two playing paintball. compared the bruises you get from a blunt metal weapon, paintballs are nothing. Worst thing I had happen was some paintball bruises on my neck and chest getting mistook for love bites. That one took a LOT of explaining and several phonecalls. Keep your goggles on unless your an idiot because the only real serious injury you can get is a paintball in the eye or blowback from a canister.

It's not like anyone takes the Tabloids that seriously. They are like comics for Adults. Only one step up from the enquirer. The Sun managed to annoy me. On two thirds of the page they had the story about the Black Watch and on the other third they had some scantily clad woman.Really bad taste I thought mixing the two.

I have a toy Dalek in the attic somewhere. It used to say exterminate ! Exterminate. I'm sure I remember them having anti gravity units in some episodes thoug.

It's an aquired taste :"> er never mind. Countries are never united except in times of war or following really awful events. But they still manage to muddle through anyway. Perhaps if you made the reasons for your dissalusionment more apparent ? Or why you think you would suffer under Bush.

Perhaps you are not rich enough yet Give it a couple of years.

People always take their ideologies with them whatever carrer path they choose. You cant just take off what have been your lifes foundations like you can an out of style jacket.

Psychology and Sociology. Whether or not there is a god isnt really whats relevent here. What is relevent is you wouldnt have a snowballs in hell chance of getting into the Whitehouse proudly proclaiming yourself an aethiest. It dosnt much matter whether you agree with it or disagree thats just how it is. If you for example wanted to be pres , then you would have to find religion

Yes but welfare really only encourages that. Take our blessed little isle. If you have a kid you skip to the front of the council house waiting list. Guess what that means. Yep we have shedloads of teenage mothers. I've known people get pregnant for that very reason. Plus we pay out pretty high on child benifits etc. In fact in many cases it's cheaper not to work because of the various benifits you can get , compared to what "contributions" you would have to pay out if you did work. Whacky isnt it Higher taxes , well that just makes resent them all the more rather than feel sorry for them. So I've become more conservative , where as in college I was very much a liberal.
-
Someone still has to pay for it though.

Shouldnt it be upto the individual church whether or not they want to perform gay marriages? Or is it under the same umbrella as a civil contract over there ?

Doubt it. In many ways 9/11 created George Bush. If that hadnt have happened then he would have likely been a plodding inefectual president. What 9/11 gave him was a focus for his "crusade" and enough popular support to be able to carry it out. Him winning this election now pretty much vindicates everything he has done I suppose.
