  1. Hmm.. now how could that be? At any rate, I think Eccleston will be nothing short of brilliant as the Doctor. He's a tremendous actor with a great range of abilities. In the promo shot, he looks just like himself, there doesn't really seem to be a costume involved. Which is likely part of the point. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is it her ? Nope still cant think of him , can you name some stuff he's been in ?
  2. You mean he eats cornflakes ? :D He looks like the guy who does this show called Xray. He's sort of familiar but I cant think of his name... Same with the woman although she reminds me of Billy Piper
  3. Thing looks strange and batman looks like hes on his way to a fetish party. Thing is all about the large brow ridges.
  4. Why does someone choose to do anything ? Fetishes might be a good place to start. Why do some people find boots incredibly attractive and yet others find them just articles of footware. Now rather than pry I'm sure everyone here has their own "secrets" so think about the why for a moment. Chances are that like most people you can trace it back to either something in your childhood or your very early teens. As someone pointed out there isnt much historical gay bias beyond about 1800 years ago. In Sparta it was the other way around in fact. Hetrosexual relations were banned until you reached a certain age. Why ? No idea. I know that I couldnt wait to get out of the all male public school as fast as possible(I was a late arrival I'd been to state school prior to that). But some people there enjoyed the "camaraderie" very much in the same way as the Spartans did. Now would those people have rather been with girls ? I really cant answer that. But I know in a couple of cases that the behaviour lasted beyond the school. Although in other cases it didnt and they settled down with a the regular wife and 2.4 children.
  5. People have been saying that since the 50's. Very little point living in fear of something that may not happen.
  6. This is no different than the world at any other period in history. It's hugely preferable to the two world wars if you ask me.
  7. As far as I know that is so far unproven. Perhaps in the cases where you remove the female members of society such as prison but not in the general populace. I fully intend to raise my kids to be very adept gamers.
  8. That ones a bit more difficult. I have a major problem with people raising their children to be gay. Same sort of problem I have with people not accepting that their children are gay. Everyone should be raised to primarily be hetrosexual. But at the same time if they do choose to be homosexual they shouldnt be punished for it. The more samesex couples raise children though the more evidence you will have for nature/nurture. Or the "gay" gene vs socialisation.
  9. Because that is how they have been conditioned to think. Which is very different from being unatural. Now if humans were the only ones practicing (odd term that) homosexual relations then it could be claimed as unatural. But they dont so you have to look for another reason of why it is wrong or not depending on your view.
  10. Actually homosexuality exists in nature so it is natural. It might be against the norms of society but that is a different thing to being unatural. Unatural are things like test tube births (but no one sees them as wrong and nor should they).
  11. Of course it will whether by evolution or total destruction. It's only the time frame in which it will happens that is in question.
  12. The slogan was "When the going gets tough the Bard goes drinking". "When the going gets tough the Bard goes leaking" dosnt have the same imagery, though it may suit the character in the current game. :">
  13. Supermans always been a kind of dull one dimensional sort of hero. Too powerful too, though they toned that down a bit eventually.
  14. People have been saying that for the last 30 years on and off. Thing is for mr and mrs average American they are living quite happily and in relative safety. More so than many other countries. Unless your a member of the disafected or you dont happen to getting your own way (which happens in democracies) then most people have more imediate concerns. And of course the biggy which is there is a huge difference between whinging and actually doing something. My own personal feeling is that people who are that disafected should bugger off to another country and see how long they last under a real dictator. A friend of mine was shot by a rubber bullet when the Irish troubles were at their hottest. But no one forced him to be where he was and as bad as it was the soldiers firing the rubber bullets (which are not intended to kill but hurt like hell) cant exactly aim in crowds of 1000's which are not exactly static. One major factor why you wont see a cival war is this. You certainly have enough people and weapons on paper. But those people hate each other with the same passion that they hate the government. Its like little tribes only without the common heritage that allows tribes to unite when something more threatening comes along and puts a stop to their "normal" infighting.
  15. Seriously you have been brainwashed by the low quality of PC software. It's like buying a car and the dealer saying "Well it's got all sorts of problems but that just means you get the extra benifit of repairing it"
  16. The next console generation is going to be interesting. Aside from Nintendo everyone is putting more effort into the online thing. Which is kind of the last bastion of PC gaming along with RTS. I switched more or less 100% to consoles and I couldnt be happier. Everything works out of the box. I dont have any driver hassles and the so called big name games on the PC havnt interested me one iota. Doom 3 et al. On top of that I can rent loads of titles I might want to play but not buy and return any that dont meet expectation withing 10 days. At the moment you can get all 3 consoles for less than a new video card upgrade for a PC. As a non gaming PC costs next to nothing that represents a big saving. Although the games on consoles should drop in price :D
  17. Difficult without knowing what sort of things you like. Presumably you mean stuff that is exclusive to the PS2 ?
  18. We *need* a thumbs up smilie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you tried Obscure and The Suffering ?
  19. Really just down to the games. Thats the only consideration. For unique Titles (read whacky) you cant beat the GC. My hands ache from Konga. If I had to choose just one It would be the PS2 because I love FF and co. Otherwise the GC. Xbox last because while the games look a bit better they are still behind the others in the type of games I like. Sudeki and Fable were both huge disapointments.
  20. If you onlyt buy 1 game per year then yes you will save money. I bought 5 this moring so that would have been the MMPORG fee paid off for a year. An MMPORG is what you make it none have ever come close to the Meridian59 servers though. It's the ultimate freeroaming open ended game like Morriwind with people
  21. depends how into them you are. If you play them a lot like some people I know then you save a ton of money because your not doing anything else with it. It's not like its a huge sum of money either it's like not buying one pizza a month. Time is really the big factor for me. Not enough of it in large enough segments to devote to an online game.
  22. As we evolve we constantly re evaluate what it means to "play god". If the only criteria to be god is to be worshipped then some pop stars have that covered right there. Creation of life ? Well we can already do that. Shaping life to our needs. Yep we can do that too. If religion claims there is only one god. Then yes having more than one is a bit of a problem for them. It's not that far fetched to see how humans could create a world (not from scratch mind you, but by modifying its atmosphere). And seed such a world with life.
  23. Like a game of Sim earth isnt it. Once evolution reaches the point you want it to. Like having a race of intelligent birds then you launch a big asteroid and start over and life takes a new path. It's not inconceivable that aliens do study humans because humans do exactly the same thing to what they consider lower lifeforms. It would be pretty funny if aliens landed and told everyone they genetically engineered them from ape DNA though
  24. Alien equivelent of cow tipping maybe.
