  1. Not really. Science is about quantifiable answers not faith. In order to find an answer you first need to find the question. Relativsm
  2. Well your welcome to jump off your roof Yes but when something new comes along science adapts with nary a miss step. The introduction of new concepts is something religion finds hard to impossible to deal with. In some cases it's like sticking your fingers in your ears in hopes that it will just go away.
  3. Does anyone not believe that 2+2=4 ? You dont need to believe in science. Science is just there. Even if you dont believe in gravity you still cant fly . You may have devices that can overcome it, but it's still a fundamental and provable truth.
  4. Your wrong. If you want to confine yourself to your own reality then fine you can accept it as fact. If however you want to impress your reality on others, that takes proof or faith. 2+2=4 because that was proven to me and I dont have an alternative for it. "God" on the other hand is this variable that people adapt to suit their own purposes with no definitive answer. The big difference here is that regardless of what science discovered about human origin I would not be at all phased by it. It wouldnt matter if we were created by aliens in the shape of mice If on the other hand someone came up with difinitive proof that we were a gentic experiment that would have devistating consequences on some people. I always liken god to a cosmic parent. It might confort some people to cling to their parent while others have outgrown them and no longer fear the dark.
  5. I was pretty much spot on with my 60 ish seats prediction. Unseating Labour was never a realistic outcome. There isnt enough to choose between the parties on a base level as New Labour has always been more small c Conservative than traditional Labour. Regardless of whats going on anywhere else, with the econemy going well for the moment there is no impetus for change. Better the devil you know and all that.
  6. I'm waiting till after I've seen the movie.
  7. Actually I think smart people try to manipulate god into something that suits them better. Consider the current catholic debate. Which goes something along the lines of lets change the rules to fit with our new society. Which makes the whole thing a bit of a sham. Following the popes death and the new pope popping up numerous people who consider themselves Catholics were telling me how great a forward looking pope would be. And how they are practicing catholics but they dont agree with the birth control thing.. When I told them they should petition for indulgences for some reason they were not amused :D. And therein lies the problem with religion. Where as scientits dont go to war when a new theory crops up.
  8. I liked it but wouldnt rave about it. Much of it was familiar and it didnt have the wow factor that would make up for already knowing the story. The end was ok if cheesey. The books end wouldnt really work in a movie.
  9. Demo of sorts I was out of the country when the game was released and caught up over the weekend.
  10. I was underwhelmed by the game. Especially when you consider just how long it's been worked on. Short absolutely - huge laugh when someone suggested that you should walk everywhere to make it last longer.. Linear - moreso than an FF game which most people consider the very definition of linear. The fact the game had a world map of sorts and so few locations on it gave you the feeling there really should be more there. Story predictable and suffering from the usual Bioware failing of trying to write a story with a twist and then putting in so many hints you would have to be seriously oblivious not to see it. The usual you are the chosen one again, only this time taken to extremes. Combat was a big let down. NPCs either suck, or they sit in the corner and boost your abilities. Only having one active NPC at a time felt like a HUGE step back again. Possibly the worst were the closed fists and open palm. What was supposed to be a phillosophy became the same old good/evil. Closed fist was especially off base being more about abject cruelty rather than not accepting the position you were born to. The NPC's were so/so. Although they felt more like an interlude than part of the game because you only had one at a time and they were effectlively useless. Chatting to the NPC's felt more like a mini game than anything organic. It's not a bad game, but it is a disapointing game. Not as disapointing as Fable, but not far off. Character creation has been reduced to it's bare minimum. Conversation skills are derived from those three stats and there are no skills to speak of outside of modifying styles. The character skins are just that, different "heads" with gender being the only difference.
  11. Not to be confused with Orwells book....
  12. Well thats nice and all, but let me tell you if that had happened KOTOR II would have found itself back on the store shelf faster than you could blink. It is an issue I've heard about with the PC version (there is a post or two in the tech forum) maybe you are getting your units confused I take good care of my Xbox, keep it in a nice ventilated spot where it dosnt overheat etc. Otherwise it's a standard unit.
  13. works every time.
  14. Oh well you win the strange award. The strangest I can do is one that cried during sex, which was very strange at the time. And one that had a serious "leakage" when exited.
  15. And I thought I had poor taste in women..
  16. Thats something I've never done. Not likely I will now I guess. Oh well maybe next incarnation
  17. Her accent is actually very good, although it's not a typical engilish accent. It's more an english finishing school accent. Which one is she Sam or Clover ?
  18. Darth is planning on Australia where statistically women are more likely to put out on the first date.
  19. Tis true, though I see how you may have read it that way.
  20. Never been bothered by that much.
  21. No just those very strong english lady type accents too many memories and they hardly ever put out... Oh I dont speak like the locals, though it's taken me years of slumming to lose the accent. :D Dont worry I dont enjoy being bathed in spit either
  22. I never recovered from seeing one of my mates girlfriends on an amatuer show. I would have paid him the
  23. I've played them all. And Bards Tale is definately my favourite single player out of all of them.
