  1. I couldnt even read half the hints in the time it took to load a new area.
  2. Maybe, but they have done a lot better than many eight year olds would have. I dont think religion should be involved in policy. But if you were honest then it's just too big a part of life and morality not to be.
  3. Ummm... Well they are by no means my personal favourites but VII is widlely praised. VIII is very different. It's much more "real" than the others, elements of Sci Fi. The best and the worst vehicle in the series.. The card and junction thing made the combat too much like work for me :D Personally, considering you can pick up a PS2 for next to nothing that is what I would do. But if you can find either VII or VIII somewhere then they will be worth a look at the price. VII I think has a gamestopper with XP in the Chocobo races but you should be able to find a patch if you search around. Grandia II while not by Squenix is also worth a look. Has a different twist on the combat system. Vol is probably FFVIII's biggest fan on these boards.
  4. I wouldnt call either of them great. But then I probably play more and varied things than most people on here do (especially this particular forum). But I agree with your conclusion even though I played KOTOR first.
  5. The corrupting influence of the darkside will age you very quickly. So the timeline isnt really a problem with regards to Kreia being "old" because it's never mentioned how much of it is down to natural aging and how much down to corruption.
  6. it's the play time that is the factor not the actual time. Most people I know let their kids spend about 2 hours a day tops on games (while spending a heck of a lot more on them themselves). Thats why to someone a 40 hour game might be considered short where as to another it would be almost a months worth. Rebublic Commando I finished in about 10 hours split over two days. Didnt think a great deal of it, but then comparing an FPS to an RPG never really works anyway.
  7. The only one you missed was it's not easy to find a 52" monitor.
  8. When I first played it, it would go bluescreen every time I met a frost giant. Patch was already out to fix it, and I dont know what the cause was. But that was essentially a gamestopper as there was no way around it.
  9. Yes it does. Much of the richness of BG comes from the NPCs. The combat isnt as good as IWD. What do you do at the end of BG ? You kill the bad bad. Without the NPCs bye bye lots of BG's roleplaying.
  10. I like her in black. Need shades to look at her normally :D
  11. Diablo also has a really interesting story. If you read it in the manual. There isnt much of it in the game (except for the cutscenes) but in an action oriented game thats probably a good thing.
  12. VII and VIII were available on the PC. But in the big picture yep console exclusive pretty much covers it. Then again so is Third Age. Yes and that made me laugh out loud as I recall. The way ATB is used in FF there isnt a massive difference except that you dont have an order queu. Calling KOTOR ATB would probably be seen as radical as most people accept it as real time with pause (even though technically none of them even going back to BG have been). Third Age was a hack job compared to FFX. Not that I disliked the game by any means. It's just that EA overused the voiced scenes rather than telling the story of the characters. Although the scene where you stand up against the witch king in the tower is one of my favourite cutscenes in any game. Without the movies to fall back on as an easy option I think we might have gotten a better story (then again perhaps not). That battle system or some variation on it, is one of the trademarks of most JRPGs.
  13. Mercs was great. Republic Commando was mediocre and didnt really have any sort of SW vibe going. Add Lego SW to that list for me :D I played Battlefronts solidly for a weekend , havnt paid it any attention since then.
  14. The way to look at MMPORGs is what you save by not doing or buying other things rather than the
  15. I enjoyed the gameplay more than the story. Without giving it all away the basic premise of the story in part I is highlander. You still have a lot of freedom to wander (something that was removed from II). Pre made as in pre-generated PC's- check. Pre made as in NPC's with ties to the world - check. Though not in the forced way of the KOTOR series.
  16. You mean you didnt see the twist coming from a mile away? I think you might find that finishing KOTOR II in 21 hours is the reason you didnt know what was going on.
  17. I own one of each and I'd put them in the following order. PS2 GC Xbox It dosnt much matter that the PC can do more than play games because a non gaming PC is that much cheaper. Rather the point is that it's become a waste spending on a gaming PC because the games are not their to make it worth while. Works for me , since that's all I want from them is hassle free gaming.
  18. For a flagship title it's almost certain. Dont forget these are the titles that are supposed to make people pay way over the odds for a console they can have at half the price six months later. Exclusivity is almost a given in this situation. A year or so later, quite possible but things will have invariably moved on by then.
  19. Interesting stuff. Inability to change is a fundamental flaw. Especially when your taking the word of god from a book that is 2000 years out of date. Science was equally wrong at times, but science was never bound by dogma that they could not be wrong. They did the best they could with what they had. As new technologies were invented other avenues of investigation became open. I was watching a program about how many people the current catholic stance on not wearing condoms kills and it's mindboggling. This inability to change leaves two paths. Ignore the whole thing and go your own way. Stick your fingers in your ears and pretend that none of the evidence like fossils exist. Litte wonder that congragations are falling over the western world.
  20. Thats why the concept of an MP SW RPG is inherently flawed.
  21. You really should be reading what people say. Still it seems namecalling is all you are good for since logic dosnt seem to be something you have a grasp of. If you want to pay way over the odds for both the units and the games.
  22. Depends on the PC, your talking rubbish again.
  23. You may have just discovered Obsidians new game. Oh I would pay money to see that
  24. Outside of their main plot duties the NPCs are not that different. I always think of them as a series anyway. Unless someone specfically types BG I or BG/II.
  25. You must have played it on a really crap computer
