  1. BG has multiple ways to complete quests. Deeper NPCs... questionable. Non combat skills, if you think that non combat skills makes it better then you can have that one
  2. You never quite know whether to feel sorry for or envious of such people. Aside from graphics I cant really think of anyplace that KOTOR beats BG. One of the best things about BG is the characters are thier own people. Go too far from their alignment and they will leave you, or attack you. They also have relationships with other characters which means if you want a certain NPC you may have to take along someone else as well (unless you do something sneaky or clever, or just murder the one you dont want out of sight). Because none of the characters are required to tell the main plot ,they are all expendable.
  3. If that were the case everyone else would wait around while you took your turn. Thats why it fits best under Active Turn Based.
  4. The thing I liked most about IWD is the lack of baggage it forces you to take on. Besides some way of getting your characters to the start of the game (something which is a part of PnP) you are free to weave whatever tale you like around them without the game coming along 10 hours later and stomping over your carefully crafted background story. Another thing that is really enjoyable, is because all the characters are your own creations you dont miss out on anything by mixing and matching whacky party types six specialist magic user apprentices being one of my most memorable and all the squabling over spells. If you create your own party in BG you do it at the cost of not having the NPCs join up.And those are a big part,if not the biggest part.BG needs the NPC's to carry the game, where as IWD can get by without them. IWD reaches it's full potential with HOW/TOTL.
  5. I'm sure you can look it up somewhere.
  6. First stage is pretty easy. Second stage I wouldnt want to tackle without the laser. Fatal Frame I've never played. I've heard about haunted but unless I get some unexpected free time probably wont be playing any time soon.
  7. Third Age is basically what Square/Squenix have been doing for 10 years. If you liked Third Age buy a PS2 right now and play the FF games. Especially FFX which is the base which Third Age was constructed from. The bad thing about Third Age was they used too many voiced over clips and didnt tell the story as well as they could have.
  8. It dosnt technically qualify as turn based because no one is going to stand around and wait for you to take your turn. Even if it does use a turn based mechanic which limits just what you can do in any given period of time. The most logical definition is ATB (like most of the FF games). Your limited by a turn structure, you have to wait for your next turn to come up before you can take a new action but the game will continue whether or not you take an action or not.
  9. The Xbox is fixed unit. You mess around with it and any problems caused are you own to deal with. It wouldnt because then you will be in same loop that the PC is in. Too many configurations to allow proper testing and too many systems of differing abilities all trying to be optimised to run the same game. And look at all the problems their DIY causes them. Good I'm really glad your seeing your fanboism for what it is finally.
  10. Not a problem I've had a seriously whacky night.. The reason we bought an Xbox in the first place is because we used to go over to friends houses and end up playing beach volleyball four player. But our PS2's only did 2 player games. Sure you can have LAN parties but I seriously wouldnt fancy lugging all the stuff around. Oh and before I forget. Welcome to the boards. Enjoy your stay etc etc.
  11. That was confusing (not your fault) the girlfriend thing threw me. Yes BG does have a lot of depth to it. But when was the last time a PC had a game like BG ? Thats why I've switched to consoles. Blame my wife for getting me into it. But I can't say I have any regrets
  12. None. I think I just used the wrong herbs in the cooking.
  13. Your folks called you Nur Ab Sal did they ? (w00t)
  14. funny it made perfect sense when I typed it...
  15. Overdoing botox will do that to you.
  16. there are already several versions of the Necronicon , including one bound in human skin. If I were you I would do things that push your sanity to the limits and then write about it. Gibberish will just make it all the more authentic. Such a book would have to be unfinished because of your untilmely death though. It all adds to the mystery.
  17. We would need an extension to hold all our gadets.
  18. Yes but owning a PC is like having a mansion that fronts on a garbage dump and requires you to be constantly fixing building defects (if you want to continue the analogy). :D So yep If you want to take pride in that be my guest.
  19. It took 50 seconds to read that?
  20. You know I may have hit on an interesting herb combination while I playing chef. "
  21. Maybe he's 40 and having a mid life crisis.
