  1. I'd say a good 90% of the games I really enjoy these days are Japanese in origin.
  2. It's a lot of work. It would be so much easier if they only had to do the english language version. I dont think FM4 got released here. May have just missed it though. You can still get FM3 for
  3. It's a bit like a Nazi going off on one at Nuremburg...
  4. upgrade or replace them. Thats another reason to love consoles. I paid around
  5. Gets easier once you get some boosting equipment.
  6. first time the sabers caught me off guard frantic spamming of force wave was required.
  7. Anyone taking 30 minutes to kill Kreia has done something seriously wrong...
  8. Dont mind Yoda , he's sort of fun. But that in itself probably isnt the intent with the character :D In the version I read a long time ago, think it was a WEG product of the SW at 20 book. Anakin and Obi end up fighting above the lava and Obi Wan wounds him and he falls. At that point Obi Wan loses sight of him, but he falls onto something and then burns up. If you take the EPIII stuff about manipulating mediclorianes then thats the technique he uses to survive. The difference there is that Obi Wan cant really do anything about it. It just seemed totally cold for Obi to stand there while Anakins doing a briquette impression. And given that even at the end he warned him not to jump and expose himself to attack it's not likely that he would actually enjoy watching him go crispy and just stand around.
  9. Whats the name of the Twilek with the nice arse in RotS ?
  10. Shocking.... BTW it's only a plot twist if it is really a twist. In KOTORII's case it's not Kreai never pretends to be anything other than what she is.
  11. Games have a deeper connection than movies because you are part of the experience rather than an observer. The end of FFX made me very sad partly because of the end and partly because it was the end..
  12. :'( Pure poetry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Something tells me George didnt write that The Obi/Anakin duel was pretty moving. The friend vs friend thing always strikes a chord, although it's been done better elswhere. House of the flying daggers was the last thing that really moved me. The futility of the love triangle.
  13. I'm sick of Star Wars. It's everywhere , you cant find a cereal box without a picture of Darth Vader on it these days. And my favourite cereal had a mini lightsaber in it... However I've seen the film twice in two different countries and overall it wasnt bad. It's the closest in feel to the OT when it comes to the look. Movie seemed rushed like it was trying to tell a 4 hour story in two hours. Hectic action sequences with badly acted and scripted interludes.Overall Clone Wars felt more on the money when it came to grevious and the Jedi. In the film Grevious was seriously nuted. Although he served his purpose as Darth Vader prototype I suppose. The big climax didnt work for me. Obi Wan turning his back on his fataly wounded former freind ,rather than doing the decent (and sensible thing) of putting him out of his misery just felt wrong. Obviously it had to be that way or you couldnt have Darth Vader, but a longer drop where Obi Wan didnt have a front row seat would have worked better. The whole seeing Vader being put together also detracts from the orginals. One of the great mysteries was what was behind the mask, Vaders character loses mystique which is going to be a shame for anyone watching 1-6 in order. The Yoda/Emporer fight in the council chambers was a nice alagory on the fall of democracy. Although Yoda really didnt seem to be putting as much effort into it and his whole speil about size matters not, must have been something Qui Gon clued him in on later because he had a hard time throwing those frisbies around. Overall it wasnt a bad film the CGI stole the show though. Still nowhere near as good as ESB but better than any of the other prequels.
  14. Out of the three which do you consider the most attractive prospect? Personally we are PS3 all the way, in no small part to the huge catalogue of games we already own from the previous two systems and in part to our Japanese connection. The Xbox dosnt really do much for me as even if it is backwards compatible you can count the Xbox games we own on one hand. Although as a western console I think the Xbox will have the edge in the NA market while everything else gets translated. Nintendo have always had a handful of very solid titles so even though it's not really a must have, at some point I will have to get one for those games. Nintendo are also the most innovative of the three so perhaps something new will come along. Aesthetically PS3 wins although it looks similiar to the Xbox 360 it's sleeker.Still trying to get used to the glowyness of the revolution.
  15. I'd rather the Xbox version. The controls are all to hand and you never had to fuss around with downloading new drivers and the like. Played the PC version at a friends and it took 30 minutes of "tweaking" to get it to run. As opposed to my 30 seconds for the Xbox. The bottom line is the PC version dosnt have enough advantages over the Xbox version to make it more desirable. Even if people cobble together all sorts of new content by the time that appears I will have already moved on. Takes a very special game these days to stay in my spotlight more than a week or two.
  16. Tales of Symphonia Baten Kaitos Resi 4 Zelda Then get a gameboy player :D
  17. FFX is the RPG of this console generation at least for another 18 months :D What to recomend really depends on which bit of RPGs you find most interesting. Playing with stats and an open system or an enticing story with characters with some depth. Baten Kaitos (GC) for an expample had a great story but the gameplay is something of an aquired taste. Anything Squenix do usually comes out way ahead of the field so they are always a pretty safe bet for RPG goodness.
  18. That depends if your world view is a view of the world as it is, or as you see it. You can ignore the "reality" of science but science will win over your reality if you put it to the test. Like the aforementioned jumping off your roof. People who are skeptical about the laws of physics and the like are likely to lead short and very messy lives.
  19. Mace Griffon is still my favourite. Some of the timers can be on the frustrating side but it's got some variety to the gameplay. The combat shotgun is brilliant too , load with 1 to 4 shells and fire them all off at once. Had fun with HaloII liked the way that the vehicles were intergrated in so well. Jumping off a ghost bike onto a tank and dropping a grenade in the hatch in a relatively seamless motion added a lot of "reality".
  20. That ones so easy to spot. No one actually reacts to Bruce except for the kid who sees dead people. It's a major give away. Bioware are masters of obvious storytelling. They start off telling an ok story then they ruin it by sticking in so many obvious clues that it gives the game away. Jade Empire is exactly the same. The story twist is given away long before it happens. I'd worked it out before chapter I was over although it was a case of a badly done cinematic which didnt fit with what you were told.
  21. I find the idea of wrestling a disciple in a bikini very distirbing... but whatever floats your boat.
  22. No it wasnt what I expected. But I was more than satisfied with what was there.
  23. What happens when someone tells you a cat is a dog..
  24. Fun but I'd rather play with a force feedback joystick than a mouse.
