  1. As I said previously GL is just not good at getting performances out of actors. Only those who are pretty much above it all and do there own thing anyway tend to turn in good performances. I mean Christopher Lee is much the same as Saruman in EPII but he brings both a dignity and a huge presence to both roles.
  2. I agree. The reason everyone is looking on RotS more favourable than the first two is twofold. First off EP I and II set the bar so low that almost anything would be an improvement (sorry Liam you were great). Second EP III feels much closer to the OT than the previous two. Just add he's not a screenplay writer either. Absolutely. You only have to look at how much Vader is plastered over cereal boxes despite being in the film for less than minute. Nothing else has the gravitas of Lord Vader in his shiny black armour it seems.
  3. I think being annoying runs in the family Was kind of beneath him Wonder how he would feel about it today.
  4. Another person who cant see beyond the CGI and flashy effects. Take those away and you get something that wouldnt look out of place in daytime soap. Especially anything between Anakin and Padme. Sorry cant take anyone seriously who says the love scenes between Han and Leia were painful. Not when you compare them to those in EPII and III. I can get you his autograph if you like, but your still talking nonsense.
  5. What the heck happened to Dooku between EPII and III or even clone wars and EPIII? He went from a master saber duelist to a slow old man.
  6. Not by me , unless you said EPV
  7. Dosnt even come close to EPV. But then EP V wasnt written (screenplay) or directed by George which really says it all. His performace was good but only in the context of the movie. Not like he had a lot of competition on that score. George dosnt seem that good at drawing the best from his actors. Reminds me of what Harrison Ford said. "You can write this **** but you can't say it".
  8. Better than the previous two wouldnt be a great accomplishment to be honest. I think EP II set a new low when it came to dialogue.
  9. Your joking. If you ignore the flashy CGI the direction and writing borders on abysmal. The only reason it gets an easy ride is because it's a Star Wars film and we look favourably on it no matter what.
  10. No actually they dont. Because DS has full AI everyone will run around and fight whether or not you do anything, though to say they play themselves is an exageration in all but the easiest of areas. Try that with an FF game running ATB and you will find yourself dead. Also how much do you want to bet that Fable on the PC will require patching It is , crappier games as in games that dont work out of the box and require patches to get running. Thats one of the reasons I more or less gave up playing PC games because they were buggy pieces of trash most of the time. While I've had the odd bad disk, ironically one of them was Fable, replacing the disk is all thats required.
  11. Took the kids over to meet their grandparents for the first time
  12. That dosnt make sense for the following reasons. 1. A movie is much shorter than a game and 3 hours isnt time for an average movie to have a complex plot. 2. You dont have the ability to cross reference in a movie. You cant rewind and play the dialogue over in order to get the whole picture. Therefore everything needs to be more straightforward. A movie type plot in a 50 hour game however lacks the depth that having the extra time and involvement requires. K2's plot needs that time where as K1's dosnt since its about as deep as puddle and as difficult to see the bottom of As for people being annoyed because they cant ditch Kreia, well too bad you cant ditch any of the KOTOR I characters either because the story is told through them in the same way. Since you could see Bastila's fall coming a mile off (plus it was pretty much a carbon copy of NwN) why did you never get the option to leave her with the Jedi. Or lock her in the cargo hold. That is an accusation you would have to level at both games.
  13. http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/advanc...ics&dontmatch=y While not a great game by any means ( not a good way to sell this is it..) It has two things going for it. It's only
  14. I played that ages ago. I had an Engineer with one of those stalker robots and a mystic with two of those floaty pets which I called posh and becks.. I only played it for about 6 months but it was a lot of fun. I especially liked the fact that you could just program your own dungeon to avoid the crowds. Highlight of my AA time was finding a flying car which retailed at several 100,000 in a chest in a dungeon, buggered if I know how it got there but after that I never died once
  15. George gets very peeved when others do a better job than him(and people say so). I think one of the reasons that EPV is head and shoulders above the other SW movies when it comes to the bits that link the action scenes together is because other people were responsible for the details even though the story was his. Perhaps as he gets older this will become less of an issue but even EPIII although it had some great action sequences still had the trademark ropey writing and direction and if we are honest if it wasnt a Star Wars film and didnt tap into that nostlagia vien we would likely laugh at it deriseively.
  16. What does that have to do with anything ? Kriea is a Jedi and Jedi can do that sort of thing. Obviously your missing the whole subtle thing since it relates to the fact that people dont just give you new dialogue when you level, but rather new dialogue opens depending on you actions. Yes and KOTOR I still had a bland boring story which shared rather too much with NwN. Whatever beef you have with the game, your complaints have zip to do with subtlety.
  17. Thanks. Since it's 5.30 and a care alarm just woke me up seeing your stuff just put me in a much better mood
  18. I think that perhaps they waiting for the level up spoonfeeding of KOTOR. Missed the journal entry that reminded you to talk to people after you had gained some levels. KOTOR II is far less obvious than KOTOR which is the thing I like most about it.
  19. Thats very Sith of you actually you have a point because rather than solve problems or stand upto to their dictators people flee the country and seek asylum. Of course your method would result in 100,000's if not millions of deaths since the dictators are the ones with the tanks and in Sadams case the chemical weapons.
  20. KOTOR II impressed me more than either Jade Empire or KOTOR even in it's less than perfect completeness. The logic behind it is simple KOTOR and JE complete were Biowares best efforts I was not impressed, call me jaded (pun ) or just that I have outgrown Biowares simple stories. On the other hand given time to pull things together Obsidian would only improve on KOTOR II.
  21. What are you on about ? That isnt a set event let alone a plot twist.
  22. Not when you visit Kashyyyk first then spend the next 10 hours of the game waiting for the the rest of the universe to catch up. Bioware did exactly the same thing in Jade Empire. Its either that subtle storytelling is beyond them. They are intentially writing for stupid people who dont pay attention to what is going on, or they are so proud of their plot twists that the feel the need to illumiate them with "neon signs". The fact that KOTOR II dosnt rely on any sort of twist is one of the things that makes the story more interesting. Plot twists are one off devices which even if they work well, and done well they can certainly enhance a story "Luke I am your Father" but you will never get that same shock value subsequently.
  23. I'm never quite sure whether to feel envious or sorry for the people who were actually suprised by that rather feeble plottwist.
  24. Touch has a better placement in the movie.
  25. god created an empty space ? Lack of imagination if you ask me.
