  1. Oh, cool. Badges are finally here. After more than a year, I had sort of thought those might not happen.
  2. I'm shamelessly scraping this thread off page 97 for those who haven't seen it yet. I continue to keep this up to date. There's a ton of information about the game for those who are looking to get up to speed.
  3. I happen to love the way Forton looks. I look at him and feel like he's someone who has suffered a lot in his life. His eyes really seem to tell a story. I wouldn't want Obsidian to change Forton a bit. There's nothing wrong with an older, balding companion for a change of pace. He's already got a place in my first party (assuming he'll be a companion -- I wish Obsidian would confirm which of their revealed "characters" are actually "companions".
  4. Compared to the concept art, this picture is a lot more "b**tch you don't wanna mess with"! Honestly, I prefer Cadegund looking a bit more feminine, but I guess we all interpret this stuff differently. Regardless, Staples' rendition is a sight to behold.
  5. Nicely done sir!
  6. That actually could be a lead in to a great sequel. YEAH! Let me empty my savings account right now to help fund this sucker!
  7. I don't think that would make much sense, personally. There are probably more realistic ways to implement this, such as a deadly plague eventually killing everyone off. Oh, right, your idea is clearly... superior. I bow to your more focused sense of morbidity.
  8. This is a staple of the mcmanusaur. Let's all be happy that he's not the ruler of a nation. "You can vote for me, or me, or me! So many options I give to my people!"
  9. Totally mcmanusaur. You're right on the pulse of things, as usual. How about just as you're about to fight the main antagonist a herd of rampaging buffalo happens by and kills your party. There's no way to avoid it. It's just fate. Nature wins the game.
  10. Agreed. If the expansion, a DLC, or the sequel ended up having a multiplayer mode splashed in, I wouldn't mind at all. I might even take advantage and do some LAN gaming with my son (I've got 2 copies of the game coming to me). I certainly wouldn't want to see other key features suffer to get it in, however. An MMO would be a whole different story, and different kind of game. Not only would this not lend to the type of deep, story-based RPG so many of us want Project Eternity to be, but for me, I have sworn off MMOs. After a 2 year stint with Everquest many years ago, I don't play any games that don't have a pause function. Let's just keep it it simple with PE. Make it a game that plays like BG, PST, and IWD, but looks a lot better, and is set in a cool new world. That seems like perfection right there. No need to screw with perfection.
  11. My understanding is the PE won't be a "save the world from a super devil" type story. It's a more personal story. So I don't think we need to worry about this.
  12. Please God, NO!!!!!! Oops, wrong thread! I'd be okay with this if Obsidian really thought it was worth their time, but it's doubtful I'd use it personally. I'd hate to see Obsidian spend time developing a feature that is rarely used by players. Edit: We know that Obsidian isn't going to include this in the version of the game that is scheduled to launch in April 2014, so it's a tad pointless to ask for it.
  13. We also need hunchbacks who are portrayed as ordinary hardworking citizens, rather than monsters. I don't think I've seen them getting any love yet.
  14. I'm hoping that he plays it with the same level of soberness (or lack thereof) and enthusiasm he had during the final Kickstarter countdown video. I just killed an enemy! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! ARCANUM!!!!!
  15. The goal of PE could be to create a huge housing bubble with medieval style option ARM loans, stated docs passing for evidence of income, and a huge sub prime lending scam that allows anyone with a pulse to obtain property. PE2 could be an MMO where the Dyrwood is in a deep recession due to the goings on in the original game. You spend the game trying to secure a job and improve your medieval style credit rating so you can get a new place to live Will you stay on the straight and narrow, or will you participate in the growing svef trafficking market, earning your income via less than noble means? The choice is yours!
  16. I got a kick out of the unlikely band of adventurerers in NWN2 who you met your Crossroads Keep. They seemed to be bumbling their way through life, but actually ended up being rather helpful, and were quite entertaining in the process. Something like that could be fun in PE.
  17. So what you're saying is that you do eagerly anticipate a money-grabbing sequel, possibly in the form of an MMO? Right.... I'll gladly throw money at a sequel, assuming that its MMO form stands for Minutely Multiplayer and Offline Roleplaying Game (sure, they can throw in some Baldur's Gate level multiplayer if they really, really, really want).
  18. Pretty certain it hasn't started. Obsidian will be announcing it, and most likely letting the fans watch (at least some of it).
  19. I'm sure he'll do much better in the Project Eternity 2 forum. For now he needs to eat his troll food, so he can grow big and strong, and more troll-like.
  20. And should the party get stuck in the depths of Od Nua with no food, the larger folk should be able to survive the longest off their fat stores (surely roleplaying a slow death by starvation will be included in the game). On the other hand, the rest of the party may feel compelled to resort to cannibalism and turn Billy Big-Boy into a tasty snack. Hmm, I wonder if PE will include cannibalism, for those extreme circumstances where it makes sense.
  21. Fair enough. As you point out, there's plenty of non-PE stuff there too, which obviously you won't be able to find in my guide.
