SAVED GAME: link OUTPUT LOG: link REPRO STEPS: Load the attached saved game. Select "FighterDudette", the dudette in Vailian clothes, and access her character record. Scroll down to her talent list and observe she has the Spirit of Decay talent, which gives +20% Corrode damage. Go to her Inventory and observe she is wielding Bittercut, a sabre that deals Slash/Corrode damage. Further observe the minimum damage listed is 17, which does not take Spirit of Decay into account (rightfully.) Back to the game, have FighterDudette attack the Amaua protagonist who is wearing a brigandine (brigandine is weak against Corrode, so every swing will deal Corrode damage.)* Keep an eye on the combat log. The minimum damage you should observe before DR applies is 17 * 1.2 = 20.4 (you'll have to hover your mouse over every hit to get the pre-DR damage; ignore grazes and crits for convenience.) Observe that you'll easily get hits below 20.4 damage, suggesting that Spirit of Decay is not boosting the Corrode damage from Bittercut. * I equipped Coat of Ill Payment because it was readily available but there's likely another brigandine or two in the Stash which would make the combat log less crammed (Coat of Ill Payment has retaliation.) The same steps as above may be followed to test Stormcaller and Heart of the Storm. The character with Stormcaller is CipherDudette, black woman with Aedyran clothes. She has Heart of the Storm and the minimum pre-DR damage should be 13 * 1.2 = 15.6 This one has been trickier; the minimum I got was 15.4 and only happened once (but I guess it's the same bug as Bittercut's and fixing it for one weapon fixes it globally.) This time around I had no mods installed :D EDIT: Additional stuff. Enchant Bittercut with Corrosive Lash, which gives +25% Corrode damage. Use FighterDudette to attack the Aumaua protagonist. Observe in the combat log that even though Bittercut is dealing Corrode damage as a base, the lash goes separately against 25% of the target's DR. This is how lashes normally work, but in the case of a weapon already dealing Corrode damage, shouldn't the lash simply add up to the base damage? This is one of those "bug or intended" questions that should probably go to a designer ...aaand if you really have some extra time (which I doubt you do): Try creating a Fire Godlike and equipping them with Bittercut. When I do it, the sword takes on a reddish tint that looks rather ugly.

Well, Irenicus wanted something that you happened to have. It could have been anyone else, but it happened to be you. He gets it from you and has no intention or desire to meet you, challenge you, or fight you in any way beyond that. He got what he wanted and you're just another nobody on the far end of his radar. That's something SoA did exceedingly well. It was personal for you, but not for your antagonist. PoE does something similar, but doesn't come off quite as powerful.

I tried to build the Twinned Arrows iTell ranger; it was good but against high-DR targets its DPS plummets Very interested in the Priest build. I usually play pure-support Priests so it might be good to change for a play through. You sure are a build-creating machine :D With all that firepower, more than 6 slots aren't really called for. Thaos (in a Cartman voice): "Screw you guys. I'm going home."

The lash might be intended to make Bittercut on par with other weapons when it comes to enchanting it. It's already a better sabre than most because of its Slash/Corrode damage; if the lash increased its damage to 125%, it would give it perhaps too much of an edge as it wouldn't have to go against DR twice. Slash/Corrode also works as you described: It applies the damage against which your enemy is the least resistant, regardless of whether you have a higher damage output in Slash or Corrode. That was never factored in; only the enemy's DR is (appreciate that it would be cool if the algorithm was advanced enough to calculate which damage type would net you the highest DPS.) BUT ... if Spirit of Decay is not applying to its Corrode base damage, we need to write up a bug report. I can do that if you want; let me know

Imho RTWP is the best of two worlds. TB is often too slow and gets me bored before combat is over; RT requires high APM which is only attainable if you put in several hours or practice (which is not the same as playing/enjoying.) RTWP plays fast while eliminating the need for high APM, so it's a win-win in my book.

PoE sells 500K units
AndreaColombo replied to Eisenheinrich's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
If you check GoG's list of RPGs and sort by best selling, there are 12 games ahead of The Witcher 3. Not sure where I got the 1mm copies sold information about D:OS. I wrote by memory but I too cannot find any sources. It passed the 500,000 mark in September 2014 according to Wikipedia so it's not unlikely that it made it to 1,000,000 one year thereafter but at this point it is just speculation. -
Not sure whether next patch is 3.00 or 2.04, but Josh's been teasing some of the changes on Twitter. https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/666663042713653248 https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/666663156266065920 https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/666667016615428097 EDIT: https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/666682184950874112

Fulmineo Prondroni, eh? Very interested in the Cipher build. I usually play ranged Ciphers (and usually have more focus than I can spend as my Cipher micro is about as abysmal as my SCII APM) but that might as well change. ...aand now I'm toying with the idea of a dual-wielding Fighter with Bittercut because Spirit of Decay. Or maybe I'll do a Rogue. Decisions, decisions...

Barbarian Companion?
AndreaColombo replied to Heijoushin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
^ Not necessarily I loved the Vithrack art and I'm a lot more interested in the new challenges we'll face than in a new companion. They did say, however, that their next update will be about the new companion. I guess there might be a video like they did for Zahua and DoC. -
PoE sells 500K units
AndreaColombo replied to Eisenheinrich's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
If you check the list of RPGs on GoG and sort them by best selling, PoE Hero Edition is at the bottom of the first page. There was a time, before D:OS EE was out (the EE reset the sales on GoG so it basically had to start again from the bottom of the list), in which PoE Hero was ahead of D:OS on the list (both were at the top of the second page.) At the time, D:OS had reportedly sold over 1,000,000 and its Steam Spy figure was just slightly over 850,000, suggesting sales in excess of 100,000 on GoG. PoE was ahead of that. Besides I doubt any RPG can make it to page 1 of GoG's best sellers without selling in excess of 100,000 copies. -
PoE sells 500K units
AndreaColombo replied to Eisenheinrich's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It has sold pretty well on GoG; I suppose the Steam Spy figures are inflated if the game is just slightly over 600,000 units, as I expect GoG copies to be over 100,000.
