I am a Total Annihilation fanboy, so this is obviously exciting news to me, but ignoring that, this could really help bring a new face to 'RTSs' which have stagnated probably worse than any other genere (that are actually selling). All this time, a good 10 years, and TA is STILL my favorate RTS, with the only other game matching it being Dawn of War. This isn't fanboyism, it's simply that no other RTS since has done as many things right.

Agreed with Llyranor, arguing over 'if it's RTS or not' is completely and utterlly irrevlient, esspesally if you've all played the bloody game. Talk about it's features and flaws, not what pointless pigeon hole it falls into. Total War games have always been enjoyed for me for their 'realisitc' combat mixed with risk style terretory maps. A good mix of tactics and strategy, but not to everyones tastes.

Main problem with maya can be lack of user friendlyness, compared to many other 3D modeling programs it can be quite anal. Not to say it isn't powerful.
