  1. Looks like Night Dive Studios know where those No One Lives Forever rights went... Keep this up, and I'll call them the Adventurers of the Legal Limbo
  2. Want more Road Rash? Fund "Road Redemption"! Edit: Oh wow, just one extra bit of info revealed that this Kickstarter could raise up controversy. The creator of the original Road Rash games *is* planning a Kickstarter, but this isn't it. In fact, the proper Road Rash kickstarter should come up within a month. I wonder how this'll turn out. Geisler's game looks far superior, comparing the alpha/prototype/whatever footages of both projects
  3. I hope they do something to clear up this situation. Sure, nowhere did they promise that the content past Berlin would be included (or whether that content would be DRM-free) but they did themselves a major disservice by not making their post-launch intentions clear sooner. Nevertheless, I might get the game at some point of it scores above 6/10. My wee bit of Metacritic research indicates that's my limit as far as genuine enjoyment goes It's funny, I tried to re-install Super Street Fighter 4 on my computer recently, and the first thing to appear after I launched the game was an error specifically caused by this absolute disservice I had to reinstall both "that thing" and SSF4 for my game to finally work
  4. Infinity Engine, we need to talk... I've found a new love and her name is Unity. I'm sorry. Me and you, we had fun but, I think it's time for both of us to move on.
  5. Torchlight 2, playing with my Berserker lady on Veteran difficulty I've died 25 times with that character so far (haven't even finished a single playthrough), yet I still feel strangely powerful. Must be because she shreds HP bars so fast and has various sources of life leech. Her weaknesses and strengths lie are completely different from my mages, there's one end-game creep that usually nukes me from distance when I play a mage, but it apparently doesn't fight nearly as well at close distance
  6. After checking the availability of the original Age of Empires 2 release online (the result being that nobody sells it as a downloadable title, I checked all the bigger online stores), I can't really judge this HD version too negatively as it's definitely better than nothing They did WHAT!? BLASPHEMY!
  7. Yeah, Garrett did do that a few times in The Dark Project as far as I remember. He mostly did that to notify when you've completed a sub-objective
  8. I can do nothing else but refer you to the reply given in the case of Arkell v. Pressdram
  9. Chris Hecker's (developer of SpyParty) wordless rant about the game industry
  10. April Fools patch for Guild Wars 2 added this huge retro 3D platformer mini-game!
  11. I'd personally prefer having battle cattle
  12. Quite frankly, I didn't know sports games (a.k.a. those games that couldn't change too much even if they tried), horrible job simulators and the one exception known as CoD defined industry standards.
  13. Assassin's Creed will be annual until players say stop Ubisoft, you guys... god damnit.
  14. Awakening? What did that expansion do to the community to change it?
  15. Among The Sleep, a first-person horror game where you play as a 2-year-old gets a gameplay teaser
  16. Spec Ops writer says that violent games are creatively too easy This is pretty much what Chris Franklin a.k.a. Campster said in his Errant Signal video on the subject
  17. Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy Wow, mission #29 of Hero 30 mode actually made me sad. I was not expecting that!!! T_T
  18. Looks like Bioshock Infinite is going to be one of the smash hits of the year! Less than 10% of the 40+ reviews give it less than 9 ... I guess I'll wait for it to hit the bargain bin. I'm a massive cheap*** when it comes to shooters
  19. Can you elaborate why one shouldn't start with The Legend, since it was released first? The KB convo in the other thread got me to check out what the series is about since since all I knew was that it looked a lot like HoMM 5. Internet: "It's essentially that but with no base building and more of an RPG than TBS" Me: "Aaaaah..." So I downloaded the Armored Princess demo and while I was apparently put into some mid-game location with no tutorial, I liked what I saw
  20. Playing a few levels of Frozen Synapse, and came to a strange conclusion I... really like the escort missions in this game. Especially the ones where I can't control the escortee at all. Probably because the NPC kind of works as a lure for enemies, so I can determine their tactics semi-reliably
  21. Slowly getting into Storm of Zehir. The dialog and voice-acting is so bad that... BUT the mechanical improvements and some of the gameplay ideas seem really interesting. Full party creation, getting to see the "end" of your game at any point, full-party dialog, the overworld map with avoidable random encounters, etc. I'm gonna give it a proper shot, but I do not feel one bit guilty for letting a sigh of relief after reading that the lead writer Annie VanderMeer is not doing any writing anymore, at least for Obsidian
  22. Just beat Mask of the Betrayer. I'm a bit disappointed that leading the crusade to the very end is not covered in the game, and that making deals with some evil forces while generally being a good-ish type resulted in a rather "sub-optimal" ending as far as some details go, but otherwise I've thoroughly enjoyed the expansion.
  23. Well, at least the gameplay can't get any worse than Blood Omen 2 (though admittedly story is 100x more important), so we can let out a small sigh of relief. I guess the only way they can screw that up is to make it a shoot-HJGFKFDKTEDTYEYT¤&NMBVNYK][[¤%H NOOO! The mere thought of that bloody hurts
