  1. Got past the long solo part in the beginning of Act 3 in Neverwinter Nights 2, and now the game is showing its downright bipolar quality more apparently than ever. Put me against 2 vampire champions while soloing, seriously? Not only that, but starting me with a crappy sword when the undead ambush comes (instead of my awesome +4 bastard sword BLOODLETTER), and not putting any auto-saves after the long string of discussions you have before it? Then you make up for it with a rather interesting tomb, make the next major quest non-linear, and give me more fantastic line delivery from Sand, the snarkiest elf in Neverwinter? With the way this game pushes me away and then pulls me back, I feel like a yo-yo
  2. Speaking of pledges, I do hope the Project Eternity fulfillment site goes up soon.
  3. Neverwinter Nights 2 Finally got Construct working. Pretty nice stats, but I'll probably leave him in the keep after one quest, since my character is not focusing on crafting skills, and thus can't upgrade him properly (why oh why can't I use my other party members' crafting skills for the skill check??? I suppose it for the purpose of balance with combat vs non-combat classes, but it annoys me)
  4. Yeah, especially with flies, who *should* have a near 360 field of view
  5. Okay, so, now that the first bit of gameplay footage has been released and my interest in this has grown, I've got a question for any "Wasteland experts" in here: What is there in the core of Wasteland franchise that differentiates it from Fallout, the old Black Isle style Fallouts to be exact? Of course there's a somewhat different setting and you control a party instead of one character, but what else? (yes yes, spiritual sequels and whatnot, but there must be something noticeably different) Is there anything in the first Wasteland that would make "Okay, so this WL2 is like a newer classic Fallout game" the wrong mindset to have while playing this game?
  6. Fade to black right before a bossfight? inXile, you big tease
  7. Full GameInformer interview 3 completely different epilogues, you say?
  8. Further into Neverwinter Nights 2 The court scene that takes into account even the smallest things you did in Act 1, Sand's fantastic dialog, the various moments when your companions try to help you depending on your influence with them, the dozens upon dozens of skill-based dialog options... To me, NWN2 started as one of the blandest fantasy RPGs I've played, but now I think it's positively great (I'm the kind of guy who tends to prefer high peaks over solid performance)
  9. An unnamed Merchant in Blacklake District. I think it was my 5th try or something, the previous pickpocketing attempts from the same guy either gave me ~30 gold or a necklace of sorts I tend to steal from every named NPC and (un)named merchant I see. Even Deekin. Especially Deekin. Once in a while I grab a magical item worth thousands
  10. I..... I..... I just pickpocketed 750 gold rings... in one swoop. That is both ridiculously awesome yet stupidly broken
  11. C'mon CDProjekt, give us screenies that use your REDengine 3.0 already!
  12. Neverwinter Nights 2, beginning of Act 2 Oh my god, Sand joined my party! C'mere you adorable smug bastard!
  13. Then there's always DayZ. There are probably less people who left ArmA 2 unmodded than those who've played DayZ
  14. I wonder if the barbers in Witcher 3 can change your beard as well as your hair. Snidely Whiplash, anyone?
  15. Video coverage, after 1:20 mark Edit: random picture
  16. I'm a little annoyed that this is going to end on game #3. With all the hanging plot threads and unvisited locations, this seems like they're really back-loading most of the story into this single game. 2014 release? Make in 2016 and I'd be less worried. Still hyped as **** though
  17. Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
  18. Well damnit, 8 levels into Neverwinter Nights 2 and only *now* do I realize that my Rogue 6 / Fighter 2 character is not suited for Duelist prestige class. At first I thought I could just carry on what I'm doing and make my character a master of parrying when he's not stabbing backs (sort of a bosskiller character). There are a few things wrong with my playstyle 1) My Halfling attacks with a Bastard Sword. The offensive side of Duelist abilities demand that I use a Rapier or something similar, which would mean I got the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat for nothing 2) To get the most out of the defensive abilities, I'd need to both a) not wear any armor at all, and b) have huge Dex and Int stat. I tend to wear medium armor, and I have quite a few points in Str and Con. At this point, I might as well build up to Rogue 6 / Fighter 4 / Wizard 5 / Arcane Trickster 5. I won't be that powerful as a spellcaster, but at least I'll be able to play as a hybrid that has few levels in a new prestige class ("New" as in, not in previous D&D video games)
  19. Damn, Neverwinter Nights 2 cheats like a mother****er with the monster spawns! "Hmm, my Druid can't track any monsters in this tomb except that one in the middle. Coast is clear for now I presume" *Have 6 Ghast spawn right on top of you* *The Ghasts' gas clouds immobilize entire team by reducing their Str, Dex and Con by several points, then proceed to stun my only characters who can handle melee properly* Oi, screw you game!
  20. Well, the class trailers for one, which look far more like a clunky GW2 clone(in sense of combat mechanics) than D&D (then again, the latest edition I've experienced is 3.5) And the hilariously overpriced Founder's Packs ($200)
  21. Your way of thinking is outdated What the next Mass Effect really needs is "Deluxe dialog options DLC"!
  22. In fact, so thorough that they squeeze profits from the space that contains the dead corpse
  23. Well, you see, yadda yadda optional yadda yadda not for you yadda casual players yadda yadda companies try to earn money, yadda yadda yadda 1000 times recycled argument yadda
  24. I think getting new spells at level 10+ that only deal half the damage of your level 1 spells, and using more than your max MP to lower single enemy's damage by 2 is pretty good indicator that magic is simply broken. And people talk s*** about Alpha Protocol's balance, yeesh. The only spells you could ever trust to have some kind of balanced progression were summoning spells
  25. Wait, so the MP mode of Dungeon Siege 1 had an entirely different campaign from the single-player? Nonetheless, I still would have disliked it greatly even if I played that mode, and with a group of friends. The spell system was just broken, map was useless, difficulty was all over the place and the monsters were never really fun to fight (granted, some of the monster concepts were interesting, but that was almost always paired with almost party-destroying special abilities)
