Looking into this, the statement on question comes from defending a school for firing a professor for wearing a hijab and saying "muslims and christians worship the same god". The professor is a christian as well, in case any one was wondering. Now I would wager this wouldn't be an issue with the school or the guy we're talking about if you replaced hijab with the funny jew hat and muslims with jews, but maybe I'm just assuming zionism is standard for christian republicans for lack of a better term. With all that bull**** out of the way, I'm gonna agree (I think) with gromnir and barti on this. Sure this guy doesn't believe in stuff like polygamy or virgin sacrifice and he's got a fairly minor role, but it would seem he holds beliefs that would cause him to favor christians over others and that could be an issue. Bernie certainly didn't come over well, but Vought was awful at explaining his position and there is some doubt about his neutrality.

Ciphers have a lot of great AoE debuffs which signifigantly reduce defenses. I'd generally go for those over direct damage powers at low levels(mental binding is one I can think of off hand), then pick up the fantastic damage powers like disintegrate, silent scream, detonate, or amplified wave at higher levels. I'm not an expert on tanks, but I believe Fighters are an inferior choice to Monks or Barbarians. I'm sure Boreror will come by and give you far better advice than I ever could.

I'll assume we're getting at least one Kraken because of a certain encounter in WM2. And it's a good bet we'll encounter the monsters in that ingame book, maybe with the exception of Leviathan. So those are pretty good, even though it's a bummer we won't be getting the one-eyed kraken and maybe no maiden of the depths or helwater crabs. IMO those should come in an expansion, along with a dwarf companion.

No, if anything the Cipher is the least because it originated in an area the PC has never been and hasn't spread as much as say Wizards or Druids have. IIRC correctly it gets the most dialogue options and is the most unique to the PoE setting, but it ain't the obvious story choice. Damn good class though.
