What are you Playing Now? - Right Now at the moment edition

Did the Fidelio quest in Rogue Trader. This time I chose not to pretend to be Fidelio, instead investigating who really is. Interesting how different the quest plays out. Got almost the same outcome though, with just a few more people alive, as some who tried to kill me last time were smarter this time. -
Booking dot com is pressuring hotels to raise commission to 25% In 2015 it was 10% with the option to do 15% for increased visibility. Then 15% became the standard and you had to give 20% to enter the genius program of select hotels pushed to good customers. Then they changed the genius program, while keeping the name, removing all benefits for the hotels, but hey, if you reduce the commission, we'll drop you to page 20. But customers are happy paying a quarter of their travel costs to parasitic sites. Why would gaming be different?

Started again with Rogue Trader. Tried to see if there is an optimal way of doing the first chapter. In Dragon Age Origins, the optimal play was to not finish areas, but to hop back and forth to unlock always just enough to get a better outcome somewhere else. (Mainly to help the possessed child) Rogue Trader it turns out locks in where you have gone first on arrival. Land, take off, go somewhere else and do that first will still act as if you spent time in the first option. At the same time, minor flavour items will react to the actual order you did things, referencing that npcs are dead even though in the grand scheme the game state of the location thinks you haven't been to where you'd kill those NPCs. -

Finished the Lost Valley in Solasta. Did not expect the plot twist. Sided with the people and failed the actual job your party is originally hired to do. Had fun. -

Finished Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Purgatory It has a "Bash the Fash" achievement, so it gets a 100% rating from me just for being openly and unapologetic antifa. Which works well for the Werewolf setting, as that has always in a way been the left-leaning part of the World Of Darkness with its theme of eco terrorism and thus anti corporate greed. As a sequel, it loosely ties into the story from Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Heart Of The Forest. The main character and some npcs from that game appear in this as well, and part of the game takes place in the same forest. You do not need to have played the previous game though, as this is an independent story from that. The story features two divergent branches as your character chooses what matter to investigate. I have only played one branch, but I expect both do lead to the same finale. What sets this WOD visual novel apart from Coteries/Shadows of New York - its otherwise closest kin - is that, while you play a set person, you choose your skills, tribe, and auspice (class). These don't affect the story in a major way, but allow for an s experience slightly more tailored to the player's preference. -
There is a drastic decrease in my conformity throughout chapter 1 of Purgatory

I played Jack Move. It is a cute little cyberpunk pixel art indy rpg. It is very short, probably under 8 hours. At the same time, I found the combat to be overstaying its welcome. I uninstalled during the final boss fight. It is too tedious and boring for me. I know I could beat it if I invested the time, but there is nothing rewarding about slowly nibbling at the silly health of the boss, defend before the big attack, heal, repeat. I can watch the ending on YouTube. -
Ooooh, a Dragon Age II remake!

Hmm FM could be the name for a cool series of Radio Host Simulators. Don't listen to the Deb of Night, be the Deb of Night. Create playlists to attract certain audiences and establish yourself in the city's subcultures. Try to appeal to the masses and mainstream success. Wrangle callers live on air. Play for the sleepless, play for the morning crowd. And uncover a dark conspiracy in your city. Or don't and just settle for cash and local fame. -

Shadowrun Returns was a disaster of mismanaged funds and lack of experience in basically every area other than the setting. It was a fun little Shadowrun game though and the story was good. It would have been better as an old school novel. In print. On paper. Dragonfall was the good game they had promised in the Returns Kickstarter. I wouldn't mind a AAA open world Shadowrun... Just directly the director's cut and three years of post release bug fixing that make that kind of game playable. -

Even samer here. Dragonfall left me with eagerness to move on to Hong Kong. Hong Kong made that eagerness fizzle. -

Finished Necromunda: Hired Gun. The game is a fun fast paced shooter I guess (it isn't my genre, so I do not know what the criteria are). They put in a lot of effort to craft the maps. The voice acting exists. I found some npcs to not talk loud enough. The story also exists. I am not sure it should. It requires the audience to care about a very specific Necromunda character and to have read the novels and comics. Even then, it still is pointless.
